THIS IS THE MOST TERRIBLE GYM THAT I HAVE EVER BEEN TO. I transfer from my past gym to Gold's Gym in Medford because i was told that it was a better gym. I signed up on may 3, 2010 and used the gym until july 14, 2010. On July 14, 2010 to me horror i was completly embarrassed and humillated by the manager Named kevin. I went that morning to ask for receipts of the payments that i made so i could submmitted to my health insurance. First i spoke with Kyle Hintlian who was trying to help me at the front desk. I told him that i would pay three months in advance: agost, september and october. They charged me those three months which equal to a total of $60.00. Then, he called the manager kevin and explain to him that i needed a receipt for those three months that i paid and also a receipt or something that prove that i have been paying the gym. They gave me a receipt for those months but did not want to give me prove of the other months that i paid. Kevin started to yelled at me saying that he can't give me a receipt. He started to talk to me very loud and disrespectful. I told that i only asked him for a print out that prove that i was paying the gym. He told me that i did not need that to get a refund from the health insurance. I told him that i did not like the way that he was treating me and asked him to be more respectful to me. I told him that i was a customer that needed help from him and that it was his responsibility to help me with this. After i said that, he screamed at me: Get out of the gym, out of the gym, out of the gym walked me to the door and said : get the hell out here, you are not welcome to the gym anymore! . After that shocking reaction i walked to the door and i told him that it was fine, that i would leave but i needed my contract to be broken and the money back for the three months that i paid in advance. He laugh at me and told me that i would have to paid until the last cent of my contract. After i left the gym i called his manager named July and explained to her what happened. She asked me what did i want to compensate for what happened. I told her that after that embarrassing moment i wanted to cancel the gym membership with not penalty and that i need a refund of the money that i paid for three months in advance. She told me that it was fine. that i just needed to check my bank statement and that the money would be refund on Monday of the following week. Since that day, i have been waiting, calling the manager july at her cell phone number and leaving messages almost every day. She just ignores my calls.I called to the Arlington, south boston, medford gyms and left messages for her telling her that my refund have not being made. I called financial services and they told me that Gold's Gym have not authorize them to make any refund. I'm very upset at this situation and seems like nobody wants to help me. I think that this is a terrible way to run a business and i think that you should train your employees in customer services. DO NOT GO TO THIS GYM BECAUSE THEY ARE VERY RUDE AND NOT HONEST!!!

They reserve the right to change fees at any time, charging your credit card without notice, and it's nearly impossible to cancel the gym account! As someone mentioned on the Yelp review for this gym, they will charge you for an extra month when you try to cancel your membership.

Also, the managers at the Medford gym are rude and defensive, and will lie to you - anything to make a sale.

Gold's Gyms are known for their shady billing and customer relations. Wish I'd known that before I joined this gym! What a nightmare!
