Hi, my name is Ashley and I am 41 years old. I have worn glasses or contact lenses since I was 6 years old. Due to my extreme prescription and dependency on corrective lenses I was very apprehensive to even find out if I would be a candidate. This year I decided to bite the bullet and find out if I was a candidate for the LASIK procedure. A long time friend recommended Raleigh Eye Center and Dr. Kiley. Little did I know that would be the best decision I have ever made. Dr. Kiley and the staff at Raleigh Eye Center are wonderful, especially Amanda Carey. She is awesome. Amanda explained the procedure to me step by step from start to finish in a way that I understood exactly what was going to happen. Amanda let me know exactly what to expect and when to expect it before and after the procedure. Amanda also answered every question and concern that I had with the procedure as well as afterwards. After having the LASIK procedure I was could not believe at what I could see! The following morning after my procedure I was absolutely amazed, I could not believe my eyes! It was wonderful! I would like to personally thank Dr. Kiley, Amanda and the whole staff at Raleigh Eye Center for all their help! I will and have already recommended Raleigh Eye Center to everyone I know to see if they can help them SEE a whole new way of life! I wish I would have went there sooner!

I wore contacts and glasses for 7 years and quickly grew tired of my contacts lens scratching my eyes or drying out my eyes or getting headaches from wearing eye glasses so I took action and decided to get LASIK at the Raleigh Eye Center.

I am 21 years old and have been going to The Raleigh Eye Center since the age of 4. I just recently had Lasik done by Dr. Kiley, what an amazing and comforting experience it was! With the positive attitude and personal interactions with Dr. Kiley, Kelly and their assistants I was never unsure or worried about any of it. They are extremely professional and provide great customer service. I highly recommend to anyone if you are going to ""look into"" Lasik, The Raleigh Eye Center is the place to go! I have 20/20 vision now, after being nearly blind for 21 years it is a dream come true to see the world glasses free!!!

Dr. Kiley, Kelley and the rest of the LASIK team are dedicated to providing the best care to their patients. Having both worked for and been a patient of several of the local providers, I can attest that you will receive top notch care while at Raleigh Eye Center. They want to develop a relationship with their patients that does not end after the surgery, which is unique for most LASIK providers. I have been going to them for years and could not be happier. Give them a call. You will not be disappointed.

I've been going to the Raleigh Eye Center for several years now, and have absolutely no complaints. I've seen a couple of their doctors for my regular exams for CL and glasses prescriptions, and 3 years ago I had Lasik done by Dr. Kiley. The whole experience was awesome and if I had to make the choice again, I wouldn't change a thing! My vision is still 20/20!

I choose Raleigh Eye Center in July to do my Lasik surgery. I made the choice because of recommendations from family who had very positive experience and the pricing of the surgery. I was immediately impressed by Kelly who made my appointment and did a majority of the initial consultation. She was very personalbe and knowledgeable. Dr. Kiley and his assistants are very professional. My surgery was very quick and I was amazed at how well I could see just a few minutes after my surgery. The follow up appointments were fairly quick and easy and I have 20/15 vision. Overall it was a wonderful experience.

You have been forwarned!! Unless you want to be upset all day, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! \r\n\r\nI was told to show up 10 mins before appointment. So I showed up at 9:40am for a 9:50. AT 10:41am they called me up to check my insurance. Then at 11:00AM THEY SENT ME TO A DIFFERENT WAITING ROOM. Then at 11:20 they put me in an exam chair. Then at 11:40AM 2 HOURS LATER, the doctor saw me. He looked at my blood shot, PAINFUL eye for 15 seconds and wrote me a prescription for a steroid drop. I asked him to look inside the eye, as I have a history of interior eye lesions. 'Oh, I'm backed up and I havent taken lunch yet.' I SAT FOR 2 HOURS for 15 seconds of #*&$($. They told me I had to 'come back for that' and pay another $80 co-pay. And if I wanted a eyeglass perscription update, I needed to make a SEPARATE appointment for that too! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! IF YOU GO, DONT SAY YOU WEREN'T WARNED. Horrible experience. HORRIBLE. \r\n\r\nI would like to have all the Doctors that work there sit in a room for two hours without pay, and be forced to pay me $200 each to have me look at them for 15 seconds. What a colossal waste of my TIME!!

Scheduled an appointment for a torn cornea.. extremely painful. Told to arrive 10 mins early for paperwork.. not sure why because they didn't call me for paperwork until 20 mins after my appointment time. Also noticed woman get into an arguement with a patient about how long they had been waiting.\r\n\r\nFinally taken back after 45 minutes of waiting only to another waiting room! I then had to wait even longer in the doctors room.. I would say I total of 1.5 hours of waiting before I actually saw the doctor. He only spoke with my for a couple minutes, and brushed off the severity of my injury, which the Emergency Room at the hospital told me it was a severe corneal abrasion. He said I should be feeling back to normal the next day.\r\n\r\nAfter two days of still being in pain I called the doctors office, only to not have anyone return my calls for over 24 hours. When I was finally able to speak with a nurse she told me I was ""not in pain"" and that I ""didn't know what pain was if I hadn't had children."" Rude and unprofessional!\r\n\r\nOverall a horrible experience and the staff was extremely rude. I wish I could give zero stars. Take your business somewhere else!

I had LASIK surgery done in February 2010 and I couldnt be happier. Everyone at The Raleigh Eye Center in Raleigh, NC is great! Kelley was wonderful to work with during the consultation and Dr. Kiley definitely knows how to work the laser! They practice great customer service in their office and have a high percentage of terrific results. I would recommend this procedure to ANYONE that has poor vision and would definitely recommend The Raleigh Eye Center. I had pretty bad vision with blue eyes and large pupils and came out 20/15. Thank you to everyone at The Raleigh Eye Center!

I was very worried about going to this place for Lasik surgery. No one else had written reviews for Lasik only normal eye care service. (If you are going to a surgeon for glasses you can expect to wait because they are divided in their tasks and they are getting more money from surgeries). I digress... \r\nMy wife made the appointment after I was scheduled somewhere else because there was a special if I booked by end of January. Dr. Kiley can do these specials because he owns the laser unlike many doctors who lease their equipment. I told my wife that you get what you pay for and cheaper on eye surgery isnt always the best route (has anyone ever seen King of Queens when Doug uses coupon for Carries Lasik??) Well FOR ONCE cheaper was better. \r\nFirst, Kelly makes your appointments (initial exam, procedure, 1 day follow-up, etc). Then I received a nice packet in the mail from Kelly so that I could have paperwork done before arrival and not add to wait. Kelly stated that the initial exam could take 2-2 hours. I walked in and out in exactly 2 hours. I did not wait long at any point in the process. Kelly was EXTREMELY informative and helpful with all questions and concerns. Dr. Kiley was very professional and everyone double and triple checked all the measurements etc (I think I did the eye chart thing tree or four times in addition to the many other procedures to ensure I was a good candidate). \r\nDay of surgeryI was very nervous!!! Kelly and Dr. Kiley talked to me the whole time and always let me know what was about to take place. I was in and out of the office in an hour (pre-op, surgery, post-opeverything!!!) The first couple of hours suckedno pain but very light sensitive. Plus I was chauffeured all over Raleigh with these dumb looking lens over my face to keep me from scratching (it was pretty funny actually)\r\nThe next day I came for follow-up 20/20 !!!!!!!!!!!!! I think I was a -5.5 or something in my vision so I was impressed it was that quick.and painless. \r\nI came back for my 1 week follow-up and because I live 4 hours away, I arrived approximately 35 min early to the appointment. I brought a book expecting to wait. I literally read half a page and they called me back. I was in and out of the office in less than half an hour and they stocked me up on a bunch of artificial tears (which in store cost $10 per box) for FREE! If you are considering Lasik you need to come see Dr. Kiley!!! Their prices have gone back to normal but keep a watch because I only paid $995 per eye for Lasik with the wave technology. Using my flex spending account I only paid a few hundred out of pocket. Good luck and I hope you will choose this officenot for routine eye carejust get the surgery!!!\r\n

I have been a patient of Dr. Kiley, and The Raleigh Eye Center for 17 years. He did my LASIK surgery 11 years ago. I had been wearing glasses since the 3rd grade and my prescription was very high (-11.5). LASIK surgery changed my life. For the past 11 years I have not had to wear glasses or contact lenses. I could not be happier with my results. My entire family are patients of The Raleigh Eye Center. My daughter, my parents and even my grandparents. This practice truly cares abouth the entire family. This is a busy place with lots of patients and the parking is not the best. But inside this building are the MOST caring eye doctors and staff I have found.

This is a busy place with lots of patients and the parking is not the best. But inside this building are the MOST caring eye doctors and staff I have found.

Pros: Experienced doctor and friendly staff

Cons: crowded location

.

I have been going to the Raleigh Eye Center for many years for routine eye exams. I have seen a couple or three doctors there. I have always been happy with the doctors. I am unsure why but my wife made an appointment for each of us, on different days, for a routine eye exam with Dr Kiley. After our exams we both came away with the same conclusion in that we will never be seen by that doctor again. He graced himself with his presence during the exam for 2 minutes the rest was handled by technicians. I paid hundreds of dollars for his 2 minutes. If I wanted to be seen mostly by technicians I would have stated that at the beginning and would have been happy. \r\n \r\nWhat really upset me was the wait time which was over an hour. He was joking with the employees in the hallway for several minutes prior to me being called. Had I known that was him I would have said something to him directly. Regardless how he feels, my time is as important as the good doctor's. \r\n\r\nClearly, if he treated me like this in a routine exam, I wonder if he would rush something critical due to the amount of time the procedure would take. Maybe the technicians would operate on my eyes too.

Pros: The technicians were prompt.

Cons: I left with the impression that I needed another examine by another doctor with more time.

I have been going to the Raleigh Eye Center ever since 1995, visiting Dr. James W. Kiley almost everytime, but I will NEVER return. My intent during my most recent vist to Dr. Kiley was to have an eye exam and receive a perscription for both glasses and contacts. I had to wait a while, which was fine. However, when Dr. Kylie finally saw me, he made a slapdash, hurried examination and was ready to see the next patient. When I told him I wanted to be fitted for contacts, his response was, ""Oh, take the glasses perscription to wherever you get it filled. They'll be able to take care of it from there."" Before I could protest, he was out of the room. I am furious. I paid money for Kylie's care, and he gave me less than adequate care. Now I have to pay more money to go to someone else to get contacts. I understand doctors' offices are busy and unforseen things happen while looking at patients, but Dr. Kylie should not take more patients than he can handle. After all, how long should a contact lens fitting take? I had the courtesy to wait for him to show up. The least he could have done was spent five minutes fitting me for lenses. Do not go to this doctor. Do not go to the Raleigh Eye Center. \r\n

Pros: if you want to spend money to get inadequate service

Cons: doctors overscheduling patients and not spending enough time on an exam, not being fitted for contact lenses,, waiting

Cannot speak to the Lasik aspect of them, but to just get glasses, via eye exam, oh, mercy go somewhere else.\r\n\r\nHad to wait 3 hours to be seen by the doctor, then to wait and get an order to have lenses put in my frames (this was not to have them made, just to give my frames to someone with the prescription).\r\n\r\nThe whole atmosphere is very drab, and the folks working there are about the same. I felt like a cattle being prodded through chutes to the next place, there was ZERO good energy there.\r\n\r\nThe technicians are the ones who took the measurements for my eyes. Is it any wonder then that the prescription was not right and I had to go back and get them re-checked? Guess what, the same technician did the measurement again! (Long story short, my one eye that needed adjustment went back to the old prescription, but couldn't the good Dr. have double checked, especially on a re-check?!) Dr. Kiley just signed off on it, didn't even check to make SURE... guess if you aren't getting Lasik surgery you aren't worthy of his time. \r\n\r\nOh yah, end result? My glasses still are not right, but I REFUSE to go back there. I can, however, advise you to go elsewhere, you will be VERY glad you did, I can't imagine getting Lasik surgery at this place, scary.

Pros: If you do NOT go there

Cons: Poor quality, poor care, feel like factory herded cattle
