Contemporary ambiance with moderm Italian food. The food is excellent, and the prices range from $19-$29 for an entree. There's an outdoor patio right next to the river??perfect for an after-work appetizer.

Would definitely recommend as a treat to yourself for the occasional nice night out.

Great place to go in the summer and warmer weather. Try upstairs back patio. Over looks the charles river. The wine selection and superior and the food is top notch. We've been several times. Nice place to go as a date night out with your spouse. The menu changes monthly and theres always tasty specials. The prices are on the higher side.

Biagio on Moody Street, Waltham, is our now favorite restaurant. I have been there on four occasions. The dcor is done in a tasteful old world style faux finish reminding me of what I saw at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas. There is a great winding staircase leading to Balcony seating on the second floor, a great party room with comfy sofas/ dance floor and bar upstairs, and a patio on the second level for alfresco dining when in season. Downstairs is where the fine dining takes place and again the dcor is tasteful and well thought out. With the said, I recommend for you to make a reservation, to ensure a seat, as this restaurant fills up very quickly. We, however, on two occasions, did not have a reservation (including a surprise dinner out on my Birthday with my husband), and the owners gave us genuine consideration and wonderful seating accommodations. Let me tell you, I adore the Pear and Gorgonzola Salad; my husband had the appetizer special of Beef Carpario, and was not disappointed at all. I have also had the Calamari and it was succulent and cooked to perfection. Two of my personal favorites are the Veal OssoBuco and the Pasta Bolognese. The veal is so tender you do not need a knife; the Bolognese is flavorful and light at the same time with homemade noodles. My husband had the Jumbo Scallops and Risotto and they were cooked perfectly and had a sweet flavor to them. He also had the Shrimp Scampi and the shrimp again were fork tender and the Alfrado sauce was brimming with flavor and still light. The wine list gives you a variety of choices and pairs nicely with all the courses. Not to be forgotten is the dessert menu. The homemade Bread Pudding with Cranberries is beyond what I ever thought a bread pudding could be, and the filled to order Canolis are amazing with a hint of a liquor flavor. The host and servers are friendly, accommodating, and make your dining experience most enjoyable. You will not be disappointed, you must try Biagio for yourself and see the best Italian Restaurant in Waltham is hidden beside the train tracks. It is a true culinary treasure, featuring authentic Italian cuisine and gracious hospitality.

My boyfriend and I came here on V day after Cafe Escadrile lost our reservation. Biagios thankfully squeezed us in! We had our servers suggestion of excellent pear salad, incredible veal osombuco and the AWESOME CHOCALATE SOUFLE! The absoult BEST was the chocalate martini made with real godiva chocalate. After dinner our server suggested we chill out in there lounge this is very NY or LA atmosphere. To our surprise they reserved us a couch where my boyfriend and I drank the bartenders suggestion of the Biagios Xpresso martini so yummy! To my surpeise my boy friend proposed and pictures were snapped and tears of joy were wept thank you BIAGIOS for making our night so perfect we will tell all are friends and family about you! We're glad we ended up here thank you to the gentle man who squeezed us in and thank you to the whole Biagio staff!!! YOU MUST TRY THE VEAL! By the way to the diva who wrote they ran out of chicken for her son, lighten up its only chicken !

Happy Valentine's Day.... after working all day my son waited until very late in the evening (the reservation time he was given) & took his girl to Biagio's for dinner after exchanging gifts. At the door they couldn't get his name correct on the reservation list so they were made to wait while they seated others then they were sent upstairs to wait again & told a table would be ready in a few minutes. They sat on a sofa while a table was set but were left there sitting in the lounge until they approached someone asking if that was their table. They ordered an overpriced appetizer then were told that the restaurant had "run out of chicken parm" for my son's girlfriend. She was offered pork which she does not eat. The menu is limited. The waitress returned saying "they found one". Assuming that meant they were going to be served a pre-prepared or frozen meal they cancelled their order, paid the bill & left.
On a previous outing to this place large King Crab legs were delivered to a table. I asked my waiter about them as they were NOT on the menu. A big deal was being made by the owner who was at the tableside in a soiled T-Shirt chatting with the Crab Legs customers. I was told by my waiter that the King Crab legs were not available....the owner had prepared them for personal friends of his.
A relative of ours called there recently to ask about scheduling a small party. After 3 phone calls were never returned he finally spoke to "a son" who could have cared less if he got the booking or not. He was told to "look at the website" and call back (again) if you're interested. Good food is found in many restaurants that are not as noisy as this one is so there is no need to tolerate bad attitude & preferential treatment.

The restaurant was pretty with cathedral ceilings and several chandeliers hanging, ceiling murals, very Italian dcor. But, the service was terrible...so bad that Bob had to get up and complain to one of the owners. Finally, the waitress quickly handed our drinks and appetizers and left. Just then there was a loud rumble and Helen said, "What is that?" I told her that the restaurant is right next to railroad tracks and that was a passing train that she heard. (I guess we're all a little tense because of the Haiti disaster) So, we're talking and laughing when all of a sudden, CRASH!!!! A large, heavy ceiling fixture near the chandelier DROPPED on our table just missing Bob's head by inches. Sitting next to him, I let out the LOUDEST scream and all the people in the entire restaurant echoed in unison! We were all FROZEN!

So what do you think the owner did? NOTHING! NO APOLOGY! NO FREE DRINKS OR DESSERT! ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! We all waived him over and he stood near our table staring at us. When we told him what happened, he barely managed to utter a grumble. We asked him to replace the drinks that were ruined, and rather than just bring fresh drinks, they asked each of us if our drinks were OK the way they were, and left it up to us to re-order.

Needless to say it was not a boring night, but we will NEVER go back to that restaurant!

I had heard about Biagios and had driven by a couple of times but had never been in. My friend recomended Biagios and I went there with some people from work. Since I was early I decided to have a drink at the downstairs bar while I waited for my other co-workers. As I waited with my drink I looked around and noticed how nice the restaurant looked.

During our dinner with shared a really nice bottle of Pinot Noir. We shared some awesome oysters and the eggplant app that our waiter recomended. When our entress arrived I was really hungry and ready to dive in. I got one of their specials the Halibut brodo. I'm really picky about seafood but they really nailed this dish. Lots of shellfish and great broth. My other guests loved their food as well. Went up to the patio afterwards for some more drinks and coffee. Great view up there. I'm definitely going back there again!

I am not usually one you comes home and writes a review about the experience that I have had at a restaurant but I could not help but want to write one about Biagio?s. My boyfriend and I have finally a found a place where it is worth going on Moody Street. We went in on Saturday night. We sat at the upstairs bar and although it was busy we were greeted by a very friendly bartender who made us two amazing espresso martinis. The atmosphere was great and was packed with a thirty plus professional crowd. The music was awesome and when I asked them where they got the re-mixes they stated that they had a dj that made them just for them. Our dinner was amazing and the veal chop was out of this world. The bartender had full knowledge of the menu and helped us out with pairing the right wine with our dinner entrees. I would recommend this place to anyone and will also be contacting them this week to book a private function in their function room for my upcoming company party. We are very pleased that we have finally found a quality place in Waltham that is worth every dollar of our money and every moment of our dining time.

Biagio's is the best. I came here a few times last summer for drinks with my girlfriends on the patio . . . I came here again last weekend and was not disappointed. Biagio's has a new drink menu that features some really great martini's and mojito's. My favorite is the Capri-A yummy and not too sweet lemon delight. The red sangria is also so good- the best I've tried! Come to Biagio's for some good drinks, good food, good times : )

I have been to this restaurant a few times each time thinking it would get better! It DID NOT! The food is not consistent and the service is awful. The loud atmosphere does not make for an enjoyable experience. The favorite meal that I had there was taken off the menu! It is a great location and the porch is nice when the weahter is good!

My brother took four of us out for my wife's birthday. We got there and were seated comfortably and right away. They have a great selection of wine by the glass, we all tried different ones and voted their Dante Cabernet S. the tastiest. If you dine here, come hungry and prepare to leave full, everything is tasty and they give generous portions. All of the salads were fresh and not over dressed and they had quite a selection of specials as well. I tried the Veal Chop... WOW. After a great dinner, we had dessert and Martinis upstairs in their Vegas style Plush Lounge. The Sox game was on, and I sat comfortably watching while enjoying an Espresso Martini that read 'Biagio' in a chocolate drizzle across the top. This place rocks, and while it may seem pricy, we averaged out $60 per person for the night, not bad considering we were their for almost over 4 hours, which all wend by in a grand flash.

I've frequented Biagio's a few times and always had a good time. The first time I went was for a catered event upstairs and the food was great! The buffet was huge and encompassing, making it possible for vegetarians or kosher (not mixing meat and cheese) patrons to have plenty to eat. The music was great, and the upstairs bar even has a patio. The second time I went to Biagios, I ate a more formal dinner downstairs that was also very enjoyable. It seems that their specials change frequently and all of the seafood dishes I've order are phenomenal. I would definitely recommend their fried clams and caprese salad (both specials) as well as the scallops and seafood stew (regular menu). There is also your typical italian chicken/veal parm as well as scampi. Both are excellent and still out of the ordinary. I plan to go back for a third experience!

I have been living in Waltham for some time now, and I frequent Solea, however the other night I thought I would give Biagio's a try. Well, I can say that I will be coming here a lot more often. They have incredible food and a huge selection of appetizers that went great with my many cocktails. I sat in their lounge upstairs but eventually moved on to the patio. The servers are very accomodating and friendly and the bartenders are open, friendly, and efficient. I never had to wait too long for anything. I fell in love with the Limoncello Martini and their wonderful, fresh Caprese salad.

I am originally from Waltham but have since moved to the West coast, but I can not say how thrilled I am to see the Italian Fine Dining Tradition carried out so well by Biagio's here in Waltham. I am a really picky eater, and we came with kids, so we really put the our server to the test. They were very patient and the restaurant was very accomodating. They had wonderful appetizer pizzas, and I must say I was very fond of the Halibut en Brodo, a special that I thought so good I immediately looked up the recipe when i got home. My kids consumed a tiramisu in a matter of seconds, so I would like to think it tasted pretty good as well, but I didnt even get a chance to get a bite in!

We went to Biagio's to celebrate our daughter's graduation from Bentley. While I could see good things going on around us, unfortunately it wasn't at our table. We were placed at a table that did not have decent clearance around it. A man at the neighboring table was constantly leaning against me, the wait staff had to lean on, over and against me throughout the evening while serving ohter tables it was so bad that I would constantly have to stop eating while they were leaning against me. My crab stuffed Cod wasn't even warm in the middle... forget being cooked. We didn't say much because being from out of town, our daughter made reservations and we didn't want to make a fuss and ruin her day. Two of us didn't even tough our dinner and the waiter wasn't the least bit aware or concerned. This might be a good restaurant on a night when it isn't busy and every other table is empty. We have no intention of returning.

I agree that the service here can be poor but I always find it amusing when it is. The service is never slow; I would say some of the waitstaff are characters. The food is well above average and worth any hiccups we've had with the service. It is the best on Moody Street and they even have parking, another perk. They have the best Lobster Ravioli my husband has ever tasted and the antipasto is wonderful. It is large and has a good mix of cheese, meat, and veggies. The pizza is some of the best I've ever had. I don't think of this place as a pizza joint, but they do a perfect job.

We went to a party held at Biagio and it was excellent. The party was held in the upstairs lounge. It was very tastefully decorated in deep colors...very classy! The big cozy sectional sofas with lots of pillows were so comfortable. The bartenders were great and the servers were also. The food....wow....fabulous! After attending this party we can't wait to go back for dinner! We highly recommend Biagio for a party in the lounge and dinner in the dining room. We also met the owners as they come up to be sure everything was okay and they were very nice. Go, you will love it!

Me and my boyfriend went to diner here tonight. We have been there once before, I ordered a dish that had mushrooms, which i dont like, so i asked if i could have peas, they said yes. When i got my meal the peas tasted like they hadnt been cooked, rock hard, i thought it might have just been because i made a "special request". So, we decided we would try it again. I ordered the tortellini, which has prosiutto and peas- THE PEAS WERE ROCK HARD AGAIN! On top oft that my boyfriend got the swordfish that had rice, the rice wasnt cooked and was crunchy and the swordfish was over cooked. It took 20 minutes for the person to bring over bread, who also spilt the water all over the table when pouring it! We wont be going back there is all i have to say! Although the food was horrible, our waitress was nice.

My friends took me to this somewhat new restaurant for my birthday and I must say it was a very memorable experience. Our table was greeted very warmly by a charming gentleman named Will. Will informed us of the specials of the evening and took our drink order. Being somewhat of a wine snob I asked him to suggest a wine that would go good with seafood as that was what I was planing to have. To my surprise Will was very informative about the wine list and suggested I have the Gavi to pair with the Grilled Swordfish I was sold on when he told us the specials for the evening. Everything after that fell right into place, drinks were delivered, our apps came out ( I had the Egg plant app, AMAZING), our en tree's came out shortly, everything was delicious. The one thing I was truly amazed by was the atmosphere and the warm and friendly wait staff. Everything was absolutely perfect. Not to mention the owners sent over a free desert (Chocolate souffles, which was wonderful). I'm going back as I have yet to check out The Plush Lounge that is on the second floor (kids at home, no time to check it out!!). Thank you for a wonderful time. Five out of five stars for my experience.

Pros: Service, Food, and atmosphere.

Cons: Parking, but I was informed on some secret spots to park for next time!!!

My wife and I went to Biagio on a Sunday night. First we sat at the bar for almost 15 minutes before the bartender offered to take our drink order. We proceeded to sit down ordered our diner and wine, all of which was average. We each ordered dessert, we new right away that my wife did not receive the right dessert. We flagged our waitress and told her about the mistake, she then stated "well if you keep eating it there is nothing I can do." Not, sorry let me comp it or get you a new dessert. I would not recommend. Tempo at the end of Moody street has better drinks, food and SERVICE!!

I've been to Biagio's 4 times now and the food just keeps getting better. The service is very friendly and the only issues I've seen are with 'High Maintenance' people. Great Pork chops, excellent parms and always a new special to try. The upstairs bar is a great place to have a drink before dinner, even if you are having dinner someplace else. The deck is great in the summer!

Wow.
In a nutshell that is how I would explain my experience at Biagio's.
The service was excellent, the ambiance perfect, and the food...mmm yummy!
My husband had the Veal Parm and loved it, I has the eggplant and the calamari...delicious!

Thank you to the owners anthony and Joey for paying such special attention to my husband and I. Having dinner there to celebrate our first anniversary was very special.

The food here is beautiful, but the service gets worse and worse. The other night our waitress disappeared for a half hour without explanation. When we asked, she had some story about a computer glitch - (though that didn't explain why we never got our drinks or bread...) And the waitress could have at least been nice about it or offered a free drink or something... An isolated incident is one thing, but service "glitches" are par for the course at Biagio. Service is better downstairs than on the roofdeck, but this was my third bad experience -- I don't htink I'll be going back for a fourth. Plenty of other great places on Moody St with good food and much better service! DEFININETY don't take out of town guests, a date, or anybody you are trying to impress -- big risk of embarrassment by the bad service.

When my wife and I went to check out Biagio for dinner on a weeknight, we had no great expectations, but nonetheless it was a disappointing experience. The new interior is nicely done in some ways, but quite gaudy, too, complete with faux brick walls, painted ceilings and weird statues. We'd hoped to have dinner outside on the roof deck. When we asked the hostess, she explained that she didn't know if they were serving dinner outside, since it might not be busy enough. Turns out there were tables outside and they were serving appetizers, but for some reason they were not willing to carry entrees to the deck. We settled for apps since it was nice out. The waitress messed up the order the first time, and the pizza with canned tomatoes was not very good. If you want to have a drink outside, Biagio is an option. Don't go for the food, and definitely do not expect good service.

I had the pleasure of dining at Biagio this past week. We had a wonderful experience, from friendly and professional waitstaff, lovely surroundings, to amazing food. I had the Sea Scallops with Limoncello-Chocolate Risotto and asparagus and my friend had an amazing Tuna. I can't wait to go back.
Biagio is a wonderful addition to Waltham.

My husband and I will definitely be back again after our dinner this past Thursday night. We wanted to go somewhere that wasn't just another boring old restaurant. We had reservations for 8:00, we had drinks at the bar before sitting down, great crowd. Service was prompt and our dinner was delicious, I loved the mushroom ravioli and the pomegranate martini. The interior is decorated beautifully and we had drinks afterwards at the upstairs lounge where our friends met us. Social, fun and funky - we'll definitely be back. Looking forward to the live music.

Pros: Delicious food, great ambience, outdoor dining

Cons: During the week walk-in's are fine, but reservations def. recommended on Fri & Sat

I was completely shocked by the dining experience that I had at Biagio's. My husband and I went to the restaurant without a reservation on a Friday night. We were told the wait would be about 30 minutes, but 30 minutes turned into an hour before we were seated. The hostess kept "losing" her waiting list and had trouble keeping track of who should be seated next. Once seated, our server was prompt, bringing water, drinks, etc., but our bread basket was a very long time in coming, and needless to say, we were very hungry by this point. I ordered the Chicken Parmesan and my husband ordered the Veal Parmesan. When the dishes came out we were starved and dived right in. About a quarter of the way through his dish, my husband realized that he was not eating veal, but chicken--they had mixed up our dishes. I don't eat veal-ever. I am totally against it and was revolted to realize that I had taken several bites of it without realizing it. My husband called over the waiter and had him take the dishes back to the kitchen. The waiter came back with new, correct dishes a few minutes later, but they were barely lukewarm. Now we were both very upset. This time we called the manager over and explained the situation, asking if he could perhaps compensate us in some way for their mistake. He said he would see what he could do and left the table. The waiter then came back and said the manager had offered to buy us drinks. By then, my husband and I just wanted to leave, and asked could he just remove the one glass of wine I had already ordered from the bill. The waiter said he would check with the manager. The manager then came back to the table and began berrating us stating that he never takes anything off the bill and if we didn't want a drink, then too bad. We were completely mortified, stunned, and angry. We paid the bill, and as we left we asked the name of the belligerent manager. Turns out it was none other than the owner, Mr. Biago himself!
