I have to say how great a job Paul, Matt and Greg did. They are true magicians, and I really don't know how they were able to run all the wiring with only 3 holes in my walls! Actually the holes were also in unobtrusive places too. My hats are off to them. They were also easy to have in my home too. Thank you for all you have done too. So glad I listened to you. Just fantastic!
Light is great. In my just redone dining room, they added 4 little recessed lights and a dimmer without making any marks or holes in the walls I don't have to paint (or even vacuum).
Matt was prompt, professional and solved our problem quickly. We had a heating problem and it was getting cold in the house. A-1 responded quickly and got Matt here in short order. (I know they had to alert another customer that they would be delayed a little while they took care of my emergency.)
I spent thousands on electrical work and found them to be completely unreliable.
Final cost was twice original estimate. The crew left the job unfinished and did not return until after several angry conversations with Paul (the owner). Wiring had to be corrected after inspection. They ripped out attic insulation and made no mention of it or attempt to clean up debris.
One particular aspect of the job wasn't finished, and when I pointed it out to Paul, he blamed me for not requesting it properly.
P.S. - they never answer the phone.

Blaming others He bought an old house with old wiring. We estimate to replace some bad wiring, and then found (buried in insulation) other knob-and-tube wiring. We alerted him and he told us to do the additional work. He had a lot of activity trying to fix up the house and was faced with many decisions. We reviewed many items and options. Four months later, he suddenly realized he needed another speaker wire. We did not have angry conversation but I would not agree with him that is was our fault. That made him livid. He did tell me he handle the speaker wire question himself but couldn't accept that he had miscommunicated what he wanted. Given our many postings of satisfied customers, Super Service Awards with Angie's List, etc. he will always stand out for his extreme reaction to a small item. PS. We do not put customers on hold when the other line rings, and we spend a lot of time talking to customers.They were very helpful in getting my work done. They asked me when I was available, came on time and were very pleasant. (I sent them a thank-you note since I was so impressed.)

I've used them many times and they are consistently good. I was happy to see the listed on Angie's List too.

Not only are they hard to reach, but when there was a problem with their work, I was given an endless and absurd list of excuses.
The crew never wrote anything down and multiple times I had to stop them from doing the wrong repairs.
The final cost of knob and tube wiring replacement was double the original estimate.
When they discovered their mistake they told me the higher price and left without completing the job. I had to argue with the owner to get them back two weeks later. Another day I had to take off work.
They forgot to run the correct number of speaker wires and later blamed be when I pointed it out.
They mislabeled the service panel and left a mess in the attic without telling me.
Staff seemed like they were doing a lot of the work for the first time.
If you are not a contractor, you will be at the bottom of their priority list.
Pros: my house hasn't burned down (yet)
Cons: sloppy, slow, bait-and-switch
I called them and talked about what I wanted. They came on time (after calling) and did exactly what I wanted. The bill was what they told me over the phone. That was just too easy.

They solved my electrical problem quickly and explained it to me. They stayed within the estimate the gave me so I'm very happy.
