When we moved into the city we didn't know where to go for good Mexican food. We tried a few places and this is IT! Their food is always fresh and very tasty, and the cost is pretty inexpensive (adults under $10) Service was okay, as the waitresses didn't know a lot of english, but it wasn't a big problem for us. They stay open late, too!
PROS: Fresh, authentic mexican food at reasonable cost
CONS: Staff don't speak much English

Totally Disappointing
by dannyjames1
Slow service (and only in Spanish), even though the restaurant was virtually empty and 2 waitresses were seemingly "assigned" to our table. Don't try ordering a beer based on their beer display because they only carry certain ones - the one I settled on was not even in their display. My son wouldn't eat his fries -- no wonder, they tasted like a burrito. They wouldn't accept a gift certificate that I obtained from a prominent local radio station. I couldn't determine why they wouldn't accept it (because of the language barrier) but my point of contention was that it had no expiration date on it. They only give you a fork: My son had to stir his coffee with a fork and I had to butter my bread with one.
Pros: Decent tables
Cons: Several

Despite the poor reviews from 2008, went to El Ranchito and had a great meal with good service at bidget prices. Plus they are open very late and delover very late. 99cent margaritas (no limit) on Thursdays!

RIP Old Ranchito
by annz0r
My husband and I used to love this restaurant for its authentic food and long delivery hours. Recently (as in the past month or so) El Ranchito must have come under new ownership, because the food is now terrible, they charge extra for cheese and sour cream (even if you have a dish that's supposed to include these items), the service is bad, and they changed their hours, so you can no longer order so late. We were extremely disappointed in this change, and will no longer be ordering from El Ranchito.

Don't order from here
by fahlgs
Don't order from here. We ordered online and after we waited an hour, we called. They claimed they didn't receive our order. After I complained, they suddenly had our order and claimed it was on its way. We waited 25 minutes (they told us it would be here in 5 to 10) and called back. We were first placed on hold and then told to wait another 5 to 10 minutes. The food never arrived.
Pros: Food is good and reasonably priced
Cons: Terrible service and they lie
