Every week the magazines carry pictures of anorexic young women modeling sweaters that cost as much as a used car; every one made by workers who don't make that much in a year. Some traditions should die out, but don't, like the tradition of people making clothes in what are still called, because they still are, sweatshops. That's what makes this place so refreshing, for lack of a better word, and so needed. Nice clothes made by union people who make a living wage, and make them well, under decent conditions. I wish they had more to offer--t-shirts are their biggest line--but the stuff they do have is well designed, and lasts (I should have bought more than one pair of white hemp high-top sneakers). The sizes can be a little off, an extra large t-shirt was about as big as the usual L, but whatever (they exchanged it right away). It's colorful, and durable, and no sweat. Even modeled by real people, not Kate Moss wannabees. Too bad it's the exception, but it's good to have one oasis of quality in a sea of $500 jeans.
