We ate there this weekend and you can't beat the price for a seafood buffet. Only $13.95 for all you can eat. The seafood is fresh and is mostly fish, shrimp (calabash, boiled, etc), deviled crab and oysters. This is a fish camp, so

I have been going to Riverview Inn since I was a kid, and I actually can't believe all the snobby reviews people put up here. If you know anything about southern food or atmosphere then this place is perfect. I'm no redneck but I can still appreciate the relaxed, at-home, atmosphere. This place was never meant to be "fine dining," just a casual family place. The staff even greets you like family, and not like strangers (and I'm not known as a regular either). The paper plates and silverware are not at all an inconvenience, nor are they to save money, Rivewview has been using those since it opened. The restaurant, fixtures, and booths may be the originals from when the restaurant was built 63 years ago, but that's part of the wonder and the pirate ship atmosphere. And old is not the same a dirty, I have never been sat at a dirty table or disappointed by the appearance of the buffet. As far as the food goes, to be fair I have only had the buffet, but that means I have tried a little of everything, and like I said if you know true southern cooking then you will love the food as much as I do. I took my boyfriend from New York there with my family and he loved it, the food, atmosphere, and charm. My mom started taking me to this place with the family since I was an infant, and now that I'm 21 I can say that I have never had anything other than hot delicious fish and cobler since- and my family makes the drive out to the restaurant a few times a year and EVERY time we go to McAddenville, it's a tradition. And that's pretty much what this place is about, traditional southern food and comfort. So if you have kids, appreciate antiques, have an open mind, or love southern food, then I'd give this place a try.

My family has been coming to this restaurant since before I was born. I grew up eating here. I'm slightly offended for the restaurant by some of these reviews here.

After more than 60 years in business, the Riverview Inn seems well past its prime and on life support. The food isn't bad but everything else is very wrong and very outdated. The worst thing about this old restaurant is that meals are

Use to be great. last 2 times a couple of months ago and last night the buffet food was cold and hard. The walls around the booths and floors was so dirty I was shocked. There wasn't many people there and it looked like old grime. Not just my booth I noticed on the way out all walls and floors was dirty. Still had a 97% rate thought. Where am I going to find great fish now?

Pros: Been going there ofer 45 years

Cons: I hope it gets fixed fast

The all-you-can-eat buffet is hard to beat. Lots of old fashioned fish camp favorites. If you're looking for broiled or baked fish, the choices are limited. Does have a major draw back. The buffet line is located in the main dining room, which is ALL SMOKING. It can be very annoying. The non-smoking area is in a room off to the side. Service isn't always up to par in this area and winters can be uncomfortable as they often neglect to turn the heat up "back there".
