NO NO NO NO NO don't use them!!!! they are unprofessional, rude, and dishonest!! We did a long distance move and not only did they give us a quote waaayyyy off base, (we went over each and every thing on that truck and then took some of the heavier items in our cars and it was still 700 more than we were told) when they were unloading our stuff they dropped the dresser off the truck and thought nothing of it. They took forever to get back to me any time i called, and when i called to complain about a lot of broken stuff i was told to call a claims department who cant help me because i don't have my paperwork which i'm pretty sure i never even got!!!!! Don't use them, they are awful!!"

This was my very first experience using professional movers. I could not afford the expensive guys such as Gentle Giant.

WORK ETHIC
They worked incredibly hard. They gave me a sub-$90 rate since I moved mid-week. In addition to the 3-man team I paid for, they provided a 4th man to act as a foreman. This was not required but was certainly a refreshing gesture. After loading, they politely asked permission to take a lunch break. They took a reasonable 45-min lunch and deducted that time from their labor.

TIMING
The original quote was for a 5-6 hour move (for a large, 2-bdrm apartment). The move took exactly 6 hours of labor, including travel. This was the only company to give me a realistic quote. All the rest claimed to be able to do it in 3-5 hours. Watching how hard these guys worked, I cannot imagine that anyone else could have done it in significantly less time (sure they could have saved 15 minutes if they didn't wrap stuff as well), but since I had a few long hallways and stairs that they had to navigate, their timing was admirable. Travel fees: 1/4 hour from their Brighton office to my Cambridge site, 1/2 hour from Cambridge to Newton, and 1/4 hour from Newton back to their office. While I disliked paying 1 hour for total travel, no other company could do better.

CONS
Only a few, minor cons. First, the furniture pads were a bit old & worn. Second, they used a LOT of tape: 25 rolls at $3/roll. However, that's my fault as they warned me of such an outcome, yet I was too lazy to buy my own tape. Word to the wise: go to Home Depot and buy 1 roll of packing tape for every 2 pieces of large furniture. Third, my plasma TV arrived with a very small scuff on the screen.

BOTTOM LINE
If you have very expensive & delicate stuff, then you need to bite the bullet and hire Gentle Giant or the like. However, if you want an awesome deal with respectable quality, hire Fast Lines and perhaps just move your few delicate items beforehand, by yourself.

Pros: Incredibly efficient/hardworking for the low price

Cons: Might want to move super-delicate items yourself
