Ok here we go, a couple of days ago I went to the Firestone AAFES care care center to get an estimate on a 90,000 mile service for my 2005 Chevy Equinox which came to $624 and some change. I previously did some price checks with other garages and dealerships to find the best price, well long story short.

I set the appointment, took in the truck really early this morning and around 1200 got a call from the mechanic saying that I needed the coolant flush and a battery charge, for 190.00. In return I let him know that I was not happy with that estimate and no that was now necessary. So around 3:00 I got the call that my truck was ready.

So come to find out when I finally got to pick up my vehicle, that Firestone on Fort Bragg has no set for the price for the 90.000 mile service, he did not call any Chevy dealership to see what the service requires and did not even care that he lied to me, the mechanic made up his own prices and did not even do a correct service.

The original service recommended by Chevy : OIL CHANGE, all filters changed, trans flush, lube every thing on the chassie, tire rotation and balance, brake inspection( which we were going to pay for anyway) radiator flush, change all plugs and wires; from Carmax $400 and a Chevy dealership $600.

This service is suppose to go on my maintence record but what am I recording??? plugs and wires, tire rotation, without a balance, and the same oil I came in with??? who pays that much for plugs and wires??? and what about my car warantee, that is part of agreement with that company.

And to top it all off, I paid for a brake service and they didn't even reset the emergency brake after having to pay extra for a rear brake adjustment after they put the new pads on and that part of the repair service, woooow. Honestly, I really think that soldiers should stay away from that garage, mainly because the actual research that they say that they are doing in a STRAIGHT LIE!!!
You can bet your bottom dollar that I will be going to JAG tomorrow.

I WANT MY MONEY BACK!!
OR THE SERVICE I WAS PROMISED BY FIRESTONE!!!!

Pros: CONS, TOO MANY CON

Cons: CHEATED OUT OF A 90,000 MILE SERVICE

.

Competitively priced tires but the service is poor, the work on the car is worse, over torquing lug nuts, rotating without balancing is common. When you identify a problem with the car they expect you to make an appointment rather try to correct the problem they created by the service in the garage. Based on the managers? reaction the couple of problems I have brought to there attention, the management is well aware of the quality control issues within the garage bay and either gave up on them or does not care to do anything about them. If you want good prices on tires and you want to mount them yourself them this is the place for tires. For the record, my girl friend has purchased tires here twice. I have purchased once. Every time I have to check the lug nuts and go back and have them loosened. I am a 40 yr old 250lb man that could not break the lugs free with the tools available in my garage to include air tools. How would my 130 lb girlfriend break the lug nuts free if she had to make a road side repair? I probably over rated this enterprise. Especially since I have explained to them what their employees were doing wrong to the cars and they have made no corrective action after all this time.
