I called Best Buy Store on Sept. 14th 2009 as well as went into the store (as stated in the comment below) and had a very bad experience. While it is unfortunate that I had a bad experience with this store. The regional manager contacted me and corrected the situation. It is good to know that Best Buy took accountability for the situation and the steps to correct it.

Only take something back if you have hours to wait

My wife and I spent $200 on a vacuum last year making sure to get exactly what we wanted. I bought the warranty and everything (which I rarely do, because normally they are a waste of money). The vacuum started to make noises like it was about to launch.
I took it back to this store and waited in one line, then at the end of that line was moved over to another so the "geek squad" could look at it. I did not move in this line for 30 minutes! I got frustrated and went back to the other line and that one didn't move for another 10! I got out of this line, went to the front of the store and told the guy I was leaving the vacuum with him, left him my business card with my cell phone # on it and told him to have them call me when it was ready. I hate Best Buy.

Best Customer Service

Price matched a competitor every time I come in with their price/ad with no problem. Lowest Prices every time - just need to know how to shop - take the deals they offer - the rebates etc. and do not forget to mail.
Employees were very helpful in explaining a technical illiterate person everything I needed to know and I even had to call and ask a couple more questions and they answered and made sure I understood with having patience the whole time. I also had to talk to management - his name was Dan, I believe a young asian man - he was so polite and professional and did not shove me to an associate, but took care of everything I needed and even seemed to reflect an excitement in serving me - that was impressive. He also was very patient - They have my business!!!

I bought a computer system a couple weeks ago. The salesman who helped me was very helpful and knowledgable about the products. He helped me gather everything I needed to set my system up in a very professional mannner. However when I took my CPU in to upgrade the memory they charged me $30 bucks to install it! Had I known that all I had to do was take the cover off and just snap the chip in I would've done it myself. I felt taken at that point. Then they charged me $20 to install an antivirus program ! I guess that's how they get you. Be nice to you until you buy a computer, but rip you off after you have it. Computer shoppers beware!
Pros: variety, location, prices
Cons: few salesmen, installation charges
