I feel compelled to set the record straight on this wonderful restaurant and fine Boston tradition. The first review of King Fung Garden I read on this site (posted on 8/10/08) is basically full of malicious lies. Kung Fung Garden has been one of my favorite restaurants in Boston for 25 years. At its original location on Kneeland St. in Chinatown, it was known as Brezhnev's to many adoring fans over the years. I can only think the lying reviewer is some competitor near King Fung Garden's new location in Brookline who fears losing all his business. And, as those of us who knew it in Chinatown gradually realize it has moved to Brookline, it may be hard to get a table soon. King Fung serves the finest Hon Su Beef I have ever had at any Chinese Restaurant anywhere. The Scallion Pies are delicious. Shanghai Chow Mein has always been a favorite, and for the no-meat crowd, the Bean Curd Family Style or Bean Curd with Oyster Sauce are both not to be missed.

Try ordering off the menu, too. Point to the wall poster of Chinese characters, and say, "I'd like to try the Lin Gao (or Ling Yao or some pronunciation in between), and Doris will smile and may ask if you'd like that with Schezuan pickle. I'd say YES!

PuPu Hotpot. Crispy Duck. Really. You won't be disappointed, unless you're the owner of the Chinese take out joint next door.

Now I know Boston isn't known for good Chinese food but this is hands down the worst, most disgusting place I have ever been to (and I've been to some bad Chinese restaurants!). I was hesitant to even eat it after looking into the kitchen, there were visable rodent feces on the counter and ground and a dead rodent in the corner. They refused to cancel my order after I pointed this out and being that I was broke at the time, I decided to just eat it anyways. BAD choice. The food was barely edible. My general gao's chicken was slimy and extremely chewy. It tasted nothing like any chicken I've ever eaten before. I ended up throwing it away after two bites. Everything else in my order was equally as bad. This is hands down the worst place I've been to in Boston. 0/5 stars. STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AS POSSIBLE UNLESS YOU WANT E.COLI, OR AT THE VERY LEAST A REALLY BAD STOMACH ACHE! YUCK!!!!

Pros: nothing

Cons: dead rodents in the kitchen, sickness, vile taste
