A seamless transition to Kindergarten proved that LCS is a wonderful place. My older son, now a first grader in at a local public school, was with LCS since he was 9 months old. He went through each of the age appropriate classrooms, and was lovingly cared for every step of the way. In his infant years, the teachers were supportive with his development, encouraging and providing opportunity daily for gross and motor development. His toddler years were incredible; I remember picking him up one day with the faint smell of his teachers perfume... I know that he got lots of hugs that day! In Pre-school, they learn letters, numbers, counting. He would come home and often surprise me with all that he learned; i.e. all the days of the week in english and spanish! Seasons, months, etc. I loved that they would go to yoga once a week once in pre-school and pre-k. Also, they would take field trips to a local farm in the fall. Regarding the Pre-K program, I can not thank the LCS staff enough. My son was reading by the time he was a little over 4 years old....mind you, I had nothing to do with this besides our evening book reading. At first when I noticed he was reading, I thought he had memorized the book. But, we took a trip to the library together and picked out a few unfamiliar books, and wouldn't ya know it, the kid was actually reading. His transition to Kindergarten was easy, as he had been preparing for it with all of his learning and growing under the wonderful care of his teachers.
Another reason I love this program is the low teacher turnover. I also have 3 1/2 y.o. son who has been in the program for the past 2 years. There are the same teachers from when my first son went through the program. Nothing feels better when I drop off my younger son in the pre-school room and the first thing he asks as soon as we get there is if he can go play with his friends. The directors Lissy, Gladys, and Allison have truly done an amazing job creating a solid beginning to prepare my kids for life.
