Pete is world class when it comes to any kind of guitar repair. Over my 35 years of playing guitar I've had good and very bad experiences with repair people; my favorite Larivee Acoustic had a refret years ago that made me cry. Since then the only person I would trust was way down in VA (A great tech/luthier is worth it). Pete is everything the master tech in VA is and more. He is not just expert but with talent to boot. And he give's time and attention to the customer along with priceless advice (He needs to write a book for us all!). He will soon be selling a hand made electric of his own design and manufature - and I am on the waiting list!
Brought my guitar to Pete for a set-up. Had it done for far less than GC or SA and it sounds great now. Pete's easy to talk to, knowledgeable and will get my business from now on. Reasonable prices and gives great advice. Highly recommend SJGR!
I came in ready to spend money to have work done to lower the action on my steel string acoustic. I was told the guitar had been stored in too wet an enviroment and it just needed to rest in a drier enviroment for a while. A honest tech NOT trying to make a fast buck!
Pete Brown is a pleasure to do business with. He is a very skilled luthier, has always done great set ups, mods, fret dresses, and maintenance for me. He has worked on at least two dozen of my guitars, and I won't let anyone else touch them.
I brought my Gretsch 6120 guitar there after I had a bad experience at two other guitar stores GC and Sam Ash.
SJGR set up my guitar beautifully and had me sit there and play my guitar to make sure I was happy with it. The owner Pete was very busy but he took time to talk to me about guitars and guitar equipment. I don't trust anyone else with my equipment now.
