I have been a patient here for the past 4 years and have seen a steady DECLINE in the treatment of patients, from both the office and Dr/PA sides of this practice. Stacy Allen, PA, is who I saw the most. My concern is high cholesterol.

The doctor my husband and I see is great, but the office staff does not return your calls when you have to leave a message after waiting ten minutes for someone to pick up. A few of the nurses have been extremely rude to me when they call me back about my results from my lab work. I am a previous cancer survivor and would like to have my results called back. You are lucky if you get the results in a week. Then, when the nurse calls, she acts like you are really bothering her, or her to have to do this. I have been talked to so ugly sometimes by the office staff and nurses that my husband and I are thinking of looking another practice. I'm never ugly or rude to them. They can never get any information straight when you leave a message for a doctor and a nurse always returns the doctors call, not the doctor. Betty, an older nurse is especially rude so hope you never have to deal with her. She interrupts while you are talking. I have complained several times about her and she always denies her actions or the Dr. will give an excuse for her behavior, like well maybe she's having a bad day. Dr. Hamrick is great but he will be loosing two great patients because of the office staff and the rude nurses they have working for them.
Very disappointed patient.

My husband went to see Dr. Babcock as a new patient in June of this past year and this was our first bad experience with him. Dr. Babcock was rude, has terrible bedside manners and did not listen to the issues that my husband was experiencing. We went back again for a different issue in November and had the worst experience with a doctor ever. First of all he was 30 minutes late for the appointment and then when my husband explained that he was having issues staying awake for a 12 hour night shift and discussed a prescription for Nuvigil to see if it would help him stay awake for work, Dr. Babcock refused to prescribe him Nuvigil and diagnosed him with sleep apnea without him ever completing testing. Dr. Babcock once again was rude, interupted when both of us were trying to discuss the issues and did not have any desire to listen to the issues or assist with an option for Night Shift Disorder. Needless to say, we left the office abruply after Dr. Babcock decided he needed to "step out of the office" and refused to let us see another doctor. We demanded a refund our of insurance copay and left. I would not recommend him in any fashion...RUDE!

I have been going to Raleigh Family Practice for over four years now and I always see Amie Clarke. She is knowledgeable and caring, and what I like best is that she takes the time to listen to you. I have been treated for difficult issues that require extra attention as I am allergic to many medications, and even under these circumstances I have never felt like she rushed through or out of an exam.
I do not know what happened between these other individuals and Ms. Clarke, but Ms. Clarke and I have very good rapport and in my opinion she is one of the best medical providers I have ever had the good fortune of finding.

I can't believe that there have been multiple bad reviews for Amie Clark. I find her amazing. After being to a PCOS specialist, and an endocrinologist, she was the most knowledgeable of all of them regarding my PCOS. She referred me to a great gyno, and took the time to listen to my concerns. She went over my extensive blood panel with me line by line, which no one had ever done with me before. She even worked with me on an issue I had to get insurance coverage for it.

The wait time is bad, but I have yet to be to a doctor in Raleigh whose wait time wasn't bad. They're overbooked, and their office staff seem to be barely keeping up with stuff. But I'll keep going there for Amie Clark. She's the best.

Pros: Caring and knowledgable.

Cons: Office overbooked

.

Don't make an appointment with Amie Clarke unless you just have some extra time you'd like to waste.

I have had five appointments with her and she has had someone call to cancel three of them (within two hours of the appointment). The last one was while I was in the car on my way to the office.

Seems she decides at the last minute to take the rest of the day off.

Don't waste your time on her. There are plenty of others in town that want our business!

This practice was strong and efficient many years ago.
They lost a doctor who left on his own accord but probably was the best they had. Would qualify as close to an internist as you'd ever find. Eventually lost interest in funding poor pharma industry. I recently contacted this practice for some meds I've used before. They wanted an office visit and I was just in there for an issue 4 months ago. I refuse to go anymore. Wait times in exam rooms can be up to 45 minutes sitting on the exam table starring at the human anatomy chart on the wall. Then a physician or PA comes in and is in and out in 10 minutes like the woman mentioned...like a hurricane. The receptionists/phone support is as poor and conveys information to you in a phone call that they themselves do not know what is being conveyed. I recently was called with an answer to my message and the phone receptionist refused to put me on hold and find out what a "self-referral" meant by a PA. Stay away from this practice...they've lost there passion and are over booked. STAY AWAY. Too many other new doctors are here now and in Durham and Chapel Hill. NO STARS.

Pros: A couple of the "DR's" are very good doctors

Cons: Amie Clarke, PA has lost her passion

Outstanding providers and staff. Front desk was polite and friendly, phone calls returned promptly, providers all compassionate and knowledgeable. Lab and ancillary staff are top notch. Highly recommended.

Our family has gone to Raleigh Family Practice for over 25 years. Our experience has been absolutely
great!
Dr. Bean saved me personally from a back operation that turned out to be not necessary. Nothing short
of a miracle. Over the years there have been so many problems for myself, my wife and my brother
it would take a book to enumerate. Many of these have been unique medical problems calling for
extraordinary help and in every case these have been met with the very best treatment known to
modern medicine.
We have also seen Dr. Hamerick who is also excellent.
Every person on the staff has been great including PA's Trenner and Clark and we have seen them all.
The nurses (Denise and Beverly) have been very professional and Dixie in the lab is just the best!
We are very lucky to have such a great practice located at the new Rex Medical Plaza.

Very Poor service. the managment is very poor but i dont want to say all the Dr. are bad there are several Dr. in that office and i have not seen all but if you do want to see someone dont see Amie Lyon Clark who is the PA in that office. Very bad Experiance. Does not take her time she rushes in and out like a hurricane. She does not listen to what you have to say and makes you feel like she does not care and really she does not. I left her office with more concern then I had walking in. I even called to speak to the office manager to inform her of what happened and no I did not get a call back. Every one in that office that I have dealt with makes you feel like this is a business they only care about your money and not your health. Very wrong for a Dr. office.

I have only seen the doctor here once, but that is because the PA is so good that I have no reason to see the doctor. He takes time to ask questions, and then explains his diagnosis. I have visited 8-10 times & each time I ask for the PA again because he is better than most doctors I have been to. I am not rushed out of the door, and I can usually get an appointment for the next day for urgent issues. The lab syrology tech takes her time with me because I don't like needles, and the entire office staff is very good. I followed them when they moved from Wake Forrest dr to Rex Hospital - this had made them less convenient & parking more difficult.

After seeing another review, I must add that I have seen Mr. Allen. He explains things well, and takes the time a PA should. I would never go to a PA if they did not provide more time than a doctor -- this is the whole reason for a PA. The one time I saw a doctor, I saw Dr. Larimer & I felt very good about him. Appointments are usually available the same day for urgent cases, and within thre-four days for normal visits. I have mixed feelings about the front staff - have seen both good & bad things.
