Food not bad. The portions are pretty small. $13 for tofu soup is overpriced for this area. I can understand that price if it was located in Manhattan, but its in a little strip mall with an asian grocery store next to it. They give you

I have eaten at this restaurant for several times now and half of the time when the lady owner was there, we were always welcome and greeted with a smile. However, the other half of the time, the korean man runs it. I have to say, I have never met such a rude and disrespectful person before in my life. We came in, no greetings, pointed us to table in the corner and then threw the menu on the table and looked away. Came back and ask us what we want with a rude attitude. When we ask him questions, he seem irritated and answer us like were are dumb. I am sorry to give such a bad review, but this restaurant has potential--I hate for it to go down. They have just lost my support....in summary--food decent to good-small portions but rude services

My wife and I love this place and it's a shame to see so many negative reviews about the service. The food is authentic Korean, not "Americanized" for Western tastes. If you come here, get the tofu soup and BBQ beef combo. Watch out when you tell them you want your soup spicy! I grew up in a largely Korean populated town in New Jersey and was suprised to find a place like this exists in this area. As for the service, it is what it is. I go there in the evenings and have never had a problem waiting.

Pros: Authentic Korean tofu soups, wonderful atmosphere

Cons: It's never packed!

The Korean barbecue had a great flavor, but the portion size was too small for the price they charge. I felt like they skimp you on the meat. Some pieces had a huge bone on it with very little meat. Not worth the money.

The Korean barbecue had a good flavor, but the portion size was very small. Received lots of grissly bones with skimpy pieces of meat attached to it. Some bones had no meat at all while other bones had knotty pieces of fat attached. Underneath the bones was a pile of raw onions, which made the plate look more generous than it was. Spent $18 on the meal and left the restaurant hungry.

Pros: Clean restaurant and tasty food

Cons: Food was terribly overpriced and Korean beef portions were boney and skimpy.

Great food, though like others have said, the authenticity is questionable. Stil, if you like Asian food, you will like this place. The lunch bento boxes has a bunch of varieties. However, the price is on the expensive side for lunch (yes, even for RTP), and portions are too small for a guy to fill up. Some items from their regular menu can get really expensive (like their Korean BBQ) for the amount you get.

It does have a very impressive environment though. The outside looks like a normal Asian take-out place, but the inside is furnished like cozy small dining room with Korean influences (wooden decors, Korean dolls and paintings, korean newspapers as window treatment).

I don't really have a problem with Service the few times I went there. However, I've only been there during the non-busy hours during the day.

So, avoid it if you're looking for authentic food or cheap eats. But do go for the yummy asian food and the environment.

I went to Vit Goal tonight and was so annoyed by the experience that I came straight to the computer to write a review. My friend and I came about an hour before closing time. There was only one other table in the whole restaurant. I completely agree with the other reviews here - the waiter/owner guy is completely rude and inattentive. He took forever to come take our order and didn't even bother to come check on us after that. The busser brought out the meal and that was that. He didn't bother to check on how the food was or drink refills.

We ordered an appetizer, soup and a meat dish. I come from a Korean family, lived in Korea and was raised on Korean food - it was ok - nothing special. The "meat" dish had very very little meat in it. Maybe five pieces. The rest was a massive amount of vegetables. It almost seemed like they didn't have enough meat so it was disguised to look like a full plate. For a $13 dollar dish that is unacceptable. All the other dishes tasted the same.

We waited for about 15 minutes for someone to come pick up our plates and give us the bill. No one did. At this point we were the only people in the joint. So we had to walk up to the register to pay. The waiter/owner was too busy closing out his register for the night to notice we were done.

In conclusion, don't waste your money. You'll feel gypped. Go to Chosun Ok in Durham, Korean Garden in Cary or Seoul Garden in Raleigh.

My friends and I went to Vit Goal for dinner.

We were praying when the food came and the manager just started putting down plates, shifting our cups and silverware around and saying "excuse me excuse me". He couldn't wait 1 minute until we finished praying?!?? I understand that he may not be Christian, but that's just extremely disrespectful.

Then, after dinner, he refused to split the check because it would be "too bothersome". That's ridiculous- ANY restaurant would split the check for FOUR people. He was just really rude and I'm never going there again.

The food was pretty good, but the manager's attitude really spoiled the evening.

I have lived in Seoul, Korea for a year. Would I recommend this place to others? I am not sure. I am a woman and not a big eater. I went there with 2 friends; we all ordered lunch boxes. One of my friend ordered the same thinly sliced beef box, and I thought the kitchen put one portion into two! It was that small. The dish was too sweet and not great taste at all. Their service was slow even though there were only two other customers. They misplaced my friend's order so we had to wait even longer. If I pay for $10 (including tax and tip) for this, I would go to other restaurants; it is not worth it.

There were two waiters during lunch time, however, one was helping out the kitchen. It ended up only one waiter serving the whole restaurant, but actually he is the owner/cashier.

Long story short, it took a long time to place an order, to have the food and to refill the drink. Since the food was spicy, I ended up to get the drink myself. The service we recieved was very mininal. Then, the owner came to demand for high tip as he said it's not up to the "average". It's not worth to have a good food but treated like a dirt.

Pros: Good BBQ ribs

Cons: Terrible service

This is a nice restaurant, with good food and great atmosphere. However, their service was a bit disappointing, so many times the server just walked away while we were placing our order to greet incoming customers. The services we received were at best minimal. When the tip was below the expected amount, the server quickly turned disrespectful of their customers. We hope their services will improve one day and become one of the best Korean restaurants in this area.

I finally tried Vit Goal which had been recommended by friends who seem to know a lot about Korean food. I loved it!

The restaurant is located near the intersection of 55 and 54 in Durham. It is a small place located in a new, clean strip mall with three other ethnic food businesses.

Inside Vit Goal there are maybe 10 or 15 two and four top tables. I went for lunch. Their lunch menu features several "box" lunches that are priced at $6.99. My box lunch was the thinly sliced beef version. It was served on a tray that had four compartments (i.e. boxes). The largest included reasonable amount of thinly sliced beef with a small amount of vegetables. The remaining three boxes included: rice noodles, a small salad and fried dumplings and shrimp.

Some have said that the serving sizes are too small. I think we all know who those people are... The serving sizes are not huge - a dietitian would probably describe them as healthy.

In addition the the tray, my $6.99 lunch included a bowl of rice, a plate of kim chi and a refillable glass of ice tea (Korean-style).

The menu is fairly short. Many of the plates and soups focus on tofu. Some of the people around me eating them and they looked good.

Bottom line: reasonable prices; healthy food; fast service. I can't wait to go again.
