Came here after work with some co-workers and this place had great 1/2 price apps! Me and my friends had the chicken quesadilla which was delishhh and the triple play. The food was great and I love the rock n roll theme. Its a nice change from all the Irish pubs that surround this area.

Def will be coming back again!

Came here for a friends birthday a couple weekends ago and I had so much fun! This place was so different from all the other bars around boston, I LOVED the whole rock n roll themed place. The bartenders were quick and knew how to make a drink which was nice to see and the waitstaff was super nice and friendly. This was the first time I was here but I def can't wait to come back next weekend!!!!!!

I came here during my lunch break yesterday and was pleasantly surprised. I work around the corner and walked by this place many times. A friend asked me to meet him there for a meeting and I was immediately greeted by an upbeat waitress. We each had a drink, I had the Purple Haze and he had a beer. My drink was delicious! I had the chop steakhouse salad and my steak was cooked perfectly. I will definitely be back and I highly recommend this place to anyone in the area.

I hate this place. It looks like it would be cool with the cow-print seats and whatnot, but the drinks are expensive and the crowd is overdressed. It's definitely too clubby for my liking. The only reason to go here is because they have air conditioning in the summer.

I work in the financial district and go in to Revolution pretty often for a drink after work. I've yet to have a bad experience. Good music, good service, fun bar!

So I work in the financial district, and on Friday night me and my girlfriend didn't want to head home right away so we decided to pop into Rev for a couple hours have some apps. and get a couple cocktails. I had a really nice time, but i really always do at Rev. I here that the club scene is a lot different but I have gone to Rev on a Saturday night and had a decent time. But as I was saying when in there for the "after work crowd" and had a lot of fun. Try the spicy calamari, and the back in black cocktail, they accent each other so well =)

I've given this bar a few shots and it has never failed to disappoint, lending to a quick exit after one or two drinks. The atmosphere is more or less boring and uncomfortable, the management is atrocious, and it seems to attract some of boston's finest spikey haired, overly plucked eyebrowed "playas" on a weekend night.

Went for the LAST time this past saturday (at the request of some friends). Girlfriend and I arrived at 9:30pm to be greeted by a line extending to the end of the building. The line moved fast, but aburtly was brought to a halt by the bouncers. We proceeded to be stuck at the front of a line that would soon extend to the end of the block for the next 50 MINUTES! ...In front of a pretty much EMPTY bar. With the temperature well below freezing and our friends inside confused at why they felt the need to hold up the line to an empty club, it was infuriating. The 1st floor at the time was at 1/4 capacity, while the downstairs dance floor had a grand total count of 10 patrons.

Numerous people asked an estimation for how long the wait to get into an empty club would be, with the bouncers replying "...dunno- could be 10 min, could be an hour."

The managements desire to mistreat paying customers with such disregard will have me NEVER coming back, and keeping anyone I know from frequenting the establishment.

I can have a better time in a place with a MUCH more fun atmosphere, that doesn't insult my time, intelligence and convenience, and values the $$$ that I spend when out.

Do yourself a favor... Go somewhere else.

I seriously go there all the time. The line gets really long so i suggest you go there around like 9. Everything about the place is awesome. When you go in there you just have so much fun. The staff is amazing and so nice and the drinks are great. The atmosphere in there is awesome too. It's a rock bar so obviously they play awesome rock songs and have great rock posters hanging everywhere. There is also a vintage photo booth that is really fun after you've had a couple drinks =) YOU WILL HAVE A GREAT TIME!!

Revolution Rock Bar is the best bar/club around. They have great drinks, great staff, and great MUSIC!! It really picks up around 1030 but make sure you are there around 930.. the party does not stop till close which is 2. Even if you are looking for a good place to eat Revolution has a great menu.. if you are looking to have a good time go to Revolution Rock bar.. trust me you will not regret it!!!!!!!!

I went there on Thursday night. There was a line.... definitely wasn't packed insdie. They just want it to look better than it really is. We waited and waited while the bouncers let their annoying/trashy friends in. PS... the bouncers there think they are gods - Calm down - It's just Revolution Rock Bar on HIgh Street (completely out of place in that location in the financial district). I've been there before and have had fun, but after the last time trying to get in on a Thursday.... I'm all set and will NEVER go back.

The first time I went to this bar was on a Saturday night and we waited 45 minutes with the line barely moving. I went up to the bouncer and asked him if the line was ever going to move or if I was wasting my time and he basically said I would not be getting in anytime soon. I went to a bar around the corner and came back a little more than an hour and got in. Once inside the guys who were standing behind me told me that right after we left the whole entire line got let inside, so basically I was lied to. I tried this bar again last thursday and although there was not a line and we negotiated the door price down from $15 each to $20 for my group of 3 I still did not have a good time here. The music was HORRIBLE. NO ONE was dancing unless they were doing imitations of bad eighties moves just to keep themselves amused. This should have been an indicated to change the music. My friend asked the DJ if he was going to play some hip hop and he said yes but then never did. And the drinks are DEFINITELY watered down. I could taste nothing in my vodka tonic. And then I got a shot of yager which was $10. The prices for the quality were just way too much and the atmosphere is not great at this bar either. There is just no reason why I would ever pay money to go in there again. There are much better places right around the corner.

This is my first review of any restaurant on a bar online. Went to rock revolution a few weeks ago. I don't take exception to overpriced drinks, but i do have a problem with the fact that they were unbelievably watered down. My friend and I ordered shots of vodka in the beginning of the night, i think $12 or $14 each. I swear to god there was probaly 25% vodka in those shots, it was like drinking tap water. Note to owners: those stories have a way of getting around.

I was in contact with the reservation girls WEEKS before my party, I brought 20 of my friends, to celebrate my birthday and instead I had the worst experience of my life. The reservation people had quoted me a certain price and when I received the bill it was over double what they quoted. The manager would not listen to his employee and proceeded to be extremely unprofessional and rude to me and my guests. Not only did he refuse to charge me the price I had been told, he also treated me horrifically through the whole ordeal. For someone in the service industry his lack of manners and professionalism was appalling. My friends and I will never return to this establishment after this incident and I would not recommend that anyone frequent this bar. The line is long, and when you reserve a table they try to screw you. Either way its a lose lose situation, not even worth a glance at this place, many better bars to go to in Boston with employees that actually care about their customers and the service they provide.

This place is way too over-hyped. My friends and I waited in line for 2 hours just to get into this bar, and it wasn't nearly full of people at all. The music was ok, the atomsphere was not worth the wait, and the people working there were not especially the nicest people I've ever encountered. My friends did not enjoy it either. We dislike this bar so much, we refuse to go back, even though a good friend is having his bday there. Sad thing is, he understands why we don't wanna go back and is totally ok with it! I will never go back to this bar.

Do not waste your time with this bar. I have "attempted" to go to this bar twice and both times I had absolutely horrible experiences, I will never bother going ot this bar again. The first time I went to this bar I made sure to get there early to avoid any lines which I got in within 5 minutes however the remainder of our party who showed up only a few minutes later ended up waiting over 30 minutes with no movement in line meanwhile the entire bar had only about 25 people in it at the time. Needless to say we refused to let the remainder of our party wait in the freezing cold February weather and left. The second time I attempted this bar I arrived at 9:30 once again to avoid a line which I ended up standing in for 20 minutes until finally we spoke with the bouncer who said they would not let anyone in until they filled up the VIP tables at which that point we'd be lucky if we got in before 11pm. Who do these people think they are? Worst bar experience in Boston to date, so not worth it!

went there this past saturday night to meet up with a bunch of friends- made sure to get there at a decent time since I heard the line can get long. so arrived at 9:30 and line was long but decided to be patient and wait in it since again i was meeting up with friends. while waiting, noticed there was another line on the other side for vip guests who had reserved tables which is understandable as well as for the people "who were with the vip party." also while i was waiting, i noticed the bouncers would come down the line and pull out groups of girls and allow them to cut the line and go right in which is great if youre a girl there with only your girlfriends but aggravating if you're not. so finally make my way up to the front after 2 HOURS of waiting in line and bouncers saying "it could be 5 min, it could be 25." they let 5 people out of the party of 6 go in in front of us and kept one poor guy to wait while his friends went in and proceeded to kick him out of line when he kept questioning them. after being disgusted by this act made by the bouncers who thought they were hot stuff, they proceeded to tell us we may not even get in after waiting more than 2 hours! absolutely ridiculous. do not waste your time

You dont need to be a rockstar to party like one!!! Revolution is my favorite spots for going out in Boston. Whenever I have a friend in town I have to take them to Revolution. It has a great crowd.. The crowd is a lil older than some of the "21 only" bars in Fanny Hall ... the music is great... and the bar tenders know how to make the best drinks!!!! I have never had to wait in line for this bar. I think if there is a line it is only really late at night (most places in Boston will have a long line after 1230am...what else do you expect if you go out too late!!)

First let me start by saying I think Revolution Bar Rock is by far the best bar in Boston. I was born and raised in Boston so I know there isn't a bar out there like this one.
The service is great and the workers are friendly.
For those who wrote bad reviews I have a few things to say.

YA Heard- If it was your friends 30th b-day you and yoru friends couldn't of been so cheap and not a table.

SAC603- GET A NEW GIRLFRIEND! any guy that has a girlfriend that will go into a bar without him is just plain stupid.

Revolutionsucks- your just plain english DUMB. why would you wait in line for 2 hours if you didn't see anyone inside. Also I highly doubt you know any "toolbag" workers or the "loser" owner because if you did I doubt you would be waiting in line. grow up..

Shammgod- all i have to say is that you made yourself sound like a loser "Big Time Drunk" did you ever think maybe thats why you didn't get in...

PT17- You said you spent "2 Grand" at another bar... why didn't you just cough up $300 for a table and shut up.
Oh and I thought you left the line.... If thats the case how would you know the crowd was "dull"..........

For those who haven't been to Revolution don't let others fill our head with all this negative reviews. They are clearly upset that they didn't get in right away. If you have to wait alittle I would because you won't regret it after. The music is great and the drinks are priced good.

I'm usually not one to bother writing reviews but was really surprised to see the bad input on Rock Revolution. Until Revolution came to town there were no cool places to hang out in Boston that played such an awesome mix of fun music to dance to! I've been on both Fridays and Saturday nights and have a blast every time I go! A table at $300 is well worth the money for a large group (especially if it gets you in for free and you get a bottle of vodka with the mixers at that price?) We wind up there at some point most weekends! Sure there's a line but is there a place in Boston worth going to that doesn't have a line? These bars and clubs have a capacity strictly enforced by the BFD, they can only have so many people inside at a time or they can be shut down (think Station). It's crowded every time I go (which is often) but in my opinion, the music and the crowd inside are well worth the wait! As a life long resident of Boston this is the only place in town that I would bother waiting in line at!

This is the best bar in Boston, the crowd is beautful, the bartenders amazing (in both looks and service) and the music incredible. Any time I have friends in town from other cities we always go to Revolution, and everyone is blown away at how much fun it is!! This is what a bar/club is supposed to be!!
If you have not been to this place you are truly missing out! The atmosphere is electric and the staff is so personable and accomodating which is hard to find at a lot of Boston night spots!
Overall this bar is amazing for the atmosphere, music, and people---get down to Rev Rock and see what I mean!!

Cow print benches surround low cocktail tables perfect for setting for after work while the stage and dance floor cater to your inner rock star if you feel like coming out of your shell. The stars were aligned when Revolution Rock Bar opened its doors as we finally have a club that isn't pretentious or snobby in Boston. My boys and I came in on a Saturday night to a huge line (which generally means a good thing). I was not about to wait in line (I don't wait anywhere) so we were going to take off. However one of the doorman came over and told us that they had a couple tables available. The guy explained the process and introduced us to the VIP host.

The whole time they were totally professional and treated us with the upmost respect. Once thing I noticed is that they would go through the line and explain to people the reason for the long line, which I thought was the right thing to do.

The VIP host directed us to our table which was choicely located right in front of the main window. All the waitress were Hot! The DJ had just the right tunes a mix of techno/rock mixed in with some R&B.

Overall I believe this is the best place in town!

I originally went to Revolution for a work function but found myself back there last weekend for a birthday party. There was a pretty significant line at 10:30, but the door man told us that there is a separate line if you reserve a private table (which was done for the BDay). It worked perfectly because we got right in. It was pretty cool. They give the VIP treatment with a host introducing himself and escorting us to the table. Good service. The DJ played a wide range of music that everyone in my group liked. Our waitress was at our table all night and took really good care of us. By 12:30 the place was packed, but a good kind of packed where it was more girls than guys and a fun vibe. I?ll definitely check it out again.

This place is an absolute joke. I need to figure out who the business guru who thought making people wait in line for 2 hours is a good idea. I can see the plan now..."bro we got a sick mashup mix tonight....let's get some buzz and make everyone wait until midnight to get in! I easily saw 30 people cut out before my group of 20 did. I was there on Saturday before 930 too. NOBODY WAS INSIDE...unless you count dudes with fake tans, spiked hair and t shirts about 3 sizes too small crushing woo-woo and alabama slammers. Last time I looked this bar was in the most boring spot in Boston...not the Vegas strip. This bar kept out the wrong people. We're big time drunks who have hot dance moves and know a ton of people. I can't wait until they turn that place into a Dunkin Donuts in 3 months.

Although I had been warned that the line gets long, I felt that arriving at a Boston bar at 9 o'clock on a weekend night was still early enough to get in. Seeing as the majority of normal people looking to go out at night don't start their night before 10 o'clock, having a line around the block outside your bar does not add to it's appeal. In fact, while waiting at the front of the line for 45 minutes without moving, I witnessed more people leaving the line than entering into this bar. I may not be a business major, but making people wait outside of your bar when they could be inside spending money, does not make much sense to me. (However, the other bar managers in the area should send you a thank you note for all their business.) And what about your bartenders? On this past Saturday night, while losing an hour of my life that I will not get back, I looked inside to see a handful of poorly dressed cheesy people (the only kind that go to a bar at 8 pm on a Saturday night) standing around while the bartenders looked on hoping to find somone wanting to buy a drink. Yes, I'm sure they did all right that night, however they could have done a whole lot better had they had consistent business starting at 9 as the group that I was with (25 people in all) left and easily spent 2 grand at another bar around the corner. Apparently, the people running this establishment have not had much of a nightlife experience outside this one lame bar. The only positive is the $7 garage next door, however I'd recommend spending much more to park near a bar that is actually willing to take your money.

Absolute joke. My friend worked hard and arranged a close group of friends for a surprise 30th birthday party. The plan was to meet at Revolution at 9 for the surprise. We all showed up a little before and were met with a line of about 8 people. No problem considering there were about 10 people inside the bar. An hour and a half later we had to surprise the kid in the same spot from where we started. We had to keep sending text messages to the poor girl telling her we're not in yet and to stall. FInally, considering we hadn't moved all night.........surprise. Happy 30th. And let me stress the fact that the whole HOUR AND A HALF that we were outside in that line, there was NO ONE IN THAT PLACE. Honestly, we were looking in through the windows. Plenty of room. Its obvious this place likes having long lines for the people driving and walking by to see. Look at us. Our lines are around the corner, we're hot. Sure you're lines are long, there's no one inside. I will never go there again and encourage anyone who reads this to do the same. Of course bars and clubs have lines, but usually there's people inside these places. Not at Rock Revolution. I don't know when they thought they became so awesome. Downstairs is a dump. Like my basement. Damp and eeire. Oh and heads up for the dudes with the skin tight v-necks right out of Hampton. Bottom line. Don't be used by this place. You'll be in line all night watching 14 people inside wondering why the place is dead.

I have been to a lot of bars in Boston and the bar itself is nice, but it is nothing special. There is no attraction or gimmick that makes it anymore special than any other bar or nightclub downtown. I'd rather take my girlfriend to the Glass Slipper in Chinatown because they take better care of their patrons than this place did. Keep in mind, I HATE the Glass Slipper too. I arrived at Revolution at 9 PM on a Saturday and was at the front of the line, and remained at the front of the line for two hours. Periodically I was told by the bouncers that I would be let in in 10 minutes. This happened about 4 times. Eventually they let my girlfriend in and she went in on the condition that I would be let in 10 minutes later. An hour later, I was still waiting outside. The only patrons who were admitted into the bar were the people who spent $300 and bought a table. So while in theory there is no cover, if you want to frequent this bar you are going to have to chalk up $300 to be let in.

I can't blame the bouncers for the poor management. I believe they are sensible people and would have let me in , however, they were usurped by the owner of the bar who was outside doing his best to make sure that his bar wasn't getting any business that night by not allowing anyone inside. When I eventually got in (through the kitchen in the back because of a sympathetic bouncer) there was nothing in that bar that warranted the time and energy it took to get in. There was no gold, there were no leprechauns, there were no topless bartenders, there was no puppies, there was no hot dogs on tooth picks, there was no champagne room, and my shots did not come with a complementary lobster dinner. Any of those things would have validated the tribulation it took to gain entrance to this mediocre bar.

I went there with a group of friends to celebrate a birthday, we arrived at 9:15pm after reading the reviews here recommending an early arrival but decided we would give this place the benefit of the doubt since it has so many bad reviews...and it was the biggest mistake ever!!
We stayed in line for over 2 hrs!! Everytime we asked the bouncers why they wouldn't let people in when the Club was obviously empty (You can see inside while waiting) they couldn't offer an explanation and would just pretend they couldn't hear you!!
The drinks weren't worth their price, the place is too small, the bouncers rude and they don't realize the bad business practice that it is to keep your clientele freezing in the cold...Bottom line is, don't ever come to this place and you will save yourself the aggravation, boston is full of other places that want your money and will treat you 10 times better.

Went there for happy hour last night. Got there around 5:30. Waitstaff was friendly, hostess grabs your coat right at the door for a free coat check. Drinks come quickly and are mixed very well. Martinis $10 and beer $5. Crowd was mostly guys but no visible eye candy lol... Music was good- a mix of classic RnB and pop. They had a guy do some live music and he was good. Happily took requests from the crowd. Left around 9 and at that time the place wasn't crowded and there was no line outside. Would definitely go back again for happy hour but based on reviews, would stay away from a night party.

I went here for a friend's birthday. We got here so early and there was no line but were still made to wait. After a half hour the bouncers separated the crowd into two lines one line for people coming in for the birthday party (as we rented a room out for it!) and the other for regular club goers. Even though they knew we were there for the party which at this time had already started inside! and was a surprise party! Me and my group were still made to wait outside (they would only let in a few people every 5 minutes or so...) We ended up waiting for over an hour when the inside of the club was not even half full and we missed the surprise. Don't go here thinking if you rent out a room that means you'll be automatically let in...it was such a waste of money and I was appalled that we still had to wait despite the fact that it was for a surprise party. Will NEVER come here again because to top it off the inside of the club did not make it worthwhile with the lousy drinks and bad music.

Like the other reviews, I am appalled by just how bad this place is. I went for a friend's birthday. We got there early so we did not have trouble with the line but about 10 minutes after we arrived there was a big line outside - which was ridiculous since inside was EMPTY. The music was absolutely terrible. There was no rock and nothing revolutionary. I felt like i was listening to Kiss 108 in 1994. They played a mix of Salt & Peppa, CC Peniston and of course, remembered to play Whoop There It Is. Ugh. Since when can a place call itself a Rock Bar but play R& B hits from 1994. The staff was incredibly pretentious however, they couldn't pay ME to go back there. Yuck.

Went once and got there at 1030...the line was huge but decided to wait anyways. Waited till 12 and decided this was stupid and went to get a drink somewhere else. Tried one more time this past weekend b/c the music there on saturday nights is AWESOME. This time we got there at 915 and there was a small line but figured we'd HAVE to get in b/c its so early...waited until 1130 and still hadn't gotten in. We contemplated leaving but we were so cold and had waited so long that we decided to stick it out; at that point, you're so ticked that you refuse to leave line (everyone else around had the same idea). Bouncers kept saying "in 15 minutes I'm letting 50 in" which NEVER happened. They'll tell you what you want to here to keep you in line so it looks like this place is amazing. I understand they want to run it like NY and LA clubs, but that doesn't work in Boston when places close at 2. I will NEVER EVER EVER try to go to this place again.

Had I been smart enough to read the reviews first, I never would have gone here.

It was my friend's birthday though and she wanted to so I didn't have much of a say. I was told that you have to get there around 9:30 otherwise the line is bad. I was in line at 9:45 and finally gave up at 11 after it was apparent that no one was getting in. The only reason the line had moved at all was because people had given up and left. There was a VIP line of sorts and that was the only line moving. There was no cover but the bouncers were profitting by telling people that $20 would get them in.

Half empty place with too long of a line. Never got in and never plan on going back. For being one of the only bars in the Financial District, this place is not going to last long with the way things are now.

Don't waste your time

I've been to Rev Rock a couple times and I had fun each time I went. The music is always good, love Rick Rick Rick Rude! If I can dance and get a drink in less than 20 minutes, I'm happy. I've always found that the bartenders make a good drink for the price. The line can be long, but where isn't it? It's better to wait in line for Rev than Liquor Store. I'd definitely check it out for something different.

I'm surprised to read such negative reviews of Revolution Rock Bar! Everytime I go in there, usually 3 or 4 times a month, I have a blast. I usually dance all night with my friends and love the music. Drinks are a little high, but unless your going to a dive, they are comparable to other trendy, hip places in the city!

All and all, I think Revolution ROCKS!!!!

Plain and simple, this place is over-priced, over-hyped, doesn't rock, isn't revolutionary, and it exceptionally full of itself. I've been and got in twice--one of those times, I had to bribe the bouncer $40 because my friends were already inside. Once inside, beers hover around $8 and drinks $10+...someone tell these guys this is BOSTON, not MANHATTAN. The music: average and unexciting mix of hip-hop, pop, and 80s hits. Snore. (Where's this rock??)

Aside from the times I've gotten in, there are also the times I've failed to get in... This past Saturday, a group of 8 friends and I tried to go to RRB. We arrived at 9:15PM. At 10:00, we still were not in. In fact, the only reason we even advanced in the absurd line was that others gave up on the line and left. After calmly confronting the bouncers to inquire how much longer we'd be waiting in line, we were told "a while," as they had to let in all of the people who had reserved tables first. Around 10:30, a manager came down the line announcing that he had 2 tables for sale if anyone wanted to get in right away. The price for my group: $700 (two bottles of booze)! No thanks. The manager then announced that it'd be smart to buy the table because "half of the line wasn't getting in tonight"...yet the bar was still very, very empty inside. After this unfriendly confrontation, my friends and I left.

The eight of us will never try to get into the Revolution.

This bar was neither "revolutionary" nor "rocky." A better name might be "Mediocre Rap Bar." They played latin rap most of the night, the crowd was sleazy, and the drinks were overpriced. My friends and I would have left much earlier than we did, but since the cover was so high, we thought it might get better.

Someone needs to tell the people that work at this club that this is Boston, NOT LA, NOT Vegas! The bars here close at 2 so there's no reason to make people wait outside for 2 hours before getting in when there are about 15 people in the club! We went despite hearing there's always a 2 hour wait (no matter whether there's a long line or not) only because it was a friend's birthday and he really wanted to spend it there. We got there before 9 as it was recommended to us by the VIP manager that we wouldn't have a problem getting in. There were about 10 people in line and looking in the window, there were about 5 people in the club so we thought it wouldn't take too long, WRONG! Despite seeing that we were waiting in the 18 degree weather, the bouncers were only pulling the pretty, scantily clad (despite the below freezing temp) obviously under 21 girls in. They said they wouldn't let anyone in line in until 1030 because they wanted to fill up the reserved tables (that you can get when you buy a bottle of Sky Vodka or something along those lines for $300). After about an hour, the line grew to about 30 people and there were only 5 people in front of us but at that point, we decided to leave because we didn't want to give this cheesy club our business. We weren't the only ones either, many people were fed up with the sketchy way this club is run and were all leaving to spend their $ elsewhere.

My favorite part of coming here is that the staff (including the management) remember your face and are always so inviting! I have been to this place twice, I got in once. The first time I got in, I had to leave because my friends who arrived ten minutes later would have to wait an hour and a half to get in. The downstairs was closed for a private party and the upstairs was pretty much empty. The second time I went (for my birthday) my friends who got there ten minutes before me were inside the empty club while I stood in line for an hour and eventually ended up leaving. We got there orignally right when the opened and they delayed the opening a half hour and told us to come back later and they would let us in....we did, and they didn't. My friends who did get into the bar said it was empty and pretty lame because the entire crowd of that should be in the bar were outside in line. The staff was rude and acted to superior to the people they are supposed to be serving. I will never go to this place again, you can have a much better time listening to a live band somewhere else in the fanieul hall area.

Great music, great atmosphere, nicely decorated, good prices but....My boyfriend went outside to smoke with a couple of his friends and would not be let back in. We ended up having to leave because they wouldn't let him back in even with his hand stamped! If that is the club's policy then maybe the door staff should warn smokers about it. I do not smoke and neither do the others I was with so we ended up having to leave and it ruined the night.

I went on a Thursday night. The AC was broken, it was so hot and sweaty. Besides that it was TOO loud!!! I had several guys literally grab me...I couldn't hear, anything and the bartender was nice but visibly annoyed. I stayed for 10 minutes tops!

Hot spot on Friday and Saturday nights. Get there early because there will probably be a huge line. Usually a good crowd of 20's and 30s in there and it's a great bar for singles and large groups as well. There are plenty of bartenders so it's easy to get a drink but I'd recommend getting a table if possible, especially when with a larger group. There are enough waitresses that you'll get your drinks quickly at the tables as well. The staff is great as far as both service and hospitality. The music is always great whether there is a live band playing or not. Overall a really great experience everytime I've been in. Highly recommended

Went here with a co-worker, she said that it was the new place meet people and hear great DJ's...Yeah, right! This place is nothing more than a glorified Hard Rock Cafe. Went in on a wednesday and was appalled by the atmosphere, lack of crowd, the attitude, the antlers, etc.... The scantily clad bartenders made decent drinks, too bad they had to work between their manager's come-on's. If you have with some money, a nice suit, a credit card and no class, come here... If you are a professional woman at home at places that aren't trying so hard.... Go home.

I love this place...great music and an awesome mix of people. My friends and I have been many times, and have never had a problem getting in. It is one of the best dance places in the area. This bar is a great addition to the Boston nightlife, and a nice alternative to traditional Fanueil Hall bars. I would definitely suggest making a point to try Revolution out. You will not be disappointed!!!

I was tentative about going here on a Saturday night after reading these reviews but I have to say it was a pretty good time. It is in an odd location - I know people who go here for after work but hadn't really heard of people going here on the weekends. Overall though I thought it was a pretty good time - I spent less than 5 minutes waiting outside and the bar was crowded when we got in but not so crowded that you couldn't move around. The only dissappointment was that they didn't really seem to play any rock music. They had hip-hop dance music downstairs and top 40 stuff playing upstairs with an occassional rock song. Even that wouldn't have been bad except that the djs seemed to be playing an excessive amount of 90s throwback songs - a few now and then are fun but after a while I felt like I was in a time warp where nothing after 2002 existed. My friends and I decided to try the place for the rock music thinking it would be something different than every other bar in the area but they didn't really seem to live up to their name. Even if they weren't going to have live rock bands it would be cool if at least the upstairs played actual rock music and maybe they could even highlight a lot of lesser known bands and local stuff - there really isn't a good place that does that in the area so it's clearly a niche that could be filled.

If you want to wait in a line for over 2 hours to get into a empty club...and be harrassed by the doormen and asked to reveal body parts in order to get in..head down to revolution for a night you'll not soon forget. One of my friends held her birthday party there this weekend. She bought a table and had told the manager it was for about 15-20 friends and was assured it was not a problem. The "table" was more like a bench that held about 4 people. The girl at the door that was controlling the parties was a COMPLETE NIGHTMARE. She was not only rude, she was absurdly dumb. She could not accomidate us in any way to make our experience better, nor did she even try. In fact, the entire staff had an enormous attitude problem. After letting 17 people in under my friends list they were not letting anyone else in until midnight, both for private parties and normal patrons. THE BAR WAS EMPTY except for the private parties. I am not too sure how this bar makes money, but it isn't worth standing out in the cold for two hours. If you have a choice to either go out to this bar or stay at home - STAY AT HOME!!!

It is so unfortunate. I went to revolution rock bar two times and realized that they were holding up the line for this "BAR" while it was empty inside.....this is a bar and not club so why give attitude? Also, there is one bathroom downstairs and if you went back upstairs to use the bathroom they wouldn't let you back down with your friends.....so it was either wait twenty minutes for a dirty bathroom if you could hold it... or leave your friends.

this saturday I went to revolution early so i wouldn't have to wait in the pointless line....when i got there they refused to let me and my friend in due to private parties and told me to come back at midnight.....the place was empty and it was saturday night.

so unfortunately, this bar (which has so much potential) is trying to be something its not by only allowing table reservations on saturday nights and keeping a line in the freezing cold so the place looks popular......MAY I REMIND YOU.....ITS JUST A BAR!.....the doormen are not helpful and the management is lacking...however, once you do get in, its really fun. Great music and great crowd...its just a shame you are too upset TO ENJOY IT once you get in.

Well we've been to this place a couple times on Saturday nights. It's always really busy when we've been there, which was around midnight. The crowd is kind of mixed, mix of faneuil hall college crowd through 30's. I'd say about half women/men.

It's a pretty big place, music was mostly mashups of rock music when we've been there. Kind of a random location if you don't know the Faneuil area though, but it's been a fun place to stop in for some drinks when we've been there.

Revolution is one of the best places (if not the best) to go around the financial district after work. It's a completely different concept, not your average after work bar. The service is really quick; they practically had it timed when your drink was gone. The bands were fun, but haven't seen too many there yet. The crowd is an interesting mix of suits and ties and jeans and t-shirts. It's loud, but you get used to it, after all, it IS a rock bar!

I went here Friday night after hearing some rave reviews about the place, and was disappointed. The band that was playing was SO bad that we actually left as soon as they came on. Before the band came on, the bar appeared pretty cool. Lots of space, not a pretentious crowd. I have heard they also have a club downstairs, but this was not open yet. There also weren't too many people there. I get the feeling that this may be more of a happy hour bar, given the location. They may be able to draw in more of a late night crowd, but they'll have to work on booking better bands!!!

An eclectic vibe makes for a great night out. Barely two weeks after this bar opened, one of my co-workers organized a Thursday night happy hour there. Best time I had in a long time! Upon walking in, from the walls, to the tables, to the menu, one cannot help but notice the rock-themed, yet extremely tasteful decor. The crowd ranged from suit-and-tie executives to jeans-and-Tshirt college grads, which makes for a welcoming environment for virtually anyone who wants to grab a couple of drinks and appetizers after work. The service was good, and so was the food - I recommend the nacho plate. Best of all, though, was the live entertainment. The local rock band that evening played a wonderful mix of hard, mellow, and danceable music. Great place overall, and I look forward to more happy hours there.
