I have been enjoying Aurelio's pizza since 1967, and it never gets old. The sauce is the best, I prefer the thin crust with sausage. A little higher in price the others, but the quality and taste are worth the price.

What can be said about Aurelio's in homewood? Nothing positive, that's for sure.\r\n\r\nThe sole selling point for this place is that it caters to the high school teen demographic. That isn't savy marketing, its that they work there and go to get a discount. Other than that I can think of no plausible reason a sane person would ever give them their business. The service is abominable, the food has the taste and consistency of a salt lick, and the building is in disrepair. \r\n\r\nCase in point, consider the dining experience I had there last night. I grew up in the area and loathed it back then, but with all the other eateries closing down my family wasn't exactly spoiled for choice. So I decided to see if ten years had been long enough for them to get it together.\r\n\r\nWaitress ""took"" our order, and then brought us completely different things - my brother got the wrong soda, my father a different beer, and I got a completely different sandwich. When this was brought up, the waitress did nothing to remedy it. Such a quality establishment, who gives a care what the customer wants, they are getting what is convienent for us to serve!\r\n\r\nThe food was the usual disgusting fare the place has served up since I was a child - heavy on grease, essentially pressed salt, and unappealing to every other physical sense. We couldn't even finish our meal.\r\n\r\nWe got an interesting lesson in how gravity works while we were there. The place is so ill kept that the tables lean. We discovered this when my brother's drink coasted down the table atop a film of condensation from the high humidity. Said water film also showed how lax their cleanliness standards are. On top of falling apart, the place is filthy.\r\n\r\nAurelio's has always been and remains one of the single worst restaurants in the suburbs. That it remains open while other places close boggles my mind. I hope it burns to the ground.

This is the location that started it all for Aurelio's! This is large, 2 floor facility with outdoor seating available, weather permitting. The best thin crust with the fresh ingredients in the south burbs! A must eat!!

I had Aurelio's ship three pizzas to me out of state: 2 mushroom & black olive and 1 pepperoni. I was excited when I received them because there was SO much cheese on them and the toppings were fresh and plentiful.\n\nWe first baked one of the mushroom & black olive ones and followed the directions to a T. It looked so good coming out of the oven. We each took one bite and both immediately said ""Waaaay too salty!"" It wasn't just a little too salty - it was WAAAAY too salty - to the point where we didn't want to finish it, but since we paid $134 for three pizzas we felt we had to eat it. We then cooked the second pizza with the same toppings and had the same results. We shared some with two other people and they had the same reaction as us!\n\nSo today I called Aurelio's and told them of the problem. They said they didn't know what caused the saltiness and said they don't add anything extra to pizzas that are shipped. Then she said maybe it was the pepperoni that was salty; however, that's the one pizza we haven't had yet! Now I'm wondering if I should even bother cooking that one! \n\nBut the one thing that really shocked me is she said OTHER PEOPLE HAD COMPLAINED ABOUT THE SAME PROBLEM! Now if that's the case, don't you think they should figure out what's wrong? Shouldn't she have offered to refund our money...or at least part of it? We order from a few other pizza places all the time (and have those pizzas shipped too) and have never had a problem with them being too salty. And they are much cheaper than Aurelio's! Not happy with the pizza, not happy with Aurelio's customer service.\n\n$134 for 3 salty pizzas? Never again.\n

As a native Homewood resident, there was only one place to go for pizza...Aurelios. Unfortunately, this place has lost its way. \r\n\r\nToo expensive\r\nNot consistent\r\nToo expensive not to be consistent\r\n\r\nPoor Joe Sr. is probably rolling in his grave on how bad his son is running the joint....into the ground. \r\n\r\n

If you grew up on Aurelio's pizza in Homewood, nothing else compares. Of course you have to like thin crust to really appreciate the taste. The secret is in the sauce...and you can only find it at the Homewood location.

This is the first and oldest Aurelio's Pizza location. The menu includes pizza, pasta, salads, sandwiches, soups, and desserts. They have great thin crust pizza and it's even better when you request it from the old oven. The atmosphere is nice and it is always crowded. You can never go wrong with Aurelio's, everyone loves it!

I remember way back when Aurelio's was located just down the street in a small restaurant with people lined up outside waiting for a table. Their pizza was great then as is now. This pizza has flavor compared to other places and the right balance of ingredients so there is a compromise of flavor. Those who don't like the taste of Aurelio's probably were raised up eating food from a box or can and wouldn't know great taste if it fell on them. I tried a lot of pizzas in my time, from the ""City"", to the suburbs, and Aurelio's is simply the best!

Aurelio's Pizza is pretty good..I can't say that it's the best I've ever tasted. One thing I have always loved about their pizza is their cheese. It's definately high quality. I have even had their pizza delivered to Michigan and the pizza was good, but the cheese was exception. Sounds a little weird, but it's the truth

Aurelio's is the best thin crust pizza I've ever had! I grew up with it, so I'm a bit biased, but my husband grew up just outside NYC. He now says it's HIS favorite! We miss it terribly out in Oregon. Will someone please open a franchise out here?

Ive tried Aurelio's several times because people always talk it up. Each time I am always disappointed. I keep thinking maybe Im getting a bad pie but its the same thing every time. The pizzas are just \r\naverage, and to be honest the sauce is way too sweet and the sausage is second rate. It is in no way \r\nthe best the Chicago area has to offer. I think its a step up from Pizza Hut, if you want real Chicago pizza Beggar's Pizza is a sleeper spot but makes one of the best pizzas on the south side

I really don't see what all the fuss is about with this place. All the locations taste the same to me. The pizza sauce really tastes like a can of cheap speghetti O's, minus the O's. It's a nice place to be at but really the food is just average. After people talk it up so much it really just makes it that much more disappointing. There are much better places to go on the South Side.

Honest, I've lived in Chicago and the south burbs...I've had all of the big name pizzas all over the city. No pizza on planet Earth will ever taste better. Believe it.\nMake a trip to the Homewood location, it's the best.\nThe antipasta salad is good too.

Oh how I miss this pizza! It is the only ""real"" pizza for me. I have tried to find something like it and have yet to succeed. The crust, the cheese, the sauce (perfect, not to sweet or spicy) and the toppings, they are the best. Having eaten this pizza, nothing else measures up.\nI moved to Central Illinios in 1999 and would take a weekend and go get me some pizza! I even would bring some home with me to bake later. Then in 2002 I moved to the Seattle, Washington area and how I miss Aurelio's! Someday I will have it sent to me, but it is a bit costly to do that. So for now I just miss it.

I've been tasting Aurelio's since I was a wee little one!! Highly reccommend the pizza no matter what store! I live in Denver now and we travel 35 minutes just to go get Aurelios out here! It tastes just the same! Very consistent (food quality) in all their stores. In addition to the pizza, I love their subs..they're so good! The crust on the pizza is one of a kind!

I love real pizza not that ""fake crust"" $5.00 kind. None can compare to Aurelio's. There are several franchises in and around Chicago and the Northwest Indiana region for convenience! The pizza is awesome. Picture a golden brown crust with cheese all the way on the rim. So you get that nice snap at the end. Sometimes you feel the need to eat the rim first it so good! Next the sauce. The sauce is perfect not too sweet, not too spicey, and not too bland. Just the right amount too. I am not a big fan of sausage but even I love the real italian sausage. Toppings are abundant too. Not skimpy. Top it off with real mozzarella cheese and a dash of oregano. AHHH! It smells as good as it tastes. If we carry-out I can not wait until I get home to savor my first slice!

I used to live closer. One Friday a month the whole family went to Aurelio's. The crust is light, the sauce has a sweet tang, real italian sausage(with spice the way it's supposed to be)and the cheese/the best part) is over abundant. I am 37 years old and am amazed at the taste, service, and value. My 12 year old son has taken a road trip with mom just for the pizza,670 miles round trip. Now they will deliver it ready to cook thru the mail. I've sent them here and to a ""doubter"" in Minnesota. No-one that tries it doubt's that Aurelio's is the best pizza ANYWHERE!

I can remember eating and enjoying Aurelio's for about the past 35 years. I even remember as a small child when Mama Aurelio would come around give the kids breadsticks while we were waiting for our pizza. Nobody else's pizza anywhere can compete with Aurelio's pizza. Normally I try not to over eat but when it's Aurelio's all bets are off. Most times leaving the Homewood or Crete stores I can barely make it to the car. Mere words can not do the taste justice. To say the least, it is taste bud bliss. Like many I no longer live in Illinois. Every time I get back up there, we must have Aurelio's pizza. Without Aurelio's the visit is unfulfilled. I mean why go there if you can't have Aurelio's!!!

I lived in Homewood for over 30 years and moved up North about 10 years ago. Aurelio's has always been the best pizza ever. We still drive 60 miles to Homewood on occasion to get a pizza. We also found out that the Oak Brook Terrace branch & the new Chicago location branch are just as good as the Homewood one. We at least go twice a month, to the all you can eat on Monday or Tuesday in Oak Brook Terrace. Aurelio's will always be my top choice. People who don't like the pizza, probably don't have great taste buds!!! AURELIO'S IS THE BEST!!!

I head to Aurelio's a few times a month and everytime it's worth the drive. I love that pizza!\n\nI would recommend starting with the excellent Minestrone soup. After that it's on to the main event... the pizza. I usually get what's called a Super Six and the pizza is always cooked to perfection. I like my pizza a bit crispier so I ask for extra cook time and Aurelio's always deliver.\n\nThe pizza comes on wire racks so it's never greasy and the crust is always nice and crisp. The sauce is an excellent blend that is not too sweet and not too tart. All the ingredients are super fresh and you can tell with just the smell that you're about to bite into a world class pie. \n\nOne taste and you'll know why it's worth the drive to Aurelio's pizza.

I've lived in Chicago, Kansas City, St. Louis and Springfield, Missouri and traveled all over. Aurelio's is not only Chicago's best but the nations's best. If only they would consider putting a restaurant in the Springfield, Missouri area so others would understand what I keep telling them.

This is the best pizza in the south suburban area. Their spinach thin crust pizza is simply delicious, I also like their spinach calabrese. We eat there about once a week. The service there is also fast. The dining room can be completely seated but it does not take long for your order to come out.

Aurelio's Pizza is the best restuarant I have ever eaten at, and I have eaten at allot from having a large group of my family in the food bussiness. I have been going there since I was a little child, and I still love going back to where I grew up. It is a lovely restuarant and has excellent service. And no other Aurelio's comes close to this one, and that is because, this one is the original Aurelio's. No other restuarant does it better.

This little place has the best pizza, prices service and ambience I know in the area. You can go there with a group of friends and with the comfortable atmosphere and relaxed servers stay until close and not realize the time that went by. \n\nI love this place. No one is in a hurry to rush you out of there like other popular restaurants. \n\nThe deep dish pizza compares to nothing I have ever had since moving out west. Anytime I get back to the area I stop in for a deep dish spinach pie.

I moved to California from Chicago 20 years ago. Missed the Pizza. Just moved to St. Paul MN and was delighted to see that there is a Branch of the Aurelios Family in Roseville MN. When checking out great pizza in the Twin Cities you should check out the Aurelios in Roseville its been there since 1959. Just thought the people in MN might want to try this great pizza.

Any pizza place can through ingredients together to make a pie , face it it's not rocket science. Aurelios has a taste that is definitely unique. The sauce is unique and the cheese is very special . this is no run of the mill franchise pie. Every ingredient must be of exacting standards, per the owners. Definitely worth the trip.

I have had pizza all over the country and Aurelio's pizza especially the 22 combo and the supersix simply has the best sauce and topping combo for thin crust pizza. The Homewood anchor is of course the best place to go. Their spinach calabrese and garlic bread are also very good. Every once and a while the crust can get a little overbaked but it is Aurelio's still tops in my book.

I moved to Texas in 1989 and the only thing I miss about Chicago is Aurelio's pizza. There is no pizza in the Dallas-Ft Worth area even remotely as good as this. As a matter of fact, about the only time I eat pizza is at Aurelio's when I'm in Chicago.\n\nThe antipasto salad with the house dressing is excellent also.

I lived in homewood for 4 years and fell in love with Aurelio's Pizza especially their stuffed pizza and calabrese. I moved to the far west suburbs and only get Aurelio's once in a while. But thank goodness I read that Aurelio's is opening a restaurant in Geneva!!! A real Godsend!\n

Absolutely the BEST pizza in Chicago. We lived there for over a year and this was our FAVORITE place to go. The atmosphere, the service and the Deep Dish Pizza Pie was unbelievable! We actually hated to leave Chicago once we discovered this wonderful exerience. Whether it was the restaurant in Homewood (?) or any of the expansion stores, the quality and ambience was always the same. How can you rate them #6? In my book, this pizza parlor is number 1. I wish there was a way to get it in Pennsylvania....

I have never had a better pizza then Aurelio's. I live and grew up in the far West suburbs (Geneva Saint Charles) and all the pizza is the same none seem to seperate themselves from each other. My wife introduces me to Aurelio's pizza and I was instantly hooked. I still live in the West suburbs and bring home an Aurelio's pizza when ever I am in the south suburbs of Chicago. The restuarant provides a friendly environment for all ages.
