I have had lunch here on several occassions and went for their Thanksgiving buffet. Both the food and service have always been great! The restaurant is located in the historical downtown section and provides a wonderful atmosphere. I highly recommend it.

I've only been here once, for a special event, and I have to say that I thought the food was just average. Not bad, but not great for the money I know was paid for it. The staff was nice enough, but were really rather blah about the whole thing.

I have been to Soiree for several different events and love it every time equally. The bldg itself SCREAMS old time downtown Mooresville, which I love. The food is delicious and quite reasonable.
My favorite thing there has to be music on the patio during the summer though. The quaint brick patio area coupled with a bottle of wine and some great eats is the best!

The food is phenomenal! The table service is adequate. The prices are a little steep, but doable for a special night.

The special event coordination is laughable at best and downright infuriating at worst. Technology that we were assured would work did not. My husband spent at least a third of our anniversary celebration rewiring the projector hookup rather than mingling with our guests. My numerous attempts to create a schedule and iron out details before the big day were shrugged off by the special event coordinator. That coordinator was nowhere to be found the day of the event and the staff on hand had no knowledge of the requests I had made. One shining moment in what could have been a catastrophe was the staff's willingness to improvise. The lift had broken earlier in the day. Had the servers not been willing to carry my wheelchair bound father up the flight of stairs, he would have missed the party.

All in all, it is a restaurant we will return to as a party of two. We will never, ever consider it for another special event.

We visited Soiree this Thanksgiving weekend looking for something different and away from Charlotte. We found this really nice building with modern and antique touches throughout, in the heart of Mooresville's old Main St. At night, all shops are closed so don't plan on doing shopping and dinner unless you go in for a very early meal.
Our waitress was extremely friendly and made suggestions on the menu. The food is very diverse. Land and sea are found in the menu. I particularly enjoyed the generous portion of sea bass.

Only complain, and I see it as a big reason to not give this place a 5 star rating, is that 20 minutes after we placed are dinner ordered, the waitress comes back to the table and says "the manager just told me there are not enough ribs for a serving. Do you want anything else?" (My starving mom had ordered these). Of course, I don't have to explain what is wrong with all of this. We hurried and picked another item on the menu, lamb chops. Another 25 minutes had passed before we saw all of our food finaly come to the table. The waitress was very appologetic indeed. The food was great after all. We ordered an appletart desert to finish our meal. The issue I have is that after the inexplicable faux pas with telling us 20 mintues after we order a dish that it was not available, I would have expected at least the restaurant to offer us to comp the $5 desert. I mean, they didnt' even give us free coffee. Also inexplicably, we saw who we figured was the manager simply walking around tables and looking seemingly concerned over what was happening on the floor. However, he seemed to have missed our table altogether. Hmm..

In any case, I would recommend this place if you want to get out of the Charlotte routine and have a very good meal. Just make sure you confirm that they have what you are ordering beforehand...

Pros: Great location makes you feel you are away from the city; Very good food quality

Cons: Lack of basic restaurant customer 'recovery' techniques - a lot of "I'm sorry" but nothing else.

This restaurant has been open for a little over a year. I am in the liquor business and have the opportunity to eat at a number of fine restaurants. This is one of them. The chefs, who are also the owners, came from The Point. It really shows that the people who create the meals are also the owners. My wife is a vegetarian and every time we dine there she asks the chef to make whatever he wants. It's always incredible. The building used to be a furniture store and they did a great job remodeling it. Very nice custom lighting, artwork, and furnishings. Definitely worth the drive from Charlotte (it's located in the old downtown part of Mooresville). Excellent steaks, seafood, salads, desserts and of course their custom vegetarian dishes. You will never feel rushed there. Plan on two hours for dinner (salads, meal, dessert).

Highly recommended.
