We have two kids and have been using RTK for two years. All the staff is wonderful and fantastic with kids. My two kids love going! I know they are in good hands when I drop them off!

I would like to add to the discussion that I used to work for RightTimeKIDS and I always loved the store and Richard. He is very in touch with what goes on there and I cannot imagine him not investigating a problem. I had a problem with another staffer, who shall remain nameless, while I was there and he helped me to resolve it. He didn't believe the sladerous word of the other employee, who had been there longer, and worked to find the truth. I hate to see him slandered here. Perhaps the parent who posted the first discussion item should have been a little more understanding and not so ready to accuse others. Sounds like her "detective" skills are the ones who should be questioned here.

My daughter has been going to RTK-Morrisville 3-5 days per week for nearly two years now, and we've had a great experience there. The staff (even through some turnover) has been responsible, compassionate and kind. I highly recommend this business as good place for drop-off child care.

Pros: No contract, fair prices

Cons: Limited lunch variety

My little boy has been going here for quite a while and he loves it! I always have such a hard time getting him off the video games when its time to come pick him up. The staff is awesome and I trust leaving him in their care. The only complaint I really have is the manager, not the most loving or kindest woman on earth ( I've also heard this from several other parents) but luckily I don't run into her much. Anyways all in all my child and I absolutely love this place! It's so convenient and I am so glad I have found them. I love you RTK!

Our kids (ages 9, 6, and 5) absolutely love going here. As soon as we announce that they are going to RTK for a few hours, they all start jumping up and down and cheering. We have had nothing but great experiences. The staff are all wonderful and know the kids by name as they come in. We go out for the evening knowing that our children are in great hands and that they are having a great time. What more could we ask for?

I have been bringing my children to RightTime Kids since the beginning of the summer, and I am so glad I found this place!!! What started off as a simple hair appointment with free childcare turned me onto one of the best childcare ideas I'd ever seen. Drop in childcare is amazing! The staff at RightTime Kids always seem to care about what's going on with my children, they are warm and loving, and I have never even questioned the safety of my children while they are in the care of the women who work there. I have met the owner on several occasions and I must admit that I see a gentle human being in Richard, not a jerk or anything else like that. I can't imagine an 8 year olds story being so right on that a parent could believe that staff members were abusing children. 8 year olds have very active imaginations, and it may be possible that these accusations are the result of the imagination playing into the story that even the owner agreed was 80% correct. I will continue to bring my children to RightTime Kids, and I will not believe that the staff there could possibly abuse any child in their care.

My child is a six year old little boy who visits RTK every summer. My experiences with the staff and RIchard Slay have always been pleasant and professional. My son enjoys visiting the center and is often not ready to leave when I arrive to pick him up. In this industry you are always going to have difficult situations and difficult parents- in my opinion the staff always have the childrens best interest at heart.

I love RTK and Richard, the owner, and ALL the staff are amazing and my kids love, love, love it!!!

As for Virginia B...if I were you, I would worry more about my "very bright" daughter. Looks like you have a very bright little troublemaker on your hands!

Is this a slanderous attack on the owner or true concern for what happened? I've been using RTK since they opened and have nothing but good things to say for the staff and owner. I have met him and he is genuinely a fine person. Miss E (I'm pretty sure I know who this is) is also the sweetest young lady. She adores my kids and always greets them with a big smile. Acusing her of threatening to rip up artwork of a 2-year old is simply ridiculous. She doesn't have a mean bone in her body and I hate that she has to be forced to hear such a serious accusation. I adore the staff at RTK and will continue to use and recommend their services. They are simply "The BEST" in my book.

Its hard to describe the hurt and anguish I've gone thru since Friday night in trying to resolve this issue in a civil manner. One of my best employees who has been nothing less than a gem for the last two years has been allegedly accused of abuse. I'm still in shock. Mrs. B's 8-year old daughter related the incident that happened on Friday night fairly well. She did get about 80% correct as Mrs. B. indicated. For those of you who care, this is what I was told happened on Friday night by two of the employees who were working that night. This was shared with me in two separate conversations and both of them gave me the same details of the incident. We'll call the 2-year old girl Julie to protect her identity. Julie has had difficulty with potty training while attending RTK. Her parents say she does fine at home but can't seem to stop playing long enough to use the potty when she is with us. Her parents gave us direction to take her to the potty once per hour while she is in our care. On Friday night at the first hour mark, Miss E (employee) asked Julie to go potty. Julie was coloring and had her legs crossed and was holding herself. It was obvious she needed to go but she didn't want to stop coloring. Miss E told her that if she had an accident that she would have to be picked up by her parents as we did not have any spare clothes to change her into. Yes, she would have to leave RTK that night. Miss E again asked her to stop coloring and go to the potty. This caused Julie to cry as she did not want to leave RTK nor did she want to stop coloring. She cried for 20-30 seconds and then went to the potty as she was asked to do. There were no more potty issues that evening. The accusation of Miss E stating she would tear up Julie's artwork is one of the cruelest things I've ever heard and simply is not true. At Mrs. B's request, her phone number was given to Julie's parents some time that night or the next day when Julie was back at RTK. I do not know if Julie's parents have called Mrs. B but they are keenly aware of what happened on Friday night as all emails sent to me by Mrs. B have been forwarded to them. I am currently trying to set up a meeting with them to discuss. I have also attempted to meet with Mrs. B but she has not accepted. One other thing that needs to be known. There were a lot of kids in the center that night so I'm sure the noise level was quite high. This could have caused Mrs. B's daughter to misunderstand what she heard. If anyone wishes to email me directly or speak with me regarding this incident I can be contacted at 919-606-8619 or rslay@nc.rr.com. My focus now is to resolve this issue to Julie's parents total satisfaction. And yes, I will gladly allow the DSS to investigate this matter.

My daughter, almost 9 years old and very bright, came home from RTK at Davis drive one night saying there was a two year old who one staff was trying to get to go to the restroom, but having little success and then resorted to sternly telling her that if she did not go potty she would not ever be able to come back to Right Time Kids and that she was going to destroy the picture the little girl had just made. Outrageous! So, I called the center that same evening and attempted to pass my phone number on to the girls' parents as I am certain my daughter got at least 80-90 percent of that story correct and felt the parents ought to know that something had gone terribly wrong. I also emailed the owner and informed him of what I had been told. His response was that this employee "would never" do this and she "could not have said the things" my daughter alleged. So, his mind was made up and said he would ask this staff directly if she had done so; I congratulated him on his great ability to sniff out the truth- I am pretty sure that is how all detectives find out who committed the crime- just ask the alleged criminal! In any event, I gave the owner a hard time about his handling of this and did the best I could to elicit a response from him since the girls' parents had never called. I felt I was the only defense this little girl had. Needless to say, Richard Slay, the owner, sent out an email to the girls' parents and the staff member trying to somehow paint me as the bad guy. This is not unlike one of his emails in which he said that the toddler was having trouble potty-training as if that were some sort of excuse for the mistreatment. The one thing this jerk did right was to include the girl's parents on the email after the fifth one and a threat of CPS involvement. The only thing worse than the first situation was how Mr. Slay handled it. Clearly, he could only think to defend his self and not the child. Heartless as a human and unprofessional in business.
