Wow! They really cleaned up the place. Looks great and the food is great as usual! Best Indian food in Chicago. Hands Down.

Okay, so if you look in from the street, this appears to be a run-down dive. Not so! The decor is about as stripped down and lame as can be ? certainly not a place to go for ambiance. But man, the food is really spot-on. If you live in the area and aren?t too familiar with Indian fare, go give them $10 and they?ll give you a Styrofoam container that you can take to the hot bar and fill to your heart?s content. You really cant go wrong, put everything in there you can fit and then some! Will fill you up ten times over. Delicious!

Pros: Great Hot Bar, great take out deal

Cons: Ambiance (lack of)

The food here is as delicious as anything you'll find on Devon, and the restaurant is easier to get to via public transportation. It's right off the Belmont red & brown line stop.
The buffet is a great value with several vegetarian options. I recommend the mixed vegetable curry and the aloo gobi. Though the food is always very good, sometimes the thickness of the dishes is inconsistent.
I agree with the other reviewer that the decor leaves a little to be desired. The pink walls don't really do it for me.
Even so, this place is worth checking out. If you like Indian food, you won't be disappointed.

I've had food from many Indian restaurants in the city, and the quality here is right up with any of them. However, I usually get delivery. For dining in, it's not where you go for a first date - the atmosphere is not really trying too hard. It's clean and friendly, just a bit underdecorated and often not very lively. But it's near all that nightlife near the Belmont L, it's BYOB and there's a liquor store next door, and the food is flat-out great. The buffet is very good, but if you order off the menu you'll get the really great stuff (like the Vindaloo.)
