Great place for fine dining on the SouthSide. Nice wine selection, eclectic food choices, and superior service.

It's expecially nice for lunch. Between the sunshine, food, and peaceful surroundings, it calls for a pleasurable afternoon

Yum - food is great. A much needed type of restaurant needed on the south side. Great for a date and/or guys night out - The food is excellent.

Tasteful atmosphere and fabulous selection. The food is tasty and plentiful. The wine is a bit pricey, but the selection is ample. Parking is easy and in a very good neighborhood, much better and safer than I've experienced on the Northside.

Pros: Menu is diverse and provides many interesting choices

Cons: Drinks are a bit pricey

Restaurants like Koda are sorely needed on the south and southwest side of the city and suburbs.

The French descriptor is loose and admitted to by the ownership. More like New American.

Many of the patrons seemed to prefer the daily specials, but my perception was an earlybird offering in disguise - you know smaller portions at lower prices.

Ordered off the menu: scallop appetizer ( excellent ), brie/pear pizza ( slightly bland and overportioned ), lamb and short rib entrees ( both of these could have come from smaller animals ), wasabi mashed potatoes ( overflavored ), chocolate cake dessert ( excellent ).

Wine- Mt. St. Helena ( Not to be cofused with the volcano ) cabernet ($48 excellent)

Improvements needed - waitstaff need more training especially with the wine line list, could be a little darker in the dining room, no reservations?, and parking is extremely limited on the premises ( 12 spaces? ). Of course, there is street parking but remember this is still the south side of Chicago.

I am very impressed with how the Daleys ( owners ) know what their customers like. Patrons seemed very happy.
