There's never a dull moment at RA Sushi Bar Restaurant. The music is pumping, the mood is upbeat and the atmosphere is as stimulating as a big bite of wasabi. RA is the perfect place to cut loose with friends, toss back a few and enjoy the best sushi that the ocean has to offer. They also have a full menu of Pacific-Rim dishes to satisfy any taste. So no matter how you slice it, it's always more fun in the RA.

This is my favorite place to go after work for a few drinks and appetizers. Most of their menu is half off from 3-7pm. It's a chic atmosphere with great food. They also have great options for people that are new to sushi.

Really great sushi if you're more adventurous or if you're intimidated by the sushi scene. Lots of great options and there is much more than sushi on the menu. Very trendy, fun atmosphere. Definitely get the Las Vegas roll if you go!

Tons of fun AND great sushi
by jay r.
The staff here is wild and the restaurant anything but ordinary. Not at all a "mom and pop shop." The sushi is creative, visually appetizing, and delicious. Full kitchen menu and happy hour as well. I normally go there late night for drinks and late night dining and love it!

Ra is an edgy, chic restaurant/bar with inventive sushi and a club-like atmosphere. While it's not the best sushi I've ever had, it's certainly far better than most in the area and is a fun night-out for the 20 something set.
PROS: fun atmosphere, good food
CONS: Can be loud, no reservations

Just Average

I am a sushi lover, my husband and I will go out for sushi once a week. Wish we could have it even more but it gets expensive after awhile. Anyway, with that said.... I work in the Lombard area and was taking a client out for lunch, she is a sushi lover as well and recommended we go to RA. I had never even heard of this place and was excited to try a new sushi place! First impression was mixed for me. The staff was nice enough but very young! They were playing dance music and I saw some of the waitresses, who apparently had nothing to do, dancing. laughing and pushing each other? Very strange. The look of the restaurant was very nice and contemporary, Moving on to the food. We ordered 4 total rolls. All were just okay. I'm not saying the food was horrible but it just didn't seem as fresh as what I am used too. I would describe this place as a chain sushi house. So the quality of the sushi just wasn't there. This is probably the last place I would choose to go have sushi at in the area. Just not up to par.

I love sushi, and I was so happy when Ra opened!! They have amazing choices that span from great sushi to amazing soup and even other entrees, all delicious!! Yorktown mall is amazing!!
by katiec19
I love the lobster and shrimp choices, sushi is more than just raw fish and Ra shows that in their menu choices. Not to mention they have a fabulous selection of great soups and other entrees (I recommend the soup, they are all delicious). I have been to Chinatown in downtown Chicago, and I still love Ra, sometimes even more than those restaurants. The atmosphere is very contemporary, relaxed and friendly. Amazing service and wonderful food..definitely worth trying! Please do!!!
Pros: Ambience, food, service
Cons: Parking, value (a little expensive for the younger crowd)

The worst sushi ever
by psmedie
I am someone who loves Sushi and was extremely disappointed with RA. For starters the spicy tuna roll looked more like a slurry of fish than a sushi roll (gross). Most of the rolls on the menu didn?t even have raw fish, but instead it was a lot of crab and tempura rolls. I would never eat here again and would recommend to anyone who likes great sushi to not waste their money or gas going there. I have had better sushi at Wholefoods!

BEST Sushi
by lhaphoto
Thank God, there's a sushi restaurant that rocks! We have been waiting for a long time for RA to come to the Western Suburbs. If you want great sushi, drinks, service and a great atmosphere go to RA in the Yorktown Shopping Center. Their unique rolls kept me entertained with an impressive bite every time. I have a soft spot for Sake and their own personal brand is excellent. I would recommend this to anyone who has a craving for sushi and fun.
Pros: Best Sushi in the area

"Really Good Sushi" but not great
by maamama
Ate here last night. Was told that it would be about a 40 mins wait. Only waited about 15 mins. Plus!
If you are sushi snobs like my husband and I are, save your money and time. The place is cute and trendy and the waitresses are young and full of energy (yuck!) but there are SOSOSO many other better sushi places.
