I went here for the first time last night. What a CHARMING place! I loved everything about it, I really did. And no, I don't work here, nor am I being paid to say this, lol. I love the torches outside,

My wife, daughter, and I made our second trip to Babymoon this weekend (our previous visit was last year). Both times, we received excellent service! The bread was tasty. Both times, we had bruschetta...it was outstanding! There are so many items on the menu that I wanted to try....guess I'll have to go back!

I was on an out of town assignment for over a year and made it a point to visit Baby Moon at least once a week. I was never disappointed in the food, the service or the atmosphere. Consistency is so important to restaurant diners, especially when out of town. Baby Moon has passed the muster on that every time for over a year. I strongly recommend it! You will not be disappointed. Earlier reviews from the previous owner should not be included in these reviews. It hurts the diners and the restaurant!

Pros: Incredible food, great service, friendly atmosphere

I absolutely love this little restaurant. It's cute, cozy and the food is phenomenal! Every time I venture out that way, I try sometime different. Another great thing is the super friendly, knowledgeable staff! They all seem to care about each table so much - whether it's getting map-quest directions to the nearest CVS (I've actually witness them do this) or just helping them pick a great red wine. They are the best! Thanks for being the best Italian restaurant in the Raleigh area!

Pros: Great Food, Great Staff

Cons: Sometimes it feels crowded if super busy

The first time I ate here I was lucky enough to choose the steak and caesar sandwich, which is delicious! unfortunately though, i havent tried anything else because it's too hard to pass up, and not to mention cheap (like $8). I work in RTP and often eat here, its a great little place!

We just recently moved from Ct. We found this cute little restaurant really close to airport. Food was delicious and service was very good. Loved the decor.

We were on our way from Florida to Michigan and were unfamiliar with the area. Babymoon was recommended by friends and was easy to find. We enjoyed a great dinner served by professionally trained staff. It was a memorable evening, and I would highly recommend Babymoon.

I went to a party at Baby Moon Cafe and it was excellent. All of the food was wonderful and I am told that their prices were extremely competitive. The atmosphere was quaint and casual, which made it very easy to relax and mingle.

The owner of the restaurant and the waiting staff are very nice. If you have a complaint they do take it seriously.

I guess I should start this review by saying I'm probably very difficult to please. I tend to be biased by getting decent service and "doing the right thing" by their customers when I review someplace. Even if I have a great meal. my review will have a negative slant if, for example, someone at the next table ordered the exact same thing and got twice as much food, or if I have to explain what I want four times because the person taking my order was busy talking to their co-worker behind the counter instead of paying attention to a customer.

I've worked near Babymoon Cafe for 3-years now. In that time, several of my colleagues have suggested it for lunch, so I thought I'd try it today. Simple enough, I thought - run in for a sandwich to take out. I went to their website before I drove over, and knew exactly what I wanted.

When I walked in, it was lunchtime, but not terribly busy. I walked up to the take-out counter, and grabbed a take-out menu while I waited to be greeted. I knew what I wanted, but figured it would give me something to do while I waited. It only took a minute or so before someone appeared asking if they could help me. This was long enough to realize that all of the sandwiches on the menu, including the one I wanted, were priced $1-$2 higher than the prices I had seen on the website. In any case, I told him what I wanted, and after 15-20 seconds of studying the cash register, he asked one of his co-workers, "hey, where is a submarine hero on this thing".

His friend replied "we don't make those anymore".

"But, it's right here on your take-out menu", I pointed out.

"Those menus are really old", came the friend's response.

Not really in the mood for anything else, particularly the attitude the second guy seemed to have, I left for an old favorite - the deli down the street (in the back of a gas station) where I can always count on a fresh, stuffed sandwich at half the price that I saw on the "really old" take-out menu

My husband and I were on the last day of a weeklong trek through the Carolinas when we spotted Babymoon Cafe from the road. Attracted by the outdoor seating, we were immediately approached by a friendly young man who went out of his way to quickly accommodate our beverage needs and steer us toward a scrumptious bruschetta. The ingredients were fresh, the presentation was attractive and the reduction sauce was to die for. Our friendly, accommodating server turned out to be one of the new owners. Before long, we were enjoying a wonderful conversation with him and his business partner under the warm Morrisville sun. They not only sold us on Babymoon Cafe, but on a quick return trip to the Raleigh area. If you're near the airport and looking for a great place to eat and drink, visit Babymoon. You won't be disappointed.

So disappointed! Waited for an hour for the worst steak I have ever eaten. Cold, raw, just too many things going with it and the potatoes were just strange.

Do yourself a favor and anywhere else, I am not joking. I may have been there on an off night but everyone at my table agreed. One plus, the waitress was extremely nice.

Just wait until it gets really hot out this Summer and you will see the sidewalk tables full at lunch time. That is a testament to how good the food is. I have been eating there for years and the folks are really great. The owners are friendly to all. My office is right next door and everyone I work with is in love with the place.

Great food and suprisingly great atmosphere for its location (It's located in Morrisville... What a lamo town! only because it's under seige by yankees) Nonetheless, Babymoon is certainly a great place to eat, hands down.

Pros: Pretty cool little place

Being from Italy, I grew up on authentic italian cuisine. A friend told me about Babymoon Cafe and how the food was very good, so I decided to give it a try. The food was amazing and the service was great!!! We had the brushetta, spicy grilled shrimp, and veal parmesean. There selection of wine was also very good. It's good to know there are restaurants like Babymoon that steer away from the everyday chain restaurants such as Olive Garden and Maccaroni Grill. The candle lit tables gave the restaurant a remarkable ambience (great place for a date!!!) So long Olive Garden.....hellloooo BABYMOON!!

Nothing about my experience at Baby Moon was enjoyable. I brought my family there for a fun evening away from the house, and it was more stressful than worth the time or money. We were treated poorly (when we even received attention at all- very rare). We waited to sit and waited EVEN longer for our food, yet the place was less than 1/4 full. My daughter found a hair in her pasta, but was not offered a replacement meal or even an apology. Not only did the wait staff treat us poorly, but the you could hear the owner in the back speaking inappropriately to his staff. My family was horrified. There are plenty other Italian restaurants in the area that will be a much better investment of time and money.

Under the new ownership, I think the restaurant has improved. I was seated as soon as I walked into the restaurant. the waitress I had was so nice! She knew the menu well and was very good at recommending entrees and wine. I absolutely loved the wine she picked out for me. The food is good price and is very delicious. It is a cute little casual restaurant, good for dates! Oh, and they also have patio seating, which I thought was great.

I was in the restaurant recently and was absolutely appalled at how the owner was speaking to the employees. I used to really enjoy the time there, and was excited to hear that there were new owners. I had witnessed the old owner screaming at his employees and expected more of the new owners. I was appalled to see the way they were speaking to their employees. I will not be returning and believe me, I have nothing positive to say to any friends about the new owners and the way they are running what used to be my favorite restaurant.

As of a couple of weeks ago Babymoon Cafe is now under new ownership. We know there have been a lot of complaints about the quality of our restaurant recently and we have not been satisfied with the way it has been run as well. Upon ownership change the restaurant underwent heavy cleaning and renovation so it could be opened as a brand new restaurant. The new owners are very responsible and are taking care of supplying us with everything we have recently been out of. The restaurant will continue improving to satisfy every kind of guest who walks through the door. We are adding new items to the menu, updating the restaurant inside and out and updating the wine list. We have new computer systems and new equipment. Every problem is being fixed to build confidence in our restaurant again. Our reputation has been destroyed but we plan on building it back again.

VERY slow seating. We waited 15 minutes without being acknowledged. We noticed a number of customers come in, wait a while, then leave.
VERY poor service. Staff seemed untrained and did not know how to speak to customers. There were not enough wait staff, but one of them spent her time cleaning the front door window instead of helping diners.
Wait staff could learn some manners. "So do you want something to drink, huh?".
DIRTY plates. Asked for an extra plate for my child. Received a dirty plate. Did not see a member of staff again during meal to exchange it.
AVERAGE food. Food was average. My veal was slimy and not well seasoned.
STICKY tables. Could do with a good cleaning.
DILAPIDATED interior and furnishing.
I guess the above list puts my families experience into perspective!!!

NO STARS......How can a restaurant that specializes in pizza run out of cheese on a Sat evening???? Perhaps a trip to a grocery store in the area would have solved that. They were also out of almost all the wines on the wine list and most desserts, too. After being told we would have to wait for a table (restaurant not even 1/2 full) and more than 50% of what we tried to order not available, we decided this was not meant to be. After 45 minutes of this, the SIX of us decided to eat somewhere else. After several attempts to reach the owner, I have to leave "negative feedback".

Ate at Babymoon for the first time just last night. We were looking for a casual place because we didn't want to get dressed up and Babymoon did fit that bill. It is more like a pizza place, everyone is in jeans and the decor is pretty basic. They had a nice looking patio but the weather was bad so we sat inside. I remembered other reviewers stating that the service was poor so I was kind of expecting it. The girl who sat us had a bad attitude, but our waitress turned out to be very nice. She made several suggestions when we said it was our first visit. The menu is pretty large and the wine list has several selections, but mostly pretty common wines from California. I got their Pasta alla Eric which the waitress recommended because of the sherry cream sauce. However they must have forgotten to put any sauce on mine, because the dish was dry and I definitely could not pick up any richness. The pasta was actually overcooked so it stuck together in a big ball. My husband ordered their pasta with shrimp and andouille sausage. It is supposed to come in a saffron wine sauce, but it actually came out very soupy. The pasta was sitting a big pool of what tasted like broth to me. The only thing that had any flavor in his dish was the sausage. We gave our waitress our opinions when she asked how the food was and she sent us home with a free dessert. Just based on this one visit it would appear their food is pretty bland and you can definitely find better and richer Italian in this area. If they could hire a chef who knows how to use spices I'd probably eat here pretty regularly.

We took my niece there for her birthday based on the reviews listed here. The service was horrible. Our waiter was very grumpy and unaccomodating. That said 2 of the 3 main courses we ordered were quite good, but the ambiance was severely lacking. The 3rd main course that wasn't ideal, had forgotten a main ingredient on the description and was quite bland (penne vodka) I'm really surprised that it was noted as being both kid friendly and romantic dining. It really wasn't either. The waiter seemed very put out by our asking for a high chair for our toddler (despite calling in advance to request a table for 3 adults and one toddler) In fact, no one on the patio seemed to be enjoying themselves except for us. We have just moved here from San Francisco, so perhaps we have too high a bar coming from an area known for excellent restaurants. But the food really was quite good, we were just shocked to have such terrible service. That said, if you go, they do make a yummy dirty martini!

There are very few decent restaurants in this area which is a real shame given its close proximity to the Airport and Research Triangle Park so I have to applaud the team at BabyMoon Cafe for sticking with us...it is one of the few places you can take a client to lunch or dinner unless you want to drive out to Southpoint. The atmosphere is pleasant, the food is usually superb, prices are fair, and for a mid-tier restaurant, I think the experience is great. We need to encourage more non chain restaurants in this area so running nice folks off who are trying their darndest is a real dumb move in my opinion.

The Service was terrible, on top of rude waitstaff. I was hoping that the food was going to be great, but it turned out to be very disappointing. Then, the waiter took forever to bring our check. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants great italian food.

The place was pretty crowded when we arrived (Friday @ 7:45). We were sat and received our water / bread in a normal amount of time. -- Then waited... and waited... and waited... to not only order but then to get something else to drink (we ordered two glasses of wine from the limited wine list) which were both gone along with our water for 10 minutes before I Finally flagged someone down.

The food was "decent" nothing that grabbed my attention or impressed me. Service was downright bad.

they are well deserved!! I was at Babymoon last night with about 5 of my friends. We sat on the patio, which was nice-they have alot of fans outside which really help to circulate the air. The service, however, was the worst I've ever had anywhere. When the last of our party showed up late, one of us asked the busboy if we could please get our waiter, he shot her a nasty look, and mumbled that he'd try to find him. After we got our food, we never saw our waiter again, until it was time for the check. When we asked to split the check, our waiter looked very confused, and brought them back all wrong. When we paid him, it was 20 minutes before he came back with our credit cards, and incorrect change for those who paid cash. Food was not great-go somewhere else!!

Friends always raved about Babymoon so my wife & I decided to give it a try.

Depite the lack of patrons we waited a very long time for our waiter after we had been seated. My pasta was overcooked and only had two tiny little meatballs. When the server came to check on us later & I told him about the overcooked pasta he offered no apology nor did he offer to replace my dinner.

This is unacceptable anywhere, but when you consider the prices at Babymoon it's flat ridiculous.

I just found a Mom and Pop place, like I have been looking for, the owner sat me, cooked my dinner and even came out to see if I was enjoying my self. I had a special, Soft Shell Crabs, my date had veal something, they were both great. We had a dessert that was on special, Fantastic. We sat on the patio and just really enjoyed this place, the staff was very pleasent and upbeat. Give it a try, my new favorite place in town.

Pros: no wait on a weekend, Food is great, nice wine list

Cons: , its not on Glennwood, its not downtown

.

I was out of the loopfrom this place for a few months when a friend said lets give it one more try. Well needless to say I know why they are not that busy. The owner himself my want to practice customer service skills as all you could hear was him yelling in the open Kitchen. Maybe the food would improve if he spent some time cooking it. The meat was over cooked not worth the price andteh cheese cake was jsut okay. I would not call it first class. Maybe we will just do fast food as things have not changed

I must disagree with some of the reviews related to Babymoon, my experience(s) there have always been fabulous! The staff is very friendly and so is the owner. He always makes an attempt to say hello when my husband and I visit. Needless to say, the food is to wonderful! I am a diehard Italian myself, and like Chinese food, Good Italian is hard to find! Well, look no further, Babymoon has it all! Fresh, authentic food, and homemade desserts. And unlike what I had seen on this review from someone else, they don't even serve brownies, I don't know what that lady was talking about! SO long Daniel's Pizza Pasta, hello BABYMOON!!

Babymoon could be and should be in any city anywhere and would be a great find. I travel allover the world and this food is world class.
Every time I come to Raleigh I hit the moon.
Very conveniante to RTP and the airport.
The service has gotten better and more educated as Joe the owner has weeded out the bad apples he has had in the past. The place is always looking as if it has just been tweeked to improve the atmosphere. Great Find. Best of Luck on going.

Pros: Baked Clams, Veal Marsala, Salmon

Cons: Not Down Town

Some of the best Italian food in the triangle. Forget the Olive Garden and Macaroni Grillgo to Baby Moon Cafe if you want a little taste of Italy. And the owner is cute to look at.

First experience w/ Baby Moon was w/ take-out for an office meeting. Every one seemed pleased w/ their selection. I was impressed w/ the appearance of each order. Nice presentation, especially for take-out. I had the Pesto Crusted Salmon Salad. The Salmon was cooked to a nice degree of doneness. By the description "Crusted" I expected something in the way of a Crust on the salmon. It seemed that "seared fresh basil?" had been slathered on top of the piece of salmon, not adding much in the way of flavor. The Salad Greens were crisp, fresh, and colorful. I chose my own vinaigrette over theirs. Theirs a little too oily and lacking flavor for me. Overall, my first impression was good, and their menu and presentation tempts me to go back for more. I'd recommend trying them for your next offic meeting instead of subs or pizza.

Pros: fresh, quick, attractive

I am a regular customer and am always thrilled with the food, the service and the effort that goes into handling the busy crowds. The food is consistenly tasty, the specials add spice to their menu - we eat there often enough that we know all of their items. The owners work very hard to keep things running and we appreciate the personal touch they add. We prefer independents and this one is GREAT!

Excellent food and good service. Plain decor, and not a great location. I have had 5 good experiences at this restuarant.

After moving away from the area I was excited to return to one of my favorite restaurants upon relocating back to the triangle.I visited at both lunch and dinner and I was surprised to see that both were suffering. Not only has the food taken a drastic turn for the worse, but the service went from bad to horriable! And what happened to the dinner servers?!? Instead of my favorite waiter who was there for years welcoming me, I was left to feel unwelcome and an inconvience for. My food arrived luke warm, and only after the owner threw a screaming fit at everyone working. And for the "open kitchen/restaurant" to witness. Needless to say I promply asked for my check and left my cold, bad tasting dish to sit. Not once was I asked if everything was o.k.. Lower than fastfood drive thru service/food they have now.

I have been to the Baby Moon Cafe when they first opened a few years ago. The food was good. Lunch time is always crazy. It is the service that makes the dinner & lunch go down hill. I had to wait 15 minutes for a waitress to finally take our order. We then waited, and waited for our food. I could see my dinner sitting on the counter. It sat there for 20 minutes. I then saw a different waitress pick up my dinner and look around the room. I waved to her to let her know that the food was for me. The restaurant is not kid friendly. When you look around the room all you saw were people with children. You would think the owners would get their act together and make this place more kid friendly and please train your waitstaff!

The wait staff was great. The food was very good and was a rather large portion. Their tiramisu was AMAZING!!!! It was worth the price. Go here if you are looking for an interesting and fresh interpretation of classic Italian dishes. Do not go here if you are looking for a quick and cheap sandwich or salad.

Waitress told us to seat ourselves then asked us to move to another table. We moved but then she said we needed to move back to our original seats. People had already sat there so we stayed. The manager then came and said he was sorry they asked us to move the first time but if we wanted to eat we needed to find another table. No explanation why. We refused and he picked up our napkins. He was a real jerk and we still have no clue what happened.

Over the last year, My wife and I have eaten lunch here between 15 to 20 times. Crowded after 12:00, but worth the trip. The Service is good and the food is excellent. Portions and presentation outstanding. Deep dish pizza, Outstanding. Salads, Outstanding. I've used email coupons there on a number of occasions without any problems.

When first visited Babymoon Cafe in early 2001, I was happy to see that they served sandwiches and salads that were much more exciting and tasty than the usual deli fare. However, since then, I have returned on several occasions for take-out and dine-in, and have found that the service and food to be very unpredictable. Lunch is usually a very busy time, but even then, you can occasionally get good service. Dinner is generally much quieter and slower-paced and service can be good or bad, depending on the mood of the waitstaff. The food quality also seems to be very hit or miss; I frequently order the grilled vegetable sandwich, which is sometimes fantastic, and at other times, slapped together and barely warm. It's a little frustrating to go for a meal and not have any idea what to expect for service and quality.

Baby Moon is a fine place for a business lunch or casual dinner, with a number of tasty dishes that lean toward Italian. Things tend to be quite flavorful - lots of garlic, pesto, fresh tomatoes, mozarella, etc. It is a pleasant place to sit and eat, but the service tends to be quite slow and imprecise, which runs contrary to the prices ($7 sandwiches and $12 entrees).

I have never dined inside, so I don't know about service. I tried this place via takeout and liked it. The side pasta dish was delicous. The salads were good as were the sandwiches and kids meals. You get a generous serving of food. I will continue to order although the previous reviews have me a little nervous about the inside service.

Tried to use a coupon from the entertainment book website and the owner said he was in dispute with the company and would not honor it. Very mean about it. Was for $7.50, how cheap is that. Food was good, bad parking situation, service was okay. He was just trying to get free advertising. Out of principle, would not recommend.

Ok, so the service isn't great. I'll grant the other reviewers that. I, too, arrived for lunch and waited while the servers seemed to ignore me. But once I got service, I was pretty happy. The food came quickly and the portions were plentiful. What really sold me was the side pasta salad. It's rare to get the side dish to the sandwich that actually tastes good. In fact, I ate all my pasta salad and couldn't finish my sandwich (but that was really good, too).

The staff was not very attentive and the prices were just okay. I do not believe I would recommend this to my friends. I should have listened to friends but decided t give it a chance. Never again.
