Anyone considering using the services of Sheldon Zigelbaum should be aware that he lost his Massachusetts medical license in 1992, and his New York license in 1993, after being found guilty of sexual and other misconduct with psychiatric patients. I'd consider this criminal, personally, since a troubled patient can hardly give informed consent, and being high probably didn't help them with decision-making, either. However, he was not tried criminally, to my knowledge.

He still uses "M.D.," but he is not entitled to do so. The essential info is available here - it's public record: w3.health.state.ny.us/

Because of the 35-letter-per-word limit here, the link had to be broken up; anyone interested in seeing it can easily cut and paste it a piece at a time, though. Or just Google him. It's one of the first things that comes up.

Legally, he is still allowed to practice, as long as he doesn't call himself a psychiatrist. He can, however, call himself a therapist, crisis counselor, etc., and continue to see patients. It probably isn't a good idea to be one of them.
