This place used to be one of my favorite Viet places. Now the fish sauce is like water, no taste. The service is horrible. The food is super Americanized. Not worth it. Go somewhere else. Don't waste your money here.

Great restaurant. We love going here for authentic vietnamese food. The staff is very helpful in helping you decide what to order.

My entire family loves Pho Real. My favorite dish is the Ca Ri, a French Vietnamese curry soup. Their take on this dish is the best one I've had. My husband enjoys the Pho; my girls love the fried rice. Despite its modern atmosphere (doesn't LOOK very kid friendly), everyone here has been a doll to my very rowdy young girls. You must also try the coffee; it's wonderful!

The food was very tasty. Although not very authentic, it was still very good. The restaurant is set in a high-traffic university area and that may explain the "modern" take on some of the dishes. It's affordable and yummy...so you can't go wrong with anything you order.

The food at Pho Real is okay. It's not the greatest and you don't get as much as you pay for (compared to other Vietnamese restaurants). The service isn't so great (maybe it's because young people run it). But it does look nice and clean inside.

Pros: nice and clean inside

Cons: poor service, more expensive compared to other Vietnamese restaurants

My job requires me to travel to different cities for considerable lengths of time so when I arrive in a new city I look for a good Pho spot. Most of the time it takes 2 - 3 visits to different Pho restaurants to find a good one. This is the first city that I only needed to visit once, Pho Real. Don't be turned off by the quirky name, because this place knows Pho. Most would think that Pho is quite simple in construction, but I'm here to tell you that even missing the slightest ingredient can make or break the soup. In my experience in Pho, and I eat a lot, this is definitely on par with the best of the best. The price is a tad higher than what you would expect for Pho, but trust me you will be satisfied (6.50 for a medium vs. 5.25 for a large in some places). I would also recommend this place for first time diners, because I feel it is important to have a good sampling as first impressions are key. Also it may be hard to find at first as you can not directly access it from WT Harris. Go down Tryon from WT and go behind the Ihop and center parking garage to get to the center where Pho Real and Moe's grill are located. Take a friend you won't be disappointed.
