I read a few of the reviews below and I can only believe they are from a disgruntled former employee or someone who doesn't want Biggs H&A to get business, because they were top quality from beginning to end.

Last spring, I interviewed five different Heating and Air Professionals. I finally chose Biggs since I was so impressed with their representative, Paul, who was extremely honest, professional and willing to work with the financials. He didn't pressure me at all, yet he guided me on what would best suit our home's needs. My instinct was to hire them at that meeting--I did, and it was the best decision we made with a major home purchase.

His team showed up on time, were all friendly but got right to work, finished on time and made sure everything was working. They even sent another representative the same day to give us a personal tutorial on how to work the new digital keypad.

Most impressive of all, was that all of the fiancials figured to the penny. We got all of our rebates and tax refunds exactly as Paul said we would, and saved thousands of dollars. Our Lennox unit (we got the 15-Seer, and actually came to the same as 13-Seer with all the rebates/etc) is awesome and we have saved at least half of our energy bill each month from our very old (24 year old Trane) energy sucker. We are very very happy and impressed with Biggs, Paul and the whole team, and most of all our new system.

I would steer clear of any company who had the gall to appear in TVA ads with that con artist Dave Lennox. Lennox is in business to sell substandard products and then charge outrageous prices for repairs that were defects to begin with.

Two years ago I had a new Trane unit installed at my house by Biggs. Their estimate was by far the lowest and their service is impeccable. They came when they said they would and finished when they said they would. Then I had all the ductwork in my house replaced. Again, by Biggs. The guys that came to the house couldn't have been nicer or more respectful of my house - the carpets and hardwood floors - even removing their shoes before entering so as not track dirt into the house. The place was spotless when they left with no debris left behind. If I hadn't seen it, I wouldn't have even known they were there. The service is excellent and all of it - the installation of the unit and the ductwork - was done right the first time. I've never had to call them for any issue for any of the work they have done. I would highly recommend them to all of my family and friends.

I have never had a company provide the level of service that I recive from Biggs Heating and Air. I get almost immediate response. I get personal and friendly service. And, most importantly, I get my things fixed right the first time with no hidden costs. The techs are nice, and honest, and forthright about the issues. The billing people are great. The service manager is probably nice but I never have to talk to him/her because my issues are fixed right, the first time.
I have recommended them to family members and friends alike.
Everyone I know has had the same experience - friendly, professional, and no surprises.

Our A/C wasn't working and I called American Home Shield and they sent out Biggs HVAC on an emergency basis, who arrived Sunday mid-morning. He looked at the unit and saw there was ice on the unit and said he couldn't do anything. He had already gotten $60 from my husband. He said he couldn't do anything until the ice melted which would require turning off the fan. Two hours later, the ice was melted. Biggs never called back to fix the unit nor have they ever called back. They took money and did absolutely nothing! Must be nice.

If I could give ZERO Star Rating I would. This company's motto is "Big Enough to Serve, Small Enough to Care" yet this could not be further from the truth. My AC went out this afternoon, it was 90 degrees in Raleigh and we needed the AC fixed. Although I was informed of the $119.00 trip charge for the Saturday after hours call, I would never in a million years have guessed this "Small Enough to Care" company would charge another $129.50 to change out a light switch that would cost at most $1.00 at any home center and a $4.00 environmental fee for a grand total of $252.50. Seriously, it took the guy longer to write up the bill and process the payment then to change out the switch. What made me the angriest is that I asked the guy for a quote once he told me it was a defective switch and he said he had to go back out to his van to check the pricing. He came back in the house and never said a word, he just performed the work and then told me the price. STAY AWAY!!!!

After getting bids from 3 other companies- we decided to go with Biggs. Long story short.... they sold us a new unit and new duct work- The work started on June 11th and continued through the 12th. The installers left that afternoon and around 5:20 911 received a call staying our home was on fire. Luckily we were not home. However we are now out of our home for the next 9-11 months while it is getting rebuilt. Both the fire department and an independant fire inspector have determined that Biggs was/is @ fault. We have later found out that they NEVER pulled a permit as the state of north carolina mandates. This is the MOST devistating that that could has ever happened to our family- with 2 children one 5 and one 8 months this has been an unexplainable thing and will now rob my family of a year of our lives- not to mention the night terrors my 5 year old is having. Therefore WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY.

After reviewing the receipt, I called the maker of the unit, and had them ensure for me that the unit was in fact still under warranty, and should be covered. That same night there was another problem with the unit, really the original problem was not corrected. When they came out, after a long discussion with the technician and finally the service manager, they determined that the warranty was valid. In retrospect, they determined that for some odd reason, they determined that the initial repair, that did not correct the problem, was not covered by the warranty, but the second one was.

After consulting with a family member who works for a HVAC company out of the area, I tried to speak with the Service Manager about this, but he refused to budge, so I had my family member contact him, but he refused to speak with them, determined to speak only with myself.

Long story made short, I ate the cost, but I will never deal with this company again, and I will go out of my way to make sure that those I know, know not to use this company. I hope this review helps someone else out there too.
