Village Christian Academy is the worst abuse of trust and ethics we have ever experienced! As concerned and highly educated parents, we believed for 5 years that our child was getting a quality education. However, this was NOT the case. After looking into some issues our child brought to our attention, we realized many failures on our part as parents by first believing the rhetoric this school puts out without investigating for ourselves. However, after our investigation, this is what we found: First, teachers are teaching subjects without even being degreed in the areas/subjects they are teaching. Examples of what we found are: Kindergarten teacher with a degree in Dance, High School Science teacher degreed in Early Child Education. How is this possible? Easy...they just need to aply and be members of Village Baptist Church! In addition, the ACS (Accreditation for Christian Schools) does not require teachers to be experts in their subject areas...only to have a certain number of Bible courses/credits. The school also claims to be accredited by SACS (Southern Association of Colleges and Schools) who are the same accreditation body public schools and colleges must have to stay in operation. While they are using the initial accreditation certification, VCA recently sought an extension because they are not in current compliance. Evidence shows VCA can retain this accreditation with the standards the school is maintaining. Next, the current high school curriculum being used at VCA is BELOW the standards of public school! Imagine our shock when we took the time to make comparisons between our child's course of study standards and textbooks to those used in public school....unbelievable! Finally, the discipline and ethics of fair treatment between students is directly aligned to church membership and status. It was overwhelmingly obvious throughout our child's tenure at this school. Non-church member students are held to a different standard with regard to discipline. To this end, non-church member students were regularly disciplined and even expelled while church member students who often violated the same policies were treated with more leniencies if even addressed by administration at all. With all this said, BEAWARE! You child is not getting a quality education nor are they in an unbiased Christian atmosphere if they are enrolled at VCA! The end conclusion we realized as parents is to check into a school carefully. Just because a school has a Christian name and is housed in a nice facility, does not make it a good school. It is our responsibility as parents to ensure our child is in the best school possible being taught the best curriculum by the best teachers!

After two years of the dictator, Joan Dayton, I paid the $500.00 CASH penalty (wonder where THAT money went to?) and put my child back in public school. Over-priced, inferior education. You got to ask yourself, "If these teachers were so qualified and superior, why are they accepting a 22,000 dollar a year wage with no benefits?" Come on...be honest...it is because they are either scared of accountable employment or they are the dregs that no school would hire. Your child is better off in the public education sector. Better availability of resources and if your are an involved parent, they will receive a superior education experience. If nothing else, they will not be trained to be "narrow minded bigots" who believe it is "their way or the highway" when it comes to life through distorted interpretations of the Bible.

Glad to see the Queen of Pious Pomp, Joan Dayton, dismissed. Now if we could see the whole big money church scheme exposed for the fraud they are. I am tired of seeing neighborhoods swallowed up, homes demolished, roads clogged, and resources skewed for "churches" that are destroying the communities that they are supposed to serve. I'd also bet the Pastors at Village (and Manna, Berean, Snyder) make far in excess of the average "Joe Schmuck" that attends. Sad. Truly sad for Fayetteville that we allow blights like this to get tax exempt status and upper-class privilege.

My children have gone to school here since Preschool and have done exceptionally well! I believe in the goals that this school has, both academically and spiritually. Although things have always been excellent, I am looking forward to our new administration and the things that God will do through VCA.

My two children have been at Village Christian Academy since its doors opened 10 years ago and I couldn't be more pleased with their academic accomplishments. Village has dedicated teachers who care for the students, and the facilities are the best in the area. The athletic program at VCA always competes for conference honors.

I came to discover that recently, my son was verbally insulted by fellow administrator, Joan Dayton. She purposely called my son a negr0 and was discriminated for being African-American and for being into rap and hip-hop. She called me an ignorant ass-negr0 for standing up for my beliefs against her getting personal with my son and pretty much every other cock-toothed person in that school. So far through previous experiences, I have learned that other websites choose what reviews were to be shown and I think that is bullcrap because its deleting mine which is a violation of freedom of speech, especially when the reviews are true.
