This place is great for cheap fast and healthy food. I live in the neighborhood. I used to come to this place for cheap and fast food. However, new people bought the place. They are very polite and kind young couple. They added really tasty and also healthy fast food. Now they have babaghanush and more Middle Eastern dishes prepared there freshly. They have very reasonable prices; you get more than what you pay. You got to try this place and ask for their new special dishes.

Pros: Cheap, fast, tasty, healthy, friendly, location. Variety of vegetarian dishes.

Honestly, this might be the worst restaurant in Lakeview. You get the feeling when you walk in that the place is going out of business. It just looks dirty, feels dirty, feels like it is poorly run. The young lady that attended me was polite and friendly, and by far, the only bright spot in the restaurant.
She was behind the "backroom", and the cook had to call him up to the counter to help. I ordered a basic sandwich and fries, and got..exactly that,,a previously frozen hamburger on a not so fresh roll, with not so fresh ingredients, and some cheap frozen fries. Maybe my expectations were too high, but the name FAST AND FRESH kind of led me to believe that I might be buying something better than the burger and fries at the bowling alley or kid's cafeteria.
When I paid, I paid cash, and noticed that the young lady, maybe the owner/manager, didn't ring up the sale, but gave me my change. Makes me think that they aren't the most honest people and are probably skimming money on their cash sales.
So, when the meal came out...somewhat fast, since I was the only person eating there on this very busy street, it was just left on the counter like at the Starbucks down the street, but I didn't know it since not one "yelled it out." Who knows how fast if may have been or not.
I asked the young lady if they delivered, and she said not any more.
I added some off brand tasting ketchup from a not so clean dispenser on the table, ate my sandwich, and spent about 10 minutes eating and reading the Red Eye. Not a single person walked in after me.
I guess by the end of my meal, I figured out why. Like I said, the lady working the counter was nice, but not "that nice" that I will ever go back to this place. With so many other options on Broadway, Halsted, and Clark to eat, I will spend my money somewhere else.
Not sure if this place will be able to stay open the way they are operating. The "handwriiten" cook for hire sign isn't much appealing too.Good luck....

Pros: Convenient location

Cons: Food, Needs total overhaul, Dirty looking/feel

.

The food is OK, but the owner is a turn-off. Considering the business is in Boystown, it was very disturbing to hear anti-gay comments from the owner.
