I have been going to Toscana now for several months now. I stumbled upon it by accident while trying to find a new Italian place on the North Shore for my girlfriend and I. It has now become one of my favorite hangouts. I have been there with my family, I have been there with my friends, and I have been there with my girlfriend, I've even been there by myself! I have never had a bad meal, I have never had bad service. I almost always get whatever the night's special is. Whether it be fish, veal, or chicken it is always fresh and always cooked to perfection. I tell everyone about this restaurant. They even have a back room for events and family gatherings. I can't wait until I have a big event, it will definitely be there.

Pros: Unreal Specials; Very Fresh!!!

Cons: Hmm...

This place is great! My wife and I discovered it 1 year ago and haven't stopped going yet. Their whole menu rocks. The bread is unbelievable. I'd recommend this place to anyone local who enjoys awesome northend food without the necessary travel to Boston. Their wine selection is not bad and the ambience is super. Hope you have time to check this place out.

Pros: great food and staff

Cons: sometimes a little wait

.

The wait was long to get into a restaurant that wasn't even busy. The woman who sat us kept bothering us during our meal. I'm okay with a friendly "hi" or "how are you," but let us enjoy our meal, will ya? Our waitress, she said her name was Tanya, was the rudest waitress I have ever met. She never smiled, she was hard to understand because she spoke softly and had an accent, and she was forgetful of things, like bringing our drinks. She took our order, got it wrong, and when she went to the kitchen to have it fixed, it took a half-hour on top of the 45 minutes we already waited. The only up side to this place is the bread. I wouldn't waste my time on such an expensive place with such poor service.

Pros: good bread

Cons: bad service, rude waitress, long wait, too expensive

.

Well at least the bread was really good. Unfortunately it took well over an hour for our food to arrive after we had ordered it. The waitress gave no explanation as to why it took so long. They weren't even that busy, but from looking around it looked like several people who were seated at the same time as us were subjected to the same wait, with little explanation why.
To make make matters worse, the food was definitelly not worth the wait. Espicially for prices hovering around the $20 per meal range. My tomato sauce was flavorless, as was my girlfriend's scampi sauce. I don't think they even had basil and garlic in the kitchen. And the shrimp was so salty it seemed like they were trying to cover up the fact that it was a little old. Neither of us ate very much, the waitress didn't even ask why she was clearing full plates of food. We were offered a free dessert and gift card by the hostess, but declined both. I wouldn't eat here even if the food was free.

Pros: The bread basket.

Cons: everything else
