Though I have been to some caves which glisten with stalagtites and stalagmites, and look like a glass cathedral, Linville is truly a cave. There are no bottomless pits, lakes, or huge rooms, but there is water flowing throughout. Before you enter and a little ways beyond, you can look down and see trout swimming. Very interesting tour that takes probably 30 minutes.

Linville Caverns was a neat site. We went in the summertime, and while it was 90 degrees outside, it was in the 40's inside the caverns, so I'd recommend that one should bring a coat or sweater when visiting. Also, if you're claustrophobic or have a fear of darkness, there will be times of closed in hallways and dark areas along the tour, though it is part of the fun. I would recommend it if you're visiting Boone or the areas surrounding.
