When I walked in I remember I was crying pretty hard because they're were protesters and the nurses quickly took me to the back and started to talk to me about how I do have a choice and to weigh my options. I just remember feeling extremely welcome (who ever thought you could feel welcome in such a drab place). The nurses were so great and they make sure you know what you're doing each step of the way. The office's were extremely clean and I felt so safe. I loved the doctor because he didn't lie to me and tell me I ""wouldn't feel a thing"". They are pretty cheap and the initial price covers your check up as well. When I called to make my appointment they're wasn't really a waiting list, I think i called on a Monday and they had me in that Thursday. They were playing popular movies while I was in the waiting room and while i was in the back. And after the procedure they gave me a drink and some food to eat. If circumstances call for it I would go back here. I'd highly recommend this doctor's office to someone.

I choose this office to bring my little sister, originally i was very disappointed in her for being so irresponsible and pissed that she was having sex at all and that she got pregnant. This was an awakening for me. I feel responsible for not helping my little sister get on birth control before now. I didnt want her to make the same mistakes I made becoming a young mom. I have always been one to see abortion as the easy way out, and before now been very judgemental of women that have chosen abortion. I DO NOT feel that way anymore. This was far from an easy decision. I feel like the easy decision was just getting on welfare, and dealing with the consequences. But my child went through hell with me because I chose that for him. This decision shouldn

I was referred here by my OB/GYN when I found out I was pregnant. When I arrived the first thing I noticed was that I immeadiatly felt welcomed, the nurses were so nice and understanding. I didnt want to have an abortion, who really does but I was the best decision I could make for MY life. The staff really helped me feel ok with this very hard choice I had to make. I know I did the right thing and I have a very different view of ""abortion"" thank you for respecting me and taking care of me. And the doctor was very down to earth, I like how he talked to me like a real person, he was great.

I would not reccomend that anyone go here. I read their website and thought I would be comforted through this tough decison that my husband and I would be allowed to make decisions together like what our options are. I was told NOTHING! I was called back you then feel out a short paper and then called to a room and they look over your paper work and take blood. I had to spell zoloft for the so called nurse. you are then told to go to the bathroom remove your pants leave underwear on and put you belongings in a bag you are then left to find the next room you go to which is a room with about 20 other women waiting to go in to have an ultrasound which you are never told what you are waitng on. you are then told to lay on table pull underwaer down below the hair line you lay there she tells you weeks youthen get up and go back to room where you wait and are then called to take pills you are not told what type of pills expect one is motrion and anpother is to dialte your cervix you are then told to go to restroom bc some people bleed after taking pills. you then wait until your name is called dr calls you takes you to room you lay down and procedure is done you are then told to stand right after procedure. YOu are not allowed to have any time you are told to hold a pad with thighs youare then walked to a rooom with other women and I sat there prob 3 min and was told I could go. My medication was not explained nothing! THere is no cousling like said on website there is nojust you nurse you do not know what is happeming next. I so wish I would of done my research on this place I beg you to please please do not go here this was my first and last abortion but there has to be more professional places.

i sadly went here for a surgical abortion..i thought i made the right choice, given the information on their website.it was a horrible experience.the staff was very rude and unsympathetic.all they worried bout was their money.they rushed you out of recovery, there is no anesthesia unless you pay extra, which they dont inform you about until you get there.you are wide awake and hear and feel everything.no one talks or cousels you..i called the next day for a work excuse from work, and the lady at the call center was very rude and acted like i was a burden.they give you a packet of prescriptions before you go,no one explains what they are or what they do.i do not recommend this clinic to anyone.this was a very emotional e doctor was a tough decision, and this clinic and stff made the experience horrible.i called two days after my procedure, because i had a fever and have been extrememly neasous since the proceedure, the lady did not even care.the doctor was very rough and didnt care at all.also, his name on the papers, and in his office are slightly different on the prescriptions as if hes hiding something.totally rediculous.

Dr. Virmani (the main physician here) cannot even practice at Presbyterian Hospital (info retrieved on internet and at The Mecklenburg County Courthouse). He was found by a peer review task force at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte to be negligent (injuries incurred) during multiple gynecological surgeries .\r\n\r\nCheck out the botched abortion videos on YouTube before going here. Search for ""a preferred women's health Botched Abortions"", as they won't let me post links here. Scary stuff. Be an informed woman!\r\n\r\nAlso check out the NCMB (NC Medical Board . org) site for actions against Dr. Virmani on sexual misconduct. Dr. Jimmie Newton is also a doctor at this clinic who has been accused and found to be guilty of exposing himself to patients and touching them inappropriately during procedures. He even received mandatory psychological counseling for sex addicts, as a result. \r\n\r\nDo your research before placing your body in their hands! This place is scum.

Finding out my 16 y/o daughter was pregnant was very hard but she knew right away she wasn't ready to be a mother. When we arrived at the clinic we did not know what to expect we were greeted by a receptionist who had a frendily smile and a few kind words. The nurses came and spoke with me and my daughter and quickly set us both at ease although I was not able to stay with her the whole time. The nurses kept me informed the whole time we were there. My daughter actually told ME I needed to relax, I knew then she was going to be fine. I just really want to say thank you to the lady who held my daughters hand hugged her and told her everythings going to be ok. Because it was! Thank you from ""the pretty little girl with cowboy boots and the nervous crying mother""

Thease women who work here are wonderful. Finding out my 16 y/o daughter was pregnet was very difficult, she knew right away she was not ready to become a mother. When we got to the clinic we were both very scared and did not know what to expect, the nurses their quickly set us both at ease. This was a very hard decision but we both want to say thank you to the girl who held my daughters hand and hugged her and told her everything will be ok, you made this a positive experience for her and we are actually closer since that day in your clinic. And she is taking the birth control pills you gave her everyday.\r\nI would reccomend this clinic to anyone in need of this service.

This is definitely not the kind of place that anyone plans on visiting. That being said, I had no idea what to expect, but after I made my decision to have the procedure, I did not want to spend anymore time beating myself up over my decision. I called the office on a Monday night, and was able to go in the following day during my lunch break to do the abortion by pill. \n Like every other doctor's appointment i've been to in my 25 years of living, I had to wait a few minutes after checking in to be taken back, and had to do some blood work and paperwork. A very nice girl about my age came in and talked with me about how everything works with the procedure and she made me feel very comfortable, and sat and talked with me for a while about my situation and my concerns. After my counseling was completed, the doctor came in and talked with me and made sure I had no questions, before the nurse discharged me with my medicines and information for my next appointment. I felt fine after leaving the office and was able to go back to work. While I know that no one ever plans to be in this situation, it is good to know there are clean, safe clinics like this one to help women.

I also did the medical abortion at this clinic, and had quite a pleasant experience. After extensive counseling, I was informed that it is not always an immediate procedure, and you must give the medication time to properly work. I went in with a long list of questions that a nurse sat down in a private room to happily answer for me. I was able to get in and out of the office on my lunch break at both of my appointments.

I had my abortion in May of 2008. When I first arrived there was a protester out on the sidewalk yelling and holding up a sign. When I got to the desk I broke down crying. The lady told me it was okay and to take a few minutes in the bathroom if I needed to.\r\n\r\nI answered some questions which I didnt find offensive at all seeing as how all the other girls were in the same position. \r\n\r\nIt was pretty packed but the good part about that is, you have girls and women you can relate to. You talk to calm each other down, cry together, and learn of other people. The ages ranged from 16-55yrs old. Boyfriends, husbands, friends, and family accompanied us. \r\n\r\nMy nurse was very caring...she held my hand and said ""its okay"" The doctor explained to me every procedure b4 he did it. Yes it was painful but I didnt expect it to feel good.\r\n\r\n Lasted less that 5mins(which is sickening btw) After I realized what happened and started to cry the nurse rubbed my back and told me she understood. That meant a lot. Went to the recovery room where they gave us gold fish(my comfort food now) and animal crackers and some juice. 15mins seems rushed on the first time, but its all you need after ""light"" sedation. \r\n\r\nWhen I went back for my check up..everything was fine and I thanked the Doctor and the nurse. I caught the bus to my check up and walked down a long street and the lady at the front desk talked to me until i got to the front door. I am forever grateful and scarred.\r\n\r\nI'm sure the staff has their days...like i do at work. I'm sure they would apologize if they knew you all felt that they were rude.

I went to the clinic in June 2006. I felt the clinic was a cattle call. There were probably 20-25 girls having abortions that day and I'm sure the clinic sees that many girls everyday - however, this was the first time I'd ever gone to an abortion clinic and I was terrified. No one told me what was happening and the doctor made some very inappropriate comments. I work in media - and he said ""We should call and have this broadcast, or better yet - put it on candid camera"". I thought that was a terrible thing to say. Instead of getting any comfort or ease - I felt like he was rushed to get the next girl in the door and didn't explain what he was doing or anything. afterwards I felt very light headed and sick. He wouldn't even let me lie on the table for 5 minutes. I was walked to another room to sit in a chair where I was given some pain killers and when I threw up - I was given saltines and lemonade. After I'd sat there about 20 minutes, they basically told me it was time for me to go (other girls needed the chair I was sitting in). \n \nI was also given a lot of trouble with the women at the front desk. They were all very short, loud, and unkind. When I first got there, instead of whispering or pulling me back to ask me about my pregnancy, they just spoke in a regular tone (in a dr. office it's very quiet, so everyone else in there could hear) and they asked very personal questions that I didn't feel comfortable answering. \n\nI would never again go to this place - there are other clinics in Charlotte - do your research and chose wisely. This experience is already very unpleasant without the added stress of rude staff and an unprofessional dr.\n\nPlus - there are ALWAYS protestors outside, which is also extremely uncomfortable.\n

this was a hard decision that was made worse when i got there. there were people screaming at me when i walked in and the building was old and the place was crowded. all they care about is getting the patients in and then you are like cattle stuffed in a waiting room. they told me on the phone i would be in and out within 2 hours but i was there for 4 hours. staff was rude, rooms were freezing. told dr i was scared and all he said was that it would be over soon and to shut up. i really hope god forgives me for this. if you are pregnant, this is not the option. they acted like ansering my questions was a problem and that they did not want to be bothered. on the day i was there, staff was fighting with each other in the back. stay away from this pit of hell

This was my first experience and hopefully last. I had horror stories in my mind and fear of the unknown. I read the one review on here and figured someone at the office wrote it. It couldn't be that nice. I was suprised...by a number of things. There is no privacy!!!!! As soon as you walk in there are 20-30 people waiting to be seen. Once you get past the front waiting area, you complete a couple of forms and then wait to get your vitals taken. Next, you are given a robe and told to go wait in a dimly lit area with movies playing. I liked the room and it was relaxing although everyone in there seemed very tense. From there you are called for an ultrasound and then sent back. I opted for the ""deluxe"" sedative which really just makes you sleepy. This DOES NOT put you out as the website suggests. The procedure took about 5 mins. tops and was painful but was so quick you didn't really have enough time to focus on it. The staff was very friendly, the office clean and the service was relatively painless. I had no pain afterwards at all and was right back to normal ( just sleepy). This is a difficult decision and I highly recommend this place to help put you at ease. The lady I had was very sweet rubbing my hands and telling me it was gonna be ok. I appreciated that! Cash or credit card only though. Also, there were protesters outside the entire time so be prepared for that. They are really ""in your face"" just keep walking.

Pros: Staff, cleaniliness, cost, availability

Cons: protesters, temperature inside waiting areas, no privavcy, no real sedatives

.

The staff was absolutely wonderful and gave me the best possible care. They were very supportive and made sure I felt as comfortable as possible!
