Since my oldest son was about two years old, he had abmornally large tonsils. He is now six. This past year, he ended up with strep three times. After the second time we asked could his large tonsils have anything to do with it. My son had trouble swollowing without being sick. Dr. told my husband and I that our son would grow in to his tonsils..... My son ended up getting both his tonsils and adnoids out two months ago, after the third time with strep.
I also have a 10 week old son. He has had a nasty cough, makes a loud squeeking noise when he breathes and spits up all the time. It is apparent that my newborn is not comfortable. Every time I brought the baby in for an appointment, I brought this up. Last Saturday, he seemed very wheezy. I brought him in, the dr. did look at him. But, told me that there was nothing they could do. It was just a cold..... "As long as he wasn't turning blue, or gasping for air..."

Thankfully, I trusted my motherly instinct..... I took my son to another pediatrician, who advised that I take the baby to an Ears, Nose, Throat Dr. Yeah, my 10 week old has Tracheomalacia.

Thanks for nothing, Laurel Peds!!!! One mistake would be understandable. Upsetting, but understandable. Two? Forget it... I found my new pediatrician.

I will say that the office is immaculate, but that doesn't really matter if they are going to keep misdiagnosing my children.

We have been going to Laurel Pediatrics since my son was born 19 months ago. We have been nothing but thrilled with the staff and the doctors. We never have a problem getting in for a sick visit with hours, and the doctors are eager to answer my questions. There is sometimes a wait, but I believe this is due to the fact that the doctors take their time with the kids.
As for the previous poster saying that the office is dirty, I question whether or not she's every actually been there. They are meticulous about keeping the exam rooms disinfected and clean. Hand sanitizers are everywhere, including the waiting rooms. The "Nasty Grams" inform parents to take dirty diapers with them in a ziploc bag. Diapers are full of germs - would you want them sitting around in a trash can where your child is going to be examined? And the turtle that recently passed away had been there for years - he was very old.

So far my expercience with them is ok. I am not sure if this is the doctors we will continue with since they are against non-vaccines and highly suggested that I get my baby the h1n1 vaccine. I asked them out of curiousity if that vaccine had mecury in it and they told me yes. They said that Jenny McCarthy doesn't have to deal with babies that have the flu in the emergency room- they do. I told them that they don't have to do with a baby that could possibly develop autism---I Do!!! I am still unsure- I will give it a few more chances and see how they deal with my child in the future,

I had my first child in December (2008- nearly 9 months ago), and we are now looking to switch from Laurel. I have been unhappy with them since we left the hospital. We have seen several of the drs, and they all have seemed inexperienced. After multiple tries, I have still been unable to get answers to basic questions such as what my baby should be eating. They are not thorough with exams. It is clear the practice is just going through the motions to charge our insurance. On multiple occasions I have been offended that they have not cared about my baby's health. I had a conversation with a physician there about this and she expressed an upsetting view. She blamed the problems on the large number of patients they see who have government insurance, as seemed to expect me to think they were good people for seeing "those" patients. They won't give inoculations if you don't have proof of insurance to "protect" parents from the cost, when they should want to protect patients and the public from disease and worry about collecting later. I had to pay for a sick visit when I was there for a weight check (which is free) to ask if my baby's umbilical stump was healing OK. There are "nasty-grams" all over telling patients not take dirty diapers with them and such. The office seems dirty. They may have killed a turtle by leaving it in an inappropriate habitat. Overall, it seems like a greedy corporation hires new doctors looking for a start.

My girls have been going there since they were born. The office staff is very friendly and accommodating. The hours are convenient especially with our busy schedules. The doctors take their time with our daughters and answer any and all questions regarding their health and well being. We especially like seeing the huge turtle!

I am shocked after reading these reviews. I have been there about 10 times and have been nothing but very satisfied. I was in an out, no waiting. Front desk, nurses and doctors all seemed very nice.

The group practice is the best around. They have a large office with many exam rooms, usually 2 doctors are on site at a given time. They have evening hours and some Saturdays. The wait times can be occasionally lengthy, but overall, a very good office.
