Message from Tony's Pizza
Mario Alessio and Tony Franzese were born in Italy and came to Brooklyn, N.Y. as boys and were childhood friends. They worked in pizzerias in Brooklyn growing up. Tony opened a restaurant in 1980 in Goldsboro and another in Jacksonville, N.C. In 1981, Mario opened a restaurant in Cherry Point. In 1998, Tony's brother Jack and Mario's brother Vincent joined them and they merged together. They presently have 7 pizza restaurants, most of which are managed by family members. All the restaurants use the same recipe, and the pizza dough is made fresh daily in each location. We use the best ingredients and get the main ingredients from New York. I think they make a good pie, although I find it is pretty pricey for the average family. Good atmosphere and courteous help. I probably may go back with friends, but not with the family.

I visited Tony's for a quick lunch and was able to get in and out with hot pizza that was fresh. The staff was so helpful. It might have been in the middle of a lunch rush but everyone maintained professionalism.

Tony's has the best pizza around. They have great customer service every time we go there. Love the prices on everything they are not expensive at all . And they have fast service to get the pizza to you.

We go to Tony's at both locations. They have the biggest and best pizza in all of Charlotte. The pizza might be a little more expensive, but it is so worth it for the size and taste. Try them ASAP!

We go to the Tony's off of Mt. Holly/Huntersville Rd. every week with a great group of friends & a gaggle of children. They are always accommodating of our huge group -- and the pizza is top notch!! Can't beat it!!

My family loves to go to Tony's! The staff is super friendly and the pizza is delicious. If you love traditional hand tossed pizza, this is definitely the place to go!

Tony's has some of the best pizza in the Charlotte area. My daughter loves the extra cheesy pizza. we will definately go back here when we are in the area

I have visited this location only once for a special event with my local mommies group and I couldn't say more great things about the staff. Everyone was super friendly and the food was excellent.

Great Pizza - Excellent Service

Working within walking distance to Tony's, I get the opportunity to enjoy their pizza about once a week. For NY Style pizza, Tony's has quickly become one of my favs. The service is always incredible, the pizza is always served within minutes, and the price isn't bad either. If you are in the Ballantyne area, you can't pass up trying Tony's.

Absolutely the best pizza. My wife and I order it once a week and have a pizza seizure and subsequent cheese coma every time we eat it. If you don't love it, then you must have the tast buds of a slug.

Biggest pizza ever!

I ordered a large veggie pizza for my staff for dinner one night while working late. I thought the staff was very friendly on the phone. You should have seen the size of this pizza. It was HUGE! The pieces were big too (i hate when pizza chains cut a pizza into 64 tiny slices).
It was chock full of veggies and first few bites had to be eaten with a fork! For the three of us, I probably could have ordered a medium, it was just too big. It was also a little pricey - I think I paid around $26. But it was worth it! I've also ordered calzones in the past and find them very cheesy. Yummy!
Sometimes I have trouble getting someone to answer the phone during dinner time on Friday - so it's probably one of their busiest nights.
Pros: large pies, great soft crust, nice people

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!!

DON'T HONOR SENIOR CITIZEN DISCOUNTS UNLESS YOU ARE PRESENT. MY MOM WHO IS A SENIOR CITIZEN COULD NOT MAKE IT TO THE RESTAURANT AND CALLED IN HER PIZZA ORDER. I PICKED UP THE ORDER ON HER BEHALF SINCE IT WAS RAINING. THE STORE MANAGER REFUSED TO GIVE MY MOM THE DISCOUN ,EVEN THOUGH SHE IS A REPEAT CUSTOMER,BECAUSE SHE WAS NOT PRESENT.
THE MANAGER GOT ANGRY AND RIPPED UP THE RECEIPT IN MY FACE AND REFUSED TO GIVE ME MY PIZZA. I SPOKE WITH THE OWNER JOHNNY BY PHONE AND HE WAS EXTREMELY RUDE TO ME AS WELL. HE ENDED UP GIVING ME A FREE PIZZA BUT BANNED ME FROM HIS STORE. I FIND THIS TO BE DISGRACEFUL AND THANK GOODNESS THEY ARE NOT IN THE FINAL FOUR FOR THE TOURNAMENT OF PIZZA.
ATTENTION BALLANTYNE RESIDENTS: DON'T GO TO TONY'S PIZZA, THERE ARE PLENTY OF OTHER FINE PIZZERIAS WHERE YOU CAN GET GREAT PIZZA AND WONDERFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE.
