The Chicago Body Works is beyond all my expectations

by Mike W.

Terrific experience - not a rack-em crack-em place. They spend time working out your muscles and ligaments(sp?). I only had to go 3 times and feel fine. My former chiropractor would have had me come back 12 to 15 times! Doctor Holiday gets the job done right!

The Chicago Body Works is phenomenal!!

by Tanya W.

Is there anything better than a good adjustment? I sincerely doubt it. Particularily when it's delivered by an expert who gives a care (Dr Halliday, that is). Feel great in no time!

Best in Town

by michael frid

This business offers massage and chiropractics in tandem and what a concept! I feel better than I have felt in years after just a few short weeks. I'm beginning my training for next years triathalon early, you guys. Thanks much!

Pros: massage and chiropractic together

I would give 6 stars ...

by helinesaline

Before I get into it, I want to say that I have no relation to this practice except that I'm a patient/client there. That being said, I have to "sing the praises" of the Chicago Body Works!
My experience was unlike my previous visits to chiropractors - I entered to a warm welcome, was offered tea and immediately felt "at home". After some brief paperwork, I met with Dr Halladay, a super-nice man with a great energy about him! After some getting to know-ya (yes, he is actually interested in YOU as well as your spine), it was onto an examination. He told me exactly what was happening with my neck and back, how it would be fixed and recommended some massage along with the adjustments! Not expecting this pleasant surprise (who's going to turn down a massage), I was elated. But no more so than during and after the treatment. To make a long story short, I had a good working-over and left the office with a smile on my face, a spring in my step, and most importantly, no pain! I've been back several times since and have nothing but good things to say about these professionals. I whole-heartedly endorse The Chicago Body Works!

Pros: Everything!

Cons: Nothing yet!

Even better than advertised

by randysalazar

I have become pretty picky about chiropractors since I have had some bad experiences in the past. So I choose carefully and follow the reviews (which I'd recommend trying). This place came with very high ratings and now I know why. Dr Halliday is a fine person to have a conversation with (about really anything on your mind, it seems he knows something about) but more importantly, he is just a great doctor. I felt immediate relief of my headache and neck ache after his treatment. And, just as miraculous, he didn't insist on me coming in for 30 visits. Just a short course of treatments and some simple stretches and exercises have completely healed me. I highlyrecommended The Chicago Body Works and Dr Halliday.

Pros: top notch chiropractor

I never do this, but...

by lindaha

I would never think to write a review unless I was blown away by a place of business. This Doctor is amazing! I have suffered for years with a spinal condition that orthopedists and rheumatologists could only prescribe meds for to mask the pain. Not once did anyone target the source of my problem, let alone put their hands on me. Dr. Halliday has a gift that I hope everyone who reads this and needs help gets the opportunity to experience.

Pros: healing touch, doctor who cares, warm environment

Thank you for this Chiropractor!!

by alinacasa

I was quite in pain (neck and back and very stressed) when I came to your office. I couldn't ask for a more caring and competent doctor with a wonderful staff. Your medical skills were exceeded only by the personal concern you showed me during the treatments. Thank you! God bless your hands! I am very grateful to you and thank the lord for you.
Best wishes for 2009!!!

You will love this chiropractor!

by thefirstone

I had back pain on and off for 16 plus years. I tried everything from orthopedists, physical therapy, massage, medications, yoga, Pilates...the list goes on and on. No one did what Dr. Halliday did. In only 2 weeks, I was feeling almost no pain and by 4 weeks, I felt like I did when I was a teenager. The treatment is gentle and he doesn't operate like other chiropractors do - no need to see you 3 times per week for months and months. Truly a class act. Why didn't I find this guy years ago?

by ssinnamin

A beautiful office...warm smiles...caring staff...fantastically skilled chiropractor and therapist(s)...good value...free parking...but most of all, I FINALLY FEEL NO PAIN! I've waited along time for this and I finally found the people and the place. You won't be disappointed.

Pros: top notch in North Chicago

Cons: none as of yet

Doc Halliday has the Touch!

by theyahooking

I've seen a lot of chiropractors but no one can give my crappy back and neck the relief that Doc Halliday can. He is skilled above all others and willing to spend time discussing stretches and other "homework" to keep me in good health. I feel so much better since I founf The Chicago Body Works. Thanks Man!

Pros: great healer and nice office (good music, too) good hours

Highly recommended

by janetceo

Though I live downtown, I'll gladly make the trip to the Chicago Body Works for my tune-ups. Dr Chris has been a godsend for my back and, though my usual therapist is on maternity leave (good luck, Nina!), I've had fabulous massages from both Trisha and Melissa. All involved are extremely nice, professional and thorough. I've happliy referred numerous patients/clients over the years and will continue to do so.

Pros: free parking, ambiance, not a "hard sell" pitch

Cons: could use late Saturday hours

I can't believe I found this woman!

by annemarie88

I've had terrible back pain for years and used to pay cash for massages all the time. I estimate that I paid $4000-5000 out of my own pocket. I discovered a google ad for The Chicago Body Works that said my insurance could pick up the cost if the condition requires it (eg. it's medically necessary). Wish I knew that my insurance covers massage years ago -- I'd be a rich woman! By the way, my therapist, Nina is AWESOME! Check them out!

Pros: insurance pays!!

Cons: wish i knew sooner!!

Took a chance and it paid off!

by dbbhenderson

I had never been to a chiropractor and, coming from a medical background with relatives who are MDs, I didn't have much respect for them. It turns out that my perceptions were ill-informed, at best...at worst, completely ignorant. Dr Halliday is a true DOCTOR who asks all the right questions, makes informed decisions and, most importantly, acts on them in a responsible and effective way. I had a program set out for me which included massage, stretching, adjustments (which, by the way, are very comfortable and not at all frightening), and home exercises which helped me recover so much quicker than I expected. That Dr Halliday and all at The Chicago Body Works spent time making sure I understood all that was happening and what to expect is a testament to his caring nature. For a chiropractor in Chicago, look no further.

Pros: they offered total commitment to my health and well-being

Cons: not in the loop

by downtherabbithole

I love chiropractors...especially Doc Halliday! I am a long-time chiro-nut from Iowa (the birthplace of Chiropractic) and have had alot of Docs work on me...none have given me the relief that Doc Halliday did. Try him for yourself...he's got the gift!

Best chiropractor I've ever seen (and I came all the way from L.A!)

by stereolabfan

While visiting family in August, I threw my back out sleeping on a crummy guest bed (sorry Uncle Ed!) Desperate, I found Dr Halliday on Citysearch and he took me the same day. Everyone in the office was so sympathetic to my plight and they made me feel really welcome and comfortable. I saw the Doctor ON-TIME and he did a thorough exam and figured out my problem. He was so kind and informative, giving me a rundown on what happened, what to expect, and how to take care of my back while in Chicago, on the plane, and when I got home. The treatment and exam lasted about 45 minutes and I never felt rushed through like I do when I see my chiropractor in L.A. I wish I could take Dr Hallidaqy home with me! Thanks!

Pros: everyone here are Professionals with a capital P

Cons: not in Los Angeles (my hometown)

Best Massage and Adjustments Ever!!!

I've been going to the Hallidays for three months and have turned my life around! I used to drag myself around, creaking and groaning, like some ghoul in a horror movie. Now I bounce around like a little kangaroo! I owe it all to Chicago Body Works.......thanks guys!

Very Pleasant Experience

by cynbaddie

To all users of the chiropractic arts:
There are some fool doctors out there so when you run across a good one, you gotta talk about it! Dr Halliday is one of the good ones ---- caring and attentive, great touch, and good advice which he calls "active care" or "my homework". They don't push you through like herds of cattle and seem to genuinely have your optimal health as their priority. High marks..

Pros: parking beside building, really nice atmosphere, spring water and tea!

Cons: 5 minutes off the Southport Brown Line (I'm lazy and hate walking)

Great people, great service

by webblist

The Halliday's have consistently delivered top quality chiropractic and massage care since I discovered them years ago. Their "combo" approach of massage and chiropractic care in the same visit gets results I've not found elsewhere. Not to mention the spa/office feel of The Chicago Body Works which is both professional and beautiful at once. Good luck to you both and thank you for the years of pain-free living!

Great Place of Healing

by slantje

The reviews were true...Doctor Haliday is really good and made me feel so comfortable. Past chiropractors Ive been to are wisking you in and out so fast, you dont even realise you were there. At the Chicago Body Works they make you feel like your important and they are actually happy to see you (and to heal you). I asked about the massage but the Doctor Haliday wisely told me that I need to get to a point where I was no longer in acute pain first. I like that he has my real best interests at heart...I had never felt that at past chiropractor offices.

Pros: they really care about you, free parking, nice envirnment

Excellent Service & Setting

by brandynwine

The Chicago Body Works delivers what it promises in the reviews. The massage I received was very good by any standard and the chiropractor (Dr. Holiday?) has a firm, yet gentle touch and great knowledge. I had been seen by a physical therapist about my hip issue last winter and he couldn't hold a candle to what this chiropractor knows about the body. I have a whole new appreciation for the field. As a bonus, the clinic is very airy and beautiful. It feels like a spa, as advertised. I recommend Chicago Body Works highly.

Pros: ambience, service, parking next to building

Cons: none as of yet

really good massage spa

by polarbearpaul

i had a great massage here last week and wanted to spread the word to everyone who has had past sketchy experiences with massage. you know, the kind where you feel right back to where you were before you went for the massage in the first place. you'll get a great one here with lasting results. i haven't felt this calm and painfree in a long time. im scheduled for the next 6 weeks and may make a standing appointment. try Nena, shes the best.

Pros: free parking, good music, not rushed, aromatherapy, take insurance!

by windycitychic

I never do this kind of thing, but I wanted to write a review to sing the praises of Nina...massage therapist extraordinaire! I haven't felt so good since in ten years at least. She hasa great touch and though I sometimes feel a little sore the next day...I always feel terrific the day after and for a long time too! Top o' the line care and really nice new office. Check it out for what ails ya!

What a Relief

by steveeowe

That was worth it. My old chiropractor was a goof. Doc Halliday is sharp and I felt fantastic throughout the whole treatment. More importantly, I felt HEALED WHEN I LEFT. Highly recommended.

Pros: nice healing environment, not pushy, free parking

Cons: won't commit to becoming my "personal chiropractor" (kidding)

warm and wonderfull

by elsiesat

you know how sometimes you feel ruched in a doctors office? Like they have more important things to do than take care of you? Not here - dr. Halliday is a super listener and his hands should be encased in gold! His staff takes time to play with my 5year old while I'm getting treated, and make him feel so comfortable, he always wants to come with me when I go! Highly recomended!

Pros: kind, consistently feel fantastic

Cons: not really any

Massage from Heaven

by heavenlylinda

Too often I've gone for a massage and received "the rub" (a lame attempt at pacification). I always felt like someone had "touched" me, but 12 hours later (sometimes sooner) I'd feel the same as I had before I had the rub.
I discovered Nina post-referral from a trusted friend and I've said bye-bye to the rub...and hello to the "therapeutic touch"! These are results that LAST, usually for at least a week. For me, this is tremendous. I also always appreciate the time she takes to talk to me, find out what I've been doing and the extent of my emotional state of being. I surmise that she's determining what type of treatment she wants to administer on that day. Truly a consumate professional move. So much more than traditional massage therapists - I can't recommend her and The Chicago Body Works enough.

Doctor Halliday is Awesome

by emilsing

I've lived on both coasts and Chicago (the 3rd coast), been to chiropractors all over. This guy is the best. I hear good things about the massage too - next on my list. I love the new digs too.

First to Review a Fantastic Chiropractor!

by boonstraaron

I had no idea what to expect when I hobbled into this office with severe pain in my hip and back. Dr Halliday talked me through it all with a smile and alot of guidance. The physical therapy and "stim" were a great warm up for the "adjustment" which sealed the deal. I felt immediate relief and bounced out the door!
Had I known about chiropractors earlier, I would have seen one long ago. Thanks, Doc.

Pros: free parking, beautiful spa-like office

Cons: none
