i am well versed in all things Sauciety and let me tell you, this place is a sinking ship. I cannot go into detail why i have such intimate knowledge of this restaurant but take my word for it...Its terrible. First off, this is a union hotel, where the servers have absolutely zero interest in knowing or caring about the food. they can't tell the difference between Swordfish and salmon, and can care less if you get what you asked for. They are, for the lack of a better word, idiots. Don't even ask them anout wine, they barely know what is red and what is white. the

We ate here to avoid the long lines at the convention center food court. The hostess staff was nice and we were seated quickly, being told that we had just missed the 1 hour wait. After that the experience went downhill. We sat for almost 20 minutes before being seen by our server. The food was pricey, which wouldn't be a problem if it was exceptional which it wasn't. We shared the Clam Chowder -which was great if you're in the market for Bacon Chowder. More pork than seafood, but still pretty tasty. My wife had the Seafood Cobb Salad, which came prepared differently than advertised with so-so seafood. It was a lot of salad for sure. I had the Beer Battered Cod with Fries which was ho-hum. The fries were pretty good. None of the sauces I requested made it to our table, so I stuck with the catsup. The entire time we were eating the waitress for the table next to us kept obnoxiously bumping into the back of my chair - constantly. I'm sure there must be a better value for your buck in Boston.

Pros: Location

Cons: Price, Service, Food

I love sauces, and these sauces are all great! You wont expect traditional BBQ and Katchup, but more interesting flavors like arichoke lemon, whiskey katchup, parmasean foam, mole, chimichuri, etc.The fries are awesome with all these sauces, I find myself craving them! Since I work in the area, I have been to Sauciety a few times. My first time was right when they opened and the service was friendly but a bit slow. Since then, I can see that the restaurant managers have worked hard with their employes and have greatly improved the dining experience at this new restaurant.

It's a great concept but it just doesn't work. There was no one in the restaurant but my bf and i were told they were all reserved. so we sat at the communal table. bad idea. waiter was horrific, dishes came at all different times and we got our appetizer bread halfway through our dinner. I will never go back here. it was way overpriced, example? A crabcake the size of a silver dollar for $10. Huge huge let down. beware of fun, new concept, they have no idea what they are doing!

And what a dish it was! Upon entering the birch tree filled lobby of the new Westin, I wasn't sure what to expect. We found our way over to the restaurant, were greeted by a friendly host who explained the concept of the restaurant, and were seated. Once seated, you quickly forget that the restaurant is located in a hotel. The restaurant's decor and lighting was alluring and hip. The server explained the layout of the menu and how to order and we quickly got to work. The food was outstanding! High quality, posh dishes without the astronomical price attached. The sauces were inventive and complimented the dishes perfectly! And then the best part, a dessert that rivals the Bristol Lounge's sundae station!

It is a great place to go on a Saturday night for a special night. I went with my mom and her friend and it was great. The food was delicous and my favorite desert would be the "Build Your Own Sundae. It was the best like everything else they were serving. It is a great place to go eat. It is the best of boston. No lie. Best place to go on a date or just with a bunch of friends. It isn't a great place to take children. Go and try it out. It's just one of the best places in Boston.
Go and plan to go over this weekend. Now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Boston has a new restaurant worth experiencing! I am a local here in Boston and I am not one to dine in hotel restaurants but I had to try this one. It is overwhelming when you walk into the new Westin on the Waterfront but once you enter Sauciety, you enter the 'experience'. The hostess was very welcoming and sat my guest and I promptly even though it was a very busy night. The menu has so much to choose from- including organic chicken and pork, but it is the sauces that make it interesting. I started out with a cup of the New England clam chowder. Ok...if you want the best chowder come to Sauciety. Then, I ordered the chicken but could not decide between the sauces so our waitress brought over a sampling. That alone made my dining experience. You definitely do not go home with an empty stomach. Of course I had to finish my meal with the make your own sundae dessert. Need I say more! There is something for everyone on this menu.
I was very impressed by the service here. Our waitress was very attentive and presented herself with full knowledge of the menu. She made suggestions even letting me know what wines would go well with my meal. Cudos to the management of Sauciety. They have done a great job creating a wonderful dining experience. I would highly recommend trying this restaurant and if you don't have time to sit and eat, check out the bar.
SIMPLY PUT...IT WAS GREAT!

This place is the latest surprise in dining! Who knew that a hotel could actually put out some quality food? Generally hotels serve Sysco food but this experience was different. Sauciety is a chic little hot spot.
I had to meet a client there one evening. He had arrived late on a flight from Mexico City and didn't want to leave the hotel. He was very much looking forward to hitting his 'dream bed' but needed to get an early start on a deal he had worked on for weeks. I was dreading sitting down at a hotel restaurant.I love places like The Capital Grille or Via Matta.
We both ordered the clam chowder. Expecting something out of a can....I was amazed at the fact that I was eating the best chowder I had ever tasted. It made Legal Seafoods 'award winning' chowder taste like warm milk.
Next, I had the chicken and it was organic. This is important because recent studies are showing the importance of eating organic meats, dairy foods and vegetables opposed to foods containing hormones and/or sprayed by harmful chemicals. Since I was eating healthy chicken....I sprang for the buttery mashed potatoes. They were ALMOST as good as the ones I make. This place is noted for the sauces you can select to accompany your dish. I chose a parm. foam and a tomato salsa. I then had to get dessert since everything else was so perfect. I went with the make your own sundae......oh boy. It was delicious!
Sauciety is a beautiful restaurant. I had no romantic interest in my client (a computer geek) but I did like the look and very tall bench style seating and low relaxing lighting making it a nice date place.
Service was excellent. Our server presented the menu like she had years of experience at the restaurant. While there, I lost my contact lense.....the kindest GM came to the table with a flashlight and actually found the lens. He then offered to go to the little hotel store for some saline. That's service! Sauciety is an amazingly GREAT EXPERIENCE! I'm going back

I WOULD LIKE TO START BY THANKING THE MANAGEMENT AND STAFF OF SAUCIETY FOR ALLOWING ME TO ENCOUNTER SUCH GREAT EXPERIENCE IN THIS FABULOUS RESTAURANT. THE VARIETY OF SAUCES AND THE FOOD PREPARATION WAS OUTSTANDING. THE IMMEDIATE ATTENTION AND SERVICE COULDNT HAVE BEEN BETTER. THE WAITRESS WAS RESPECTFUL AND HELPFUL WITH THE SELECTION OF SAUCES FOR OUR DINNER AND DESSERT. HONESTLY I WAS CONTENT WITH THE FAST SERVICE,THE STAFF, THE SOOTHING SETTING,THE SCENERY,AND THE SMILES OF MANY OTHER CONTENT CUSTOMERS. I USUALLY LIKE TO EAT OUT AND I'VE TRAVELED TO MANY PLACES AND I EAT OUT AND WITH SUCH GREAT EXPERIENCE AT SAUCIETY I'M MORE THAN CERTAIN THAT I WILL BE A FREQUENT CUSTOMER. MY GRATITUDE IS IMENSE WITH THE MANAGEMENT AND STAFF. ONCE AGAIN THANKS TO THE MANAGEMENT AND STAFF FOR THE HOSPITALITY YOUR SERVICE WILL BE MEMORABLE.

As a South Boston resident I was excited to have a much needed upscale restaurant in the neighborhood. After reading the reviews here I have not gone to the restaurant until Saturday night. I wish I had gone sooner, our experience was completely unlike the other reviews I have read. The service was prompt professional and unobtrusive. The room is very romantic and warm. The wine list has a good range of price points and included one of my favorite wines from Stags Leap. The Tuna Tartare appetizer is great and the shrimp skewers with the dipping sauces let you experience several different tastes. Our server was very helpful in selecting the sauces to go with our dishes. For an entree the surf and turf was simply outstanding. three flavors of creme brule made for a nice finish to great meal. As some one who worked in restaurants in the past I know how hard it is to work out the details in opening a restaurant but Sauciety clearly has. I can't wait to go back.

My husband and I dine out a lot, so we were really excited to head to a new restaurant with a fun concept in a different part of the city. The hostess was nice enough, and seated us within 15 minutes on what looked like a busy night. Then at least 10 minutes later our waitress showed up -- an older woman who seemed totally out of her element. When my husband asked for some type of fruity martini, she was completely lost and couldn't think to ask the bartender for a recommendation. He finally just ordered a cosmo.

The food ordering went similarly badly and took a long time to arrive. It was good, but would have been enjoyed so much more if the service had been acceptable. The waitress never came back to check on us; we had to flag her down for the check. We noticed a table nearby having the same issues with her. It would have been somewhat understandable if she were clearly in the weeds (although good servers still give great service even when they are busy), but the dining room was full of other servers and helpers! She just didn't know what she was doing.

I agree with the first reviewer that the service was utterly bizarre. We were pretty shocked that a Westin would have gotten that piece so wrong. We will probably go back some day, but only after the management has replaced the current waitstaff with people who are actually experienced and adequately trained.

Pros: Great concept, nice decor

Cons: Terrible, terrible service

.

I have to agree with other reviewers that the service was bizarre, to say the least. We waited ages for our food and had limited interaction with our actual waitress who was very knowledgeable about the menu and recommended some great sauce/food pairngs. The other staff was either unfriendly or rude, i.e. leering down my friends shirt at her cleavage while refilling her water. Also the night that we were there the hotel was having some sort of event in the lobby and the noise from that drifted into the restaurant and made it difficult to have a conversation. Overall the food was passable and I loved the concept of trying all the different sauces but the staff ruined the experience.

I dine out a lot, but very rarely write a review for a restaurant, but I must warn you to stay away. The service at Sauciety is so terrible its not worth spending the money.

We dined during Restaurant Week, which can be dicey. The menu looked good, similar to what is normally on the menu. We started out ok, the drinks came out rather quickly. Then the wait began. We waited almost 40 minutes waiting for an appetizer that came out cold. The best part was that we ordered skewers, chicken, beef and shrimp, the beef and shrimp came out with 3 pieces on each and the chicken had 2 small pieces of chicken. When we asked why there were 2 pieces, the runner, was very rude and said, they always have 2. She then brought out another with 2 pieces of chicken saying, I know you were unhappy but here's another skewer, and then ran away. It was just bizarre, its like they knew they messed up and gave up on us. Our waiter hid the rest of the night, which made us even more annoyed. And when we gave him a 15% tip, which was more than he deserved considering his poor service, he walked by and made a face and rolled his eyes. Very professional.

Even with the RW discount, it was not worth having to spend $13 for a martini.

I enjoyed my meal at Sauciety. After reading some not so good reviews, I was a little nervous about having picked it for Restaurant Week. However, I enjoyed every part of my meal. The bread basket was fantastic -- I'm a big fan of sourdough and it was quite good. My mom was a big fan of the cranberry sourdough. The salad was among the better I have had in a long time. I thought the meal was great -- if you're looking for a solid meal w/o the frills, good portions, etc., then you'll like what Sauciety has to offer. Don't skip dessert!

I went to Sauciety with 2 friends for what we were hoping to be a nice dinner before a concert at the Fleet Pavilion. We arrived at 6 and were promptly seated. We placed our dinner order and also ordered some wine. We sat and waited for our wine, it took about 20 minutes just to come out. Our appetizers came about 40 minutes into the meal and then we sat again and waited. About 2 hours later our food finally came (only because we complained to the manager and she finally brought it out for us). Needless to say the entire dinner took 2 and half hours to finish and we were late getting to our concert! If time isnt a factor then definitely do try, the food was great- espec the pork and mashed potatoes and all the sauces. However if you have plans for after dinner or just dont want to waste 2 -3 hours at dinner, def skip this place!

Cons: slowest service ever!

It wasnt so much that there was any problem with the food or the environment or even the plethora of sauces. It was just that the staff was so. peculiar.

If only I had known how bizarre the night would be when first greeted by our server, I would have cut my losses and bailed immediately. This amazingly awkward man introduced himself and proudly announced that it was all about the sauce. After struggling to communicate our drink orders (I had to spell M-O-J-I-T-O, my boyfriend asked what beers where available our server couldnt name a single one). 10 minutes later, he retuned to say they didnt make Mojitos. Another 10 minutes later, the others have drinks. The 3-course meal continued this way for two hours! Vast expanses of time passing between each course, never a single refill on the drinks we ordered ages ago, not a single knowledgeable response to simple questions (example: Is the lemon artichoke sauce similar to the one we had with the bread? Answer: No, its saucier.)

I felt sympathy for the unsteady, incoherent server and the equally peculiar water-refiller-guy but I felt angry at the restaurant management for employing them. Did they ask the bell hop to fill in for a night?

After only half of our dessert order arrived, we waited, again, for our check.

The water-refiller-guy then brought us our check and we made a mad dash for the door trying to escape the insanity we had been held hostage in for over two hours. We couldnt get out of there fast enough. The only good thing we got from Sauciety is a completely ridiculous dining experience to laugh about. Oh, and the hostess was great. I bet shes even worked in a restaurant before - amazing concept!
