The Spanish Tavern is most prominently a seafood restaurant. Although I am not a fan of seafood, I will be the first to say that theirs is cooked to perfection. For those like me who would rather eat something that lived on land, they also have a good selection of other entrees. The atmosphere is very classy. My family went there for a recent Christmas dinner, and the service was very fast, very friendly, and very festive.

I grew up in the Mountainside area and have been attending various events at the Spanish Tavern since it opened its doors 20+ years ago. First it was High School spanish class events, then as the midway point between college and my parents, then wedding showers, communions, etc, and now that I'm all grown up (hahah!) I find that the local companies I've worked for seem to enjoy going there for business gatherings!
I've probably had everything on the menu twice by now, and my favs are the jumbo shrimp in lemon sauce, the salmon, and langostinos! YUM!

Cons: no smoking allowed inside:(

The Sangria served at the Spanish Tavern is the perfect accompaniment to the very generous paella. Always busy.
