Ashburnham Market Place

I eat at Ashburnham Market Place frequently. Their take-out food blows the doors off of the other places in town! Even their pizza is excellent.

I agree that their pricing can sometimes be a little high - but the take-out food from the deli is very competitive, and sliced deli meats are comparable to other local options. I like their meat department, too - they have a lot of variety for such a small store. And I agree with the other reviewer who said they have good sales - they have surprisingly good weekly specials.

Would I do 100% of my weekly grocery shopping at Ashburnham Market Place? No. They are just too small to carry every single item I need to stock my fridge. But I buy lunch or dinner there a lot, and it's great for picking up the odds and ends items.

Oh - yes, I do agree that the cigarette smoking in the front of the store is DISGUSTING. I complained to one of the kids out there smoking one night about it, but he just shrugged me off as if my opinion didn't matter. It was the only bad customer service experience I've had at that store.

Expensive prices on a daily basis, but they do have good sales. Small store with a small selection, but they have the basic necessities. Great deli sandwiches at a reasonable price. Friendly service, although the check-out is directly in front of the doors therefore making it cold during the winter months. DVD rental service available. Beer and wine selection.

I shop at Ashburnham Market often when I am in town and I think it is a cute little store. Got most things you could need and friendly staff with short lines!

It can be a bit expensive and its COLD in there in the winter, I feel bad for the employees! I also agree that the smokers need to be away from the front of the store!

The prices can be a little high, but they usually have some good sales(much better than a couple of the big chain supermarkets), they have a surprisingly good selection including beer and wine, and you cant beat the convenience. I do wish they wouldn't let the employees smoke out in front though-the smoke gathers in the entry ramp. cough cough. Take out food at the deli is pretty decent, sandwiches are good too!
