The atmosphere is nice too bad the food is worse than tv dinners. We had just moved ot the area when we ate there and I thought it was really "gourmet"...that was a joke. After the food came I was wishing we had just gone to shoprite and picked up a few tv dinners

Pros: very nice set up and friendly

Cons: Bad food...

Had a pizza from here while on vacation. It was awful. Very dry and flavorless. Thank fully we were just on vacation so we don't have to worry about it but if we lived there we would never eat there again.

my prime rib was purple, half of the rehersal dinner guests did not eat their food. I complained to the manager and they gave me $260 for my trouble. what a joke! stay away from this company and the Carriage House as they are the same place.

Smithville Inn was awesome for the wedding- highly recommend them!!!

One of the finest Italian restaurants in the area. The building is beautiful - a far cry from their original digs across the street. The inside gives you the feeling of privacy - you don't feel that other diners are sitting on top of you. There's a quietness - not a din - surrounding you. The food is excellent and so is the service. I personally get bored with Italian food - but when anyone suggests going to Gourmet Italian, I'm ready to go!

We had a great time at the Gourmet Italian Cuisine. The restaurant was beautiful - it is an intimate yet a family friendly environment. The service was great and we enjoyed our food (delicious and perfect portion size) and drinks were mixed well.

A few years ago Gourmet Italian closed the small friendly restaurant across the intersection. The new one is a veritable palace. There is a bar room with strange art hanging overhead, raised areas, a big fireplace and lots of televisions. A banquet room. A large dining room with a raised booth area. A small private dining room. The food is delicious. Great salads and appetizers that range from Asian food to Greek pizza. Fantastic lunch specials. If you want to eat at home or office, pick it up. They can not get a delivery right. A never ending pawrade of people who can't find where they are going, bring the wrong orders. Promised to fix it usually require longer than it took to build the building.

Maybe the Gourmet is all you have in Galloway, NJ. Maybe you should drive 5 more minutes in any direction.
Went to the gourmet the other night, gentleman in the corner, sitting at a podium? staring at everyone creepy. Is that the owner? I get the feeling of controlling micromanagement of the place. Let's not forget I called that night for directions and waited forever on hold. Ok, so I went a week later for lunch with 3 friends. Sat in the bar area. Basically no one else, except maybe 10 using the room behind for a catered event. Well, it might as well be as if we don't exist. Worst service ever. Makes me wonder why I just don't go to McDonalds, I am spending good money for poor service, yup. One waitress to run the entire place. There is no one else that is scheduled or can come in to work? I guess that's how you make your money. Very poor service. And there are two or three people standing around to greet you when you come in the door. I won't be going again for lunch or dinner. Wait an hour to get lunch. Drinks empty. Food mediocre. Let me tell you where the food and service is much better.... Applebees, TGI Fridays, Ruby Tuesdays, Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Chillis, Marizios, Changs, China May, Mill Street Pub, Los Amigos, Yama, etc. No need to complain, just don't go. Your money and word of mouth is the best way to promote good service. I think of this place like a good looking girl that you don't know. You're drawn in by looks, but get to know her, and you will split quick. How about I call it... Mediocre Italian Cuisine.
