The hype for this place and crazy and so we thought to try it. Good cajun place (feel like we don't have enough of those around) The place doesn't look too great on the outside so we didn't think to go there until a friend recommended it. Good cheese biscuits and the shrimp was tasty
Amazing authentic Cajun food. There are variations of hotness for the food that the servers will explain in depth. They are very friendly and helpful. There is something for everyone on the menu! The atmosphere is a vibrant New Orlands type theme. It is a little bit pricey but well worth it, a favorite spot for most locals.
I eat here frequently, it is one of my favorites. I usually go with the NoCarb Jambalya, but the Cajun stir fry and black catfish are also very good. They do have a full bar, but I don't drink alcohol when I eat here, so I really can't say much about this service. The wait staff are great, and the portions are generous. Food, of course, is always delicious.
Delicious meal, great service. Love eating here. Big fan of the Cajun stir fry, but also like the No Carb Jambalaya. Dessert are huge, more than one person can eat. One of the best causal dining experience available in the downtown area.
Had dinner here last night for my husbands Birthday. The dinner was good! At the end of the meal we ordered dessert and I brought the majority of my slice of coconut cake home due to the fact that it was so large. We wanted to eat the remaining cake tonight after dinner and while we ate the cake we came across MOLD!!!! I immediately contacted the restaurant to notify them. When I spoke with Andrew (manager) he was very condescending and told me that the cake was just made Saturday & couldn't be molding. This was very frustrating because we spent a considerable amount of money at his restaurant and he didn't even want to hear the information that I was giving him. I will not come back to the restaurant nor will I recommend it after I was treated in this manner by the manager!!!!
I've eaten at Heaven on Seven three times in the past 6 months. The first time, in Summer of 09, was my introduction to "Cajun" food - and I enjoyed it, though I though that everything was a bit "sweet", where I had expected "spicy". Atmosphere is interesting - noisy, lots of hot sauce bottles everywhere, small dining table loaded with ottles of hot sauces - and the restaurant is right in the heart of Downtown Naperville, which makes for a great after dinner expeience with the River Walk and all of the summertime activity in the bustling downtown.
Each return visit to Heaven on Seven has been less pleasant. First, the service has been more inattentive and ...yes..."rude" each time.
Second, after eating more authentic Cajun at different places, I've come to realize that the menu here is considerably "sweetened" and "blanded" to be more palatable to the average diner. It is a "safe" version of Cajun.
Honestly, after my last visit in November 09, this has dropped from my list of places to take friends for a dinner out. There are too many other good choices in Naperville to be bothered with rude and unattentive service.
Pros: Good food and plenty of it! good location
Cons: inattentive service / pricey / cramped
My wife and I had the nicest time. It was close to the shopping in Naperville and quiet. The food was outstanding.
