People, this IS the best place to have breakfast in Culver City, bar none. The servers have been there for years, and they give everyone a separate check, which I found interesting. It's great if a group of friends are there and paying separately. El Marino owners, (Sam) I believe. Get there EARLY on the weekends for breakfast. They have "healthy" options for all those watching their waistlines or carb count. They are very accommodating even for the little ones. And yes, you will wait in line. You get the feeling you are walking right into a country diner from the 70's. You can park across the street at the bank on Sundays but there is metered parking. Prices are "okay", definitely worth every penny though. The kids love the pancakes. I recommend "Sam's Special Coffee", you will love it. It's "to die for", as they say... : )

This place is *always crowded*. But, it's vintage diner: Huge portions, low prices, broken seats, and a future cardiac arrest. We've been here for breakfast several times and the food is great. Cash only.

The teeny place and the way old decor does not do the place justice. The food is good- comfort food at it's best, and all the wait staff is friendly and prompt. Go here and run into friends while enjoying the STRONGEST cup o java you can get for a buck & change. There is just something so fun about this place.

Small and it's been there forever- Sam and Woody's is always packed and with good reason. Expect to wait for a table at lunch on weekdays or for breakfast/brunch on weekends. It has the feel of a country diner from the decor to the female waitstaff. They only take cash and they do individual bills (great for people who want to split the bill). Large portions of incredibly yummy food (hash browns, hot chocolate, chocolate chips pancakes to name a few things one should try) for CHEAP. Definitely worth the wait.
