That was one of the best times I've ever had in my life with my girl, swing dancing to your incredible jazz band on the barge in Boston Harbor tonight! That's how weekday evenings in the summer should be! Keep it up-it was fabulous(and not even actually summer yet!), and I'll spread the word as far and wide as I can.
We went to this restaurant for a birthday celebration on a beautiful evening. The view of the harbor was spectacular, but the meal was truly terrible. First, I was served a bottle of luke warm beer and given a just-washed wet glass. The entree of fresh-fish-of-the-day (grouper) was very dry, the vegetables were virtually inedible, and we had to ask for rolls to go with our dinner. Would not recommend eating here even though the outdoor setting was so pleasant.
You certainly can't beat the location. The Rowe's Wharf Sea Grill is one of Boston's only waterfront locations. Be Sure to check out Live Soul Music every Tuesday night this summer, Timeless Tunes on Wednesday evenings, Blues night on Thursday and Hollywood Classics for Movie night on Fridays.
Fresh Seafood, Live Entertainment, Cold Beverages and a beautiful view.
Pros: Live Entertainment Tuesday- Friday Nights!
If any other restaurant would go out of their way to make my day I would like to see it happen. Intrigue was one of the better three meal restaurants I have encountered in a hotel. Eating nearly fifteen of my meals there while staying at the Boston Harbor Hotel allowed me a great chance to see how curtious a staff can be. The staff very quickly knew me by name and consistantly went out of their way to make my stay more pleasant. A fantastic job by the entire staff. I recommend it to anyone who likes to be well taken care of.
Pros: Prompt service, great managers
For such an unbelievably beautiful hotel, we had an ugly time. It started off with the 1 hr and 45 wait when we were told no more than an hour. The hostess gave us the worst attitude and might as well thrown our menus at us. Even though we had a great server, the food took FOREVER to come, because they try to cook for 500 ppl with a small kitchen. We actually saw our server getting yelled at by their managers for dancing (we went when there was live entertainment) which was completely unneccesary and totally set the mood for the rest of the night. The business-suit clad managers stood there and looked around like idiots the whole night and set an uncomfortable atmosphere while they pretty much watched us eat our food and drink our wine. We wont return!
Pros: waterfront seating, live entertainment, excellent service
Cons: overpriced food, bad food, uncomfortable atmosph
Bottom line-2 star service, 3 star food, 5 star prices. Haven't had a bad experience like this in years. Made a reservation 5 days in advance for outdoor patio. We arrived on time but our table was not ready for 30 min. We were invited to order drinks at a table indoors while we waited. In the 30 min. wait, the drinks never came. We were seated outside and asked for water and waited another 30 min. Our martinis from the bar finally came but my husband wound up getting up and having to ask the manager for water! . Tasty appetizers. Entrees- one was ok and but the other (swordfish and tuna)was so dry I couldn't eat it. Manager asked if she could bring something else-I declined. Waitress-not knowledgable about menu or wine and often no where to be found.
Pros: Location-on the water, Good wine list
Cons: Poor service, Poor food quality, Crowded
From arrival to walking out the door our experience was incredible. Great staff a nice relaxed atmosphere and great value.
