.

So we read the bad internet reviews on other sites but wanted to try it out anyway. The biggest complaint others had was they WERE ALWAYS OUT OF FOOD!

Anyway, we arrived to watch a Steeler game. They told us they did not get the game (even though they have Direct TV and could scroll ahead to see that game WAS on). There was PLENTY of seating and the place was empty on a Thursday night (you'll know why shortly). For an appetizer, we ordered wings but they were OUT. We asked for crab poppers...they were OUT. We asked what else they were out of and the waitress rambled off a list that we couldn't even keep up with (hence all the other bad reviews stating they are out of stuff).

We ordered chicken sandwiches because there is not much else on the menu. I asked for wing sauce on my sandwich (a buffalo chicken sandwich). The sandwich came but the sauce was on the side. Annoying but I can deal with it. The cole slaw was replaced with potato salad that looked eerily similar to what we purchased earlier in the week at Food Lion (right next door).

Our final gripe was the 20% mandatory gratuity. Some of the best restaurants (like Sunset in Duck) only charge 18% and offer better service and food). To require 20% when your restaurant consistently receives bad reviews is greedy. Yes, you list it on the menu but customers don't leave when they first sit down and see that. They WOULD if they knew what was to come.

Be very careful with this restaurant. If you are picky and annoyed easily, do not eat here. If you want better service, better food and a classier joint, try the Brew Pub. For a better bar, try Sundogs. If you don't mind the drive and want quality seafood and good service, visit Sunset in Duck. Go at sunset and you are in for a treat.

We visit yearly and I may wait a couple years before trying this place again. They can fix things with a new kitchen manager and a better menu but they likely won't (still get customers who don't visit this website).

Best of luck!
