I would never suggest anyone go to Fox Valley Internal Medicine.
If you ever want a doctors office to call you back, send in your prescriptions in on a timely matter, follow up with anything or remotely care about anything regarding you or your heath. This not the place to go.

I have never encountered such terrible customer service as this doctors office. Every time I need to speak with someone I get forwarded to my doctors nurse whom I have left numerous messages for on many different occasions. I have yet to hear back from her. The doctors have no comments when you ask them. Big shock, they don't care, you already paid your co-pay.

They do recommend this fancy new website though, you can ask all your questions through there and ""contact"" them that way. Now, not only can I not have my doctors office answer my phone call, but I can wait staring at a computer screen. Goes to show how lazy, ineffective and unhelpful that staff is.

All in all, decent doctors, but that staff sucks so bad you're never going to reach your doctor anyway. So get a new one.

I was a patient at FVIM about 5 years ago and recently went back for a simple prescription. As a returning patient Dr. Tomlin worked with me and he was very caring and helpful. However, when I received my bill I was charged an additional $73.29 for a ""new patient exam"". I called and eventually spoke with Joy the office manager for about 10 minutes. She said that I had not had an appointment in 3 years so according to ""coding guidelines"" I was given the ""new patient exam"" in addition to the doctors visit for the prescription. During my visit, at no time was I told that I would receive the additional exam but they charged me for it anyway. The office manager Joy said that she would not remove the $73.29 charge and that I should have asked about what exams I was receiving even though I was unaware of the ""coding guidelines"". ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Here is some advice for FVIM. Please give me the service I ask for, and if there are extra exams that are needed, simply tell me about them while I'm there. Don't slip extra exams in my visit and say I should have asked or I should have known about the ""coding guidelines"". FVIM can make this right by negotiating my $73.29 charge, they have my phone number. If not, my family and I will not be returning to FVIM.

I highly recommend Dr. Tomlin - seems very interested in me & my health goals & best interests. He's always spent a good deal of time with me; never seems rushed. I'm pretty picky about my docs; Doc Tomlin's the best.

Pros: Customer service/office staff, atmosphere, on time with the appointment, Dr. Tomlin

Cons: I can't think of any

.

The doctors were pretty good, competent and attentive. The office staff is as helpful as a rash. You must always leave voicemails, which they do not return for several days. As I would love to plan ahead for illness, sometimes I need a prescription sooner than 3 days later.......
