I am an Indian and have traveled across US and may other countries ........... I feel this is the worst Indian Food I ever had in my Lifetime............
Food prices are extremely high, while the quality of food is extremely poor and tasteless...........
Its no where even near in taste or quality to any Indian Food..........
I can very well say it's a shame to call them even INDIANS and the food Indian Food......Seriously......
My sincere opinion is go to this restaurant at your risk......
avoid going this place it's terrible food........
Not at all professional, very rude people and charge for every item including water..........

Hi all,
Good thing about this restaurant - very near to Office, gets both VEG and non-VEF during buffet

Bad thing: 1. Charges for water bottle. According the FOOD services, water should be served by the restaurant FREE. No one has yet complaints against this behaviour
2. The server behavior is some time very rude with the Indian customers
3. If you take the Dal in another bowl, the owner complaints you on your face which is very embarrassing to us.

They should suppose to change themself.

So be careful

Before I give my review, I want to tell you that I am from New Delhi and been living in the US since past 6 years, I have eaten at most of major Indian food locations in United States and I know exactly what I am talking about, when it comes to reviewing Indian food. So here is the REVIEW for TADKA Restaurant: I have eaten the buffet twice and also had dinner here, and the quality of food is significantly better during the dinner time when you order from the menu. The buffet is pretty average and the quality of food is average, if not below average. They do not know how to make DAL MAKHANI and they are less than generous in refilling the buffet dishes, especially dishes containing cottage cheese like KADAI PANEER / SAAG PANEER. They do not even have RAITA or yoghurt mixed with cocumbers and tomoatoes; which is usually pretty standard fare at any Indian buffet. Also, one thing that truly made me angry is the fact that they do not provide any tap water during the buffet. You are not allowed to bring beverages from outside and if you need water, you have to purchase bottled water at an additional cost of $1.0 even though the menu price is $1.95. I have never seen this kind of atrocity happening and its just not fair. I read another review of this restaurant at another website where the lady thought she was getting FREE bottled water. WELL SHE WAS WRONG!!! The buffet overall is very average in terms of quality and if you want to enjoy a good buffet, I highly recommend you try some nicer place like the RASOI restaurant at India Square right next to White Castle Restaurant in Jersey City. This restaurant has an Indian buffet that is above average in quality and you can try both places to see the difference for yourself. And NO, I am no representative from this restaurant. I guess TADKA people can fool foreigners who do not know what real authentic Indian food tastes like, but not Indians like me who have eaten the best. The best Indian food is ofcourse available in Delhi!

Pros: The dinner ala arte food is better and more carefully prepared!

Cons: The buffet food is below average in terms of quality, variety of dishes and value for money!

My mom and I tried Tadka and it was Very TASTY, perfectly spiced food with a cozy atmospher, it's not a place to go for romance but the food was VERY tasty and the owner was very nice, it appears he does it all there, answer the phones, waiter, clean up, etc. He was very helpful in selecting dishes and explaining what's in it. They also have take out and will deliver. They're not open on Sunday, one draw back.

My boyfriend just loves this place. He's been talking about it for months, so I finally took my mom there. We got there before 7:30 on a Monday and there were only four or five customers. It was well after 9:00 before we got our entrees! The waiter/host/receptionist, very friendly, explained that it takes time because the meals are made to order, and of course he didn't put in the order for our entrees until we were done with the appetizer. (What??) He said this as if it was the most normal thing in the world to him. Is that a cultural difference? Even so, you'd think they would've learned within the first month or so of business that Americans expect their meals to move along at a nice clip.

The food was good.. I guess. The entrees came almost an hour after the appetizer, so we weren't really very hungry by the time they arrived - it was like we'd already eaten dinner once. Plus, we were annoyed that our evening plans had been pretty well befouled by the delay. Under those circumstances, it's hard to give the food a fair evaluation, but I was not very impressed. The Lamb Saag had an interesting flavor, but i've had better Rogan Josh, and the portion of meat was a bit stingy, IMHO.

We had a pleasant enough time chatting it up in the nicely decorated space, but the whole experience made my birthday dinner entirely unfestive. Bah humbug, Tadka. I hoped this was just an odd bad night for them, but I'm not anxious to give them another shot.

Pros: Decent food, Decor, Parking, Friendly service

Cons: Slo-o-o-ow; unremarkable entrees, appetizer, breads

Worst service ever. One person does it all type of deal and food isn't that great.
I think the son takes care of billing
