Pros: start from the beginning!

Cons: none yet

.

I hated this bar!! I was willing to deal with the rude people that frequent this place until I got my tab.. A) I work in one of the most expensive venues in Raleigh, so I know prices. But a double Stoli should not come to $14. B) There were extra shots on my tab that I did not order, when asked, the bartender asked if there were different guys putting stuff on my tab! To which I replied NO, there should not have been! He just looked at me like I was crazy. Sorry, but I feel that unless the guy looked like his name was Amber, they should not have let him put things on my tab.
Basically, I had one drink, 2 beers, and 2 shots, and I walked out with a $60 tab! They didn't even try to help with the problem, basically if someone uses your name there, you are screwed! In my opinion, (and at my bar) if you start a tab, its YOUR tab! Random people cant just throw drinks on it. Worst service ever. I will never go back.

Pros: outside seating

Cons: service, crowd, bar

This place is pretty cool. I thought it needed a 5 star boost because It really is a pretty good, fun and trendy place. I liked the bar (the actual bar) it's pretty cool. This place is like the MUCH better version of Rush Lounge (which closed) I haven't been to what's replaced that one yet.

Pros: New school and trendy, no smoking

Cons: pricey

i've never once written a review online, but i was reading all of the reviews below and i just had to respond.

all of you are ridiculous, and clearly can't handle the fact that a place that should be in LA is in raleigh. ergo why one of you recommended hibernian & hi 5. last time i checked, no patrons at mosquito had on sandals, but all of the college kids i've seen at hibernian wear nothing but.

"tanningqueen", what do you suggest? for them to put a port-a-john in the middle of the dance floor?

of all the places i've been in raleigh, mosquito is one of the only places packed to capacity at 1:45 am.

one night i was there and the owner came over to the group i was with and served us champagne. the owner is there every night and mingles with ALL of the different crowds. it's a very diverse place, full of character, all different types of people and groups go there.

in response to your expensive drinks complaint- what do you expect? all nice places you go are going to have costly drinks. if you want cheap, go buy a fifth of Aristocrat and get drunk before you go out. why don't you take into consideration all of the white suede couches they have there that they probably have to replace every 3 months? or the fact that on salsa night they have a buffet of cuban food. or, some nights you don't even have to pay to get in.

none of you "reviewers" had anything relevant to say. if a bartender did something to your drink, please by all means let everyone know. but everything all of you said is a "complaint" that is found at all clubs. no matter where you go you're going to see sleazy people, and chances are they could be thinking the same thing about you. or maybe, they're too busy having fun to care.

stop wasting your time complaining.

Pros: great ambiance inside & out, no smoking inside, great staff, diverse crowd

Cons: none

.

Was not impressed at all. Left at 1:00 AM and still the place was half capacity. The females dress like there going to the mall or Starbucks. Guys in flip flops and shorts? Whats up with that? The good thing is no smoking inside, which I liked 'cause you don't end up the night smelling like an ash tray. I felt it was a safe environment, but lacks the attitude of a great hang out place. Try somewhere else (ie Hibernian or Hi5).

Seriously I liked the place until my boyfriend left me and I was followed down a VERY dark hallway by some creepy guy. The Hallway is the only way to the bathrooms and then bottoms out in an almost black room. I was scared, my gut feeling was run girl run! When I told the door guy he told me next time that happens to just come and get them...Um I'm down a dark hallway on the other side of the building. Thanks for making me feel safe.

I recently had the opportunity to visit this fair attempt at a night club. The place is I must say well designed, if you like caves. It feels better outside than in, and only slightly. What is up with the music and sound in this place? The DJ (loosely put) played far too much hip hop on a tiny mobile sound system that screamed at us the whole night. I have been in the night club business for more years than I care to say, and this spot falls way short on a number of levels.

I've waited a long time to go there, as during spring and summer months it was well hyped by a promo company that is always on point as the next big thing. I went there to support that promo company, but they were no longer involved (can't blame 'em). I was very disappointed when I finally got to go with a group of my friends to find poor service, a greasy wannabe crowd, over priced watery strange smelling drinks, and the worse music in Raleigh.

The owner, needs to rethink, and redo. The bar staff and security also leave much to be desired. All in all, my visit to this spot will not be repeated. Not recommended...

Pros: Beautiful Bathrooms, nice bars.

Cons: Too crowded, wannabe crowd, poor drink quality, inexperienced staff.

.

Here are the pros: it's well decorated, and has a decent-sized floor.
And now the cons: the drinks are overpriced, and the selection is minimal (unless you like cheap, flavored vodka). The music setup is straight out of a high school dance, complete with garage-caliber equipment and a know-nothing DJ who couldn't even set up a halfway adequate mix (his speakers and laptop kept cutting off).
But the clientele is what truly makes this place pathetic. The women were dressed like streetwalking ladies of the night , there were entirely too many guys, and manners were left at the door. These morons couldn't even be bothered to put their empty bottles and glasses on a nearby table or back at the bar; they just left them on the dance floor for others to trip and stumble over.
To seal the whole horrible deal, a fight broke out on the dance floor around midnight. The worst part: the bouncers watched for a few seconds before breaking it up and throwing the idiots out. Very classy.
The owner himself was walking around all night, but he seemed more interested in being seen than actually making sure his bar/club was running smoothly. C'mon, you can't even pick up the bottles your thug-life patrons left lying around?
I hope he realized his place was worthless when he got panty-flashed for the 15th time that night, then stumbled over a broken highball glass on the dance floor while rushing over to see who won the fight breaking out in front of a laughably appointed bar. This place's got a looong way to go before it's anything more than a sleazy wannabe club.
