The food was "OK" and definitely ONLY OK, but the service and customer relations is probably the worst I have experienced anywhere in WNC, and possible the country! We went with another couple of friends and needed a table for 4 on a fairly busy Friday evening. We were expecting a bit of a wait and were told about 30 minutes.
After waiting for nearly an hour and 30 minutes we started to question why other people that we knew arrived after us, were being seated. They informed us there was some confusion and we would be seated next. We still waited another 20 minutes! We ordered and the food eventually arrived, but was missing some of the fillings that should have been in my cal-zone (along with some other mistakes)! I didn't want to wait for it to be recooked, as we were now running late for our sitters, so they just bought the extra topping out separate. After the meal we complained to the manager (and again the next day) and were offered a $10 per couple discount off our next meal...
The biggest problem came when we tried to redeem the vouchers! We were told that we had already been there and redeemed them, and could not use them again (we definitely hadn't!) and what's more, if we hadn't been drunken and rowdy on the night of the original meal, the problem wouldn't have occurred!!! NONE of us had more than one glass of wine (if any) and were definitely NOT drunk and ROWDY!
We will NEVER eat there again, and I will be telling everyone I know NOT to either!

Ok so we try to support local when we can, here in Asheville or while in other cities and towns. We hear and know that Nona Mia, is struggling so we try to help and eat here in the nw location, first time was good food but we ate outside so the loud noisey, over lit dinning room well was not a factor. This time we ate inside, was starving, ordered our meal, waited for the standard bread , to be brought while waiting, it never came so we inquired, was then told that they do not allow bread before your meal. Told "It was to expensive" We were shocked ate our meal used the comment card was then flooded with the server, and manager, never told why they could not provide bread for their customers, but told many stories, about, the policy changing, to the owners just not caring about feedback even from staff about the policy. As we were leaving the owner came out found us we explained the issue, got a abrupt, cold, response! told well i gues i can just raise all my prices!!! Or you could have a proffesional attitude dear. Take the feedback and work with it or not. But to act in the way she acted, it decided the issue! We will never be back! Never send a person back to this place that has good food but very poor service! Pricey! and if you want bread well you will get a slice with dinner!

This is probably the best damn pizza I have ever tasted.
If I were to open a pizza joint, this is the exact pizza I would make.
Deliscious and cheesy and chewy and crispy and just right.

Amazing find!! It was a Friday evening and the place was brimming with enthusiastic customers. I travel a lot and am always looking for a nice surprise - that I can find a great dining experience using Italian intuition! From the moment I entered, I was smiling and couldn't stop! The lamb was remarkable, the polenta was delicously authentic; and, the menu was very inventive! As busy as it was, it seemed that the kitchen ran smoothly and the service was timely and friendly. The entrees were not only scrumptious but were also a visual feast! Kudos to the owners for putting together a recipe for success!

Our starter and entrees were wonderful. The dessert was awful - took one bite and left it. The woman in red glasses refused to remove from bill when the server asked her (we saw this happen). Poor business practice and left a bad taste in our mouths. Literally and figuratively speaking

Can't say enough great things about this place. The food is delicious and prices are very fair. The service has never let me down, even on the busiest nights!

What a wonderful treat. Our office had our Christmas Lunch at Nona Mias just yesterday. How wonderful it was!! I ate off the Special menu...MBLT..like no other BLT I have ever had it. It was fantastic and the portion was perfect. My Boss and another had the Romano Crusted Chicken Salad and were very delighted. A pepperoni and cheese pizza topped off order and it was above and beyond expectations! This pizza can feed 3 or 4 for lunch with a lovely salad. We traditionally go out to eat for birthdays and holidays and now Nona Mias is sure to top our list. I plan to return for a gift certificate for a friend for Christmas.

Not only is the food amazing and soul satsifying, but our Friends at Nona Mia are also a tremendous asset to the community. By supporting the Asheville City Schools Foundation, they are ensuring that every child can access quality education. Our thanks to them!!

Nona Mia's is quickly becoming one of our favorite hangouts. We love the atmosphere of this cozy Italian cafe, and the wine list is nice too. The chicken piccata, lasagna and sandwiches have all been delicious. I had the filet mignon as a special dish and it was presented beautifully. The portions are not too large...but not skimpy either. I believe that their Farmhouse Pizza is the best in town. Goat cheese, spinach and tomatoes combine for a taste sensation! This is one local spot you have to visit before 6 pm if you want to be seated within a reasonable amount of time. Even still, it's always worth the wait.

Authenticity is the best descriptive word for Nona Mia. It not only has a fabulous menu of tasty pies and pastas with great sauce (isn't it always the sauce that matters), it is sensitive to its employees who get the weekends off! Yep, this tiny restaurant in West Asheville is closed on the weekends. So plan an outing M-F for great Farmhouse pie or a dish of meatballs. Wine and beer are available. You may have to wait because its a very popular hangout, and parking can be tricky. It's worth it, though.
