I didn't even want to give it a 1 star but I had to put a rating down. This place is the WORST restaurant. We placed an order for delivery at 7:05pm, we were told 45 minutes tops (we only ordered two things). An hour later our food was delivered...wrong. They gave us our gyro with no tzatziki sauce, how that happens I don't know. So we called and they promised to bring over sauce right away, that was at 8:05pm. at 8:20pm I get a call saying he will be there in 5 minutes. At 8:30pm I called to see where he was (we live not even 5 minutes from the restaurant) and am told he is on his way and will be there any minute. I called again at 8:45pm, at this point fuming, asking to speak to a manager. I told the manager at this point I will drive to HIM to get my money back - which he refused to do. He argued with me saying that I was wrong and didn't wait as long as we did for the sauce. Even though our food at this point was cold, and we still had no sauce, he REFUSED to refund any money and was arguing with me on the phone not even letting me get a full sentence out.

They hide behind the fact that they were once on the Food Network - that was years ago and clearly the diner has gone downhill since then. Guy Ferrari wouldn't take a dump in this place.

End of story - this is the worst customer service I have ever experienced. And being in the restaurant in person is not much better. The food is mediocre at BEST and isn't worth the almost $25 we spent on 8 wings and a gyro. TERRIBLE staff, TERRIBLE food, TERRIBLE owner (Jimmy), TERRIBLE restaurant. SKIP the Jefferson dinner and go to the Sparta diner - that is where I will be going from now on.

The Jefferson Diner is the best family owned diner in New Jersey. Their food is the best!! The menu is extensive and the service is pleasant and delightful. They will also make any reasonable request that is not on the menu. Highly recommended.

Now I will never go there again after this last trip earlier today. I met a friend there. She got Lobster Bisque soup & a Hamburger Parmigiana platter with fries, she wanted waffle fries, so the charged extra and I got a cheeseburger. No fries, no nothing. That with 2 sodas cost $27.50. $27.50????? This is a diner!! Not some place in lower Manhattan!!!!!!!!!

The hamburgers were thick, but they were horrible.

My recommendation..........go to Wendys or McDonalds right down the road. You'll get the same stomach ache, but at least it won't cost more than $25 bucks.

I love diner food, and when you find a good one, it's a keeper. The Jefferson Diner is a keeper. Even a burger and fries tastes better here and the prices and staff are great.

One of the best when it comes to diners. The staff were courteous and friendly, the food fast yet good and the prices quite reasonable. The location and hours convenient.

Jefferson Diner is located right on Route 15 and is one of the best local diners. They always have great burgers and fries. I love their milkshakes as well.
