.

Seedy, cramped office next to the bathrooms in empty basement of office building. They seemed like they didnt attract good tenants, because the agent Rob that I spoke to, interrogated me (poor guy sounded like a police academy reject), for 5 minutes on the phone about my credit before even answering if the apartment I called about was still available. When I went to the office, the same questions were presented to me in a form that I HAD to fill out right there, and not in the car. Rob turned out to be this blinking, swallowing mass of nerves (Tourette's??), who kept answering my request to fill the form on our way to the apartment with a policeman-like "You will NOT be able to do that. Is that a problem?" . When 3 different questions had been answered by EXACTLY the same sentence, he turned a scared face to another man, who jumped in with "I'm Andy, I own this business and WHAT time was your appointment?" When I told him 11:30 (I had walked in at 11:35 because poor-ickle Rob had neglected to mention how impossible parking is and that he would INSIST on having us come in), he said "Well if you had been on time, you could have filled out that application here!" His tone was rude, argumentative, and he did not address my question about the paramount importance of filling out a form with questions already answered previously, IN THE OFFICE! He came across as uneducated, uncultured, and confrontational. These guys were acting like I (an MD with excellent credit), was going to pick up their apartment and run! I'm not surprised they attract the kind of tenants they'd need to run FBI checks on before even talking, because with that kind of biker-bar attitude, do they expect educated people to deal with them? The icing on the cake was when I just told them I'd be looking for a different agent, and started walking out : Poor ickle Rob jumped out of his seat, and yelped, "Excuse me! I need the pen back!!". I'm sure it was a proud moment for him to apprehend a criminal!!

Pros: might work for people with a record, or those used to being talked down to

Cons: rude, unprofessional staff AND owner, office FAR from most of their listings, seedy looking office

.

.This business has a friendly staff, but be specific about what you are looking for. Pretty good selection of Boston apartments.
