A number of parents are getting tired of this daycare. When you go for a tour, the director and assistant director will take so much time with you and smile in your face. However when you sign your child up to attend, everything changes. The director is also the owner so you can't appeal to anyone else if you have concerns that aren't being addressed or the director feels isn't important. She is very overbearing and can be quite insensitive to your concerns. Also, if you look on the NC Childcare website, you will see where they recently had an incident where a teacher left a student on a bus for an extended period of time. In most other daycares, that employee would have been dismissed but this director decided to just place the employee in another classroom, still tending to children! It was only after some time later that the employee left. It just gives you a bad feeling overall in the pit of your stomach. There are other daycares with better reputations and where the directors will gently and professionally listen to your concerns. There are other daycares where your child will be taken care of properly, making for a happy child and happy parents. Look for those daycares, not this one.

I really like my child's teacher. However, the director is direct and rude. I cannot recommend this daycare because they charge more than the others and it is difficult voicing concerns to the director especially when you aren't being heard and you are being berated.

I don't usually leave comments (lazy...) and I secretly feel that my kid actually could benefit from the smaller size of classes as a result of the lower-than-actual online review rating (selfish...). However, I was so moved when I looked at the slideshow that the teacher created and sent to me during our family's vacation abroad for my parents to view their granddaughter's cute moments in the States.

My kid has been with CKA for over six months -- happy and active. I took her to visit different daycares around this area and we both were very picky. She liked the daycare at the first sight of the environment (not crowded) and the pretty and friendly teachers. At the beginning, she was still very attached to me but the Director offered very helpful advice and with the teachers' help, she had a very smooth transition from being home with mom all the time to going to school daily.

As I joked earlier, the school is committed to a lower children vs.teacher ratio (5:1) I only know about her age (1-2) than most of the other five star daycares actually do (6:1).

There is a parent's board that meet periodically and pass parents' opinion to the managers, which plays an important role in maintaining the school's quality.

I didn't rate it five-star as I feel the rate is a little bit more expensive considering other daycares that offer corporate discount (up to 10%). Does it worth the price - I guess yes but still I want my discount (cost sensitive...) :-)

I have 4 kids that currently attend Carolina Kids Academy. They range in age from 2 to 8. All my kids are very excited to come. I took my kids out to be a stay at home mom, but when the my situation changed I did not hesitate to bring them back to CKA. The staff all love my kids no matter which teachers my kids have. I have come to management with issues that I've seen, and always felt like I was heard and my opinions respected. I can tell that management has my childrens best interests at heart. I also like the fact that CKA is locally owned and operated and the owner is back again as the director.

Horrible! My child has gone there for a while now, and while I love his teachers, the director leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. She is very nonchalant, doesn't really seem to care about the children or her employees, I have heard from some of the employees that she is not very nice to them and makes their lives difficult over the simplest things....not a great way to run a business. Both the staff and the clients need to be happy and that is not the case with our experience.

I just pulled my child out of Carolina Kids Academy, after she has been there for almost 2 years, not due to the quality of care my child received, her teachers were great!, but due to the Director and her utter lack of concern or care regarding her staff and the families that are there. We have found her rude and disrespectful and would go to her with concerns or complaints and she would seemingly blow us off. She was more concerned with sitting in her office and pretending that she was working than actually spending time in the school.
I would not recommend putting your child there unless there is a change in management!

We have had our son at Carolina Kids for the past year and have been so grateful for the loving care he has received. He just loves going there each day. Program is structured without being too stiff. The kids learn a lot and have tons of fun. Everything is very safe and set up just for kids. We highly recommend it!

If I could rate them even higher I would! I love Carolina Kids Academy! I have four kids. My two oldest were always in daycare somewhere but I could never find anywhere I was completely happy with. Now I have. My 2 youngest have been there from day one. They are fed well with a healthy menu! Diapers changed every 2 hours or more often! The workers are educated. Activities are done daily, outside play too. They take pictures and give to you as well as the projects that your kids worked on. They are all kind and efficient. I feel safe and comfortable with them there. I know that my kids are in good hands. When I moved last year, I made sure that I was still in an area where they could still go to CKA. LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT!
