This was so disappointing. I expected a real department store with cologne, nice clothes, and other things you'd normally expect. Instead, I mostly found way overpriced and often tasteless housewares ($300 for a tabletop gorilla - what?). I would have considered spending more, but the service was awful. If I weren't young and Latino, I might not have annoyed the guy at the register so much. Unless you're spending a wad of cash, you're basically hurried out the door.

I was very dissapointed, I shop in NY often and when I was coming to Chicago I was sooo excited to be able to go to Bloomingdales and when I got there I was sooooo dissapointed. The store is tiny in comparison. They don't carry any of the brand names that I expect at Bloomingdales like Tory Burch etc. The purse department at Target is bigger and good luck trying to find a sales person to help you!! Very dissapointing :(

I have been a fan of a great cosmetics line, I was in awe at the service I got. I went late about 7ish and went to get a fragrence. I walked past the Kiehl's counter and was greated by a guy there that was awesome. He said hi and when I walked he let me look around. He then showed me what he liked, fantastic taste by the way. When he took me to his register to ring me up he offered me a free consultation and I agreed. He spent about an hr ( till 820ish which is after close for their store) and I ended up loving the line. I've been back twice since to see him and he always shows me what I like, and samples me on what im not convinced on. I loved it there, I hope you guys do to!

Pros: Fantastics Cosmetics

Cons: Closes too early

I went into Bloomingdales set to purchase a Toywatch. When I got to the display, the lone sales girl was too busy pounding on a watch of another customer. I waited patiently seeing as the person came before me. But I also made it clear that I was bent on buying a watch. She sawe me but did not even bother to find a sales person to assist me or to even just advise me that she will be with me shortly. I was so irked that I decided not to buy it. I'll just buy it in Saks or Nordstrom.\r\n\r\nI moved to the Chanel counter to purchase a pressed powder. Same thing. No sales person; they were all busy making up one another at the Clinique counter.\r\n\r\nLazy lazy sales people. No wonder we're in a recession.

Pros: location

Cons: service

Bloomingdale's at 900 North Michigan Avenue has a great selection and very good variety. I found many great things on clearance including a very nice Ashworth visor for $3.00. The only thing disappointing is their customer service and some of the employees. There is only one customer service agent there at one time, and the line was pretty long. My rating: B-
